For me a world class player must be amazing for club and country... Was Rooney world class for his country... Euro 2004 was his best tournament but did we ever get repeat of that form in any of the other tournaments to follow. Club yes 2003-2011 was the peak of Rooney at Everton and Man Utd. Perhaps Rooney could have been so much better, I always felt he was tad overweight which of course I think affected his game.

Looking back at your football interest, was there ever a player that is considered a world class but in your opinion never got the appeal. Maradona was gifted, but perhaps if he was that good did he really need to cheat? To start it off... would have mentioned Jack Wilshire but he was never considered world class anyway. First one.... To Arsenal and some England fans a legend, for me bang average and others very calamity. It was apparent that World Cup 2002 was tournament too many for the keeper who was 41 at the time. Possibly cost England big time in that quarter final.

Boro for many will be the team to beat, plus home or away the biggest gate of the season for the clubs. I expect even with the move to Bedworth depending how things start in the season, I reckon our crowds will be between 250-300, perhaps if we are doing well beyond November then maybe gates may increase up to 400. Away wise it'll be the same 80 I reckon. Though the Nuneaton Griff fixture away, the only game Boro play in Nuneaton! will see I think 1,000+. If things don't go to well, i fear this club will struggle big time as crowds will drop and if they drop to below 150 the club can forget about returning to Nuneaton. Interestingly a lot of fans said they found getting to Bedworth's ground and back is easier than getting to Liberty Way, due to the fact buses to Bedworth are every twenty minutes and only a 15 minutes bus ride from Nuneaton.

Foxes Trust Update – Shirt Sponsorship
Leicesterpool replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
Pointless calling for a boycott, cause people will buy it regardless. I'm amazed how some fans buy a new leicester top every single season even if they like it not. -
Boro lost 0-1 to Bedworth, in front of 409 though 250 of that from Nuneaton. Not bad from what I seen, created some decent opportunities in the second half and some decent youngsters who were in the academy last year look capable of some good things. Brand of football looks miles better than what we played under Ginnelly so negative. So far played two teams from two levels above and haven't looked outclassed yet. Melton Town away midweek for Boro.

Seems like the more criticism, more we progress. Dutch have been better this tournament compared to others, but on the pitch I wouldn't say they have been that convincing. Turkey last night created the most chances, but couldn't find the net. On paper should be an England victory, but we know it'll be tight. Quietly confident we edge 1-0.

Yeah I'm sold on this

England v Switzerland - Saturday 6 July
Leicesterpool replied to Koke's topic in General Football and Sport
Talksport claim that reports the fa will approach Klopp to replace Southgate. As much as i'd love to happen, i cant see it. Klopp i think will prefer the year out. -
Off to watch Boro play for first time since January as they take on Bedworth Utd tomorrow. They claim there expecting a big crowd... for friendly nah. Itll be 300 max.

That is terrible turnout, sadly i think most is the younger generation. Most dont like talking about politics, im 30 now and cant say people younger than me dont have much interest on politics. To them its rich snobs in suits.

Interesting it's the main feature in the USA at the moment, ironically most Americans don't have a clue who the recent prime minster's are. The last one they heard of was Tony Blair.

England v Switzerland - Saturday 6 July

Our record against the Swiss is pretty good but based on performances I think this will be the end of the road for the three lions, I reckon 1-2 Swiss. -
Imagine humiliation if the tories slip to third behind reform.

The idea of Farage becoming Prime Minister in years to come is not impossible. Sunak will struggle to remain leader party after this defeat and theres not many decent mps out there on tory side showing suitable signs of being good enough... or dare we say mad boris returns.
-
This time tomorrow then Sir Keir Starmer will likely be the new prime minster... if your labour, tory, lib dem etc... think everyone can agree on one thing... can't do any worse than Sunak. Tories have certainly made labour look good over the years. This labour party is far from perfect and for years I refused to vote whilst some MP's were part of the party namely Corbyn being one. I won't be suprised in five years there will once again be another party change, especially if Nigel chooses to go Tory and goes for the leadership.

Need France out, better chance for England. Besides France have had more than enough success of late. -
KDH career down the drain... he'll end up at Reading in two years.

Sure I heard she's bi, dated a fellow team mate at Arsenal. Then was something about she was dating a male player at Stevenage.

Portugal vs Slovenia - Monday 1st July - 8pm

I'd always to tell a player to kick a penalty has hard as you can, always beat the keeper no matter what and never let him be hero by getting a glove to it. If you miss then it's better hitting row Z than see a keeper claim the glory. Best type of penalty, is a Paul Gallagher special. When I took pens whenever I never looked at the keeper just focused on the ball, I always thought the harder you kick it the faster it'll travel and less time for the keeper to react. -
