Still going to be a comfortable victory for Trump. Biden is hopeless and possibly weakest president to step into office.

Next England Manager?
Leicesterpool replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in General Football and Sport
Just signed a new deal, cost Fa fortune to even speak to him. But he would be amazing. Players like Watkins, Jacob Ramsey and Mings. Look different players under him. Howe i think is on the list but i think the fa will be looking for a cheaper option. Itll end up being Potter or Carsley as they wouldn't have to be compensation. Can't say Potter and Carsley is the most inspiring appointment... more lazy. -
Southgate steps down as England manager
Leicesterpool replied to foxfanazer's topic in General Football and Sport
I think in years to come a lot of players will open up more about Southgate. Many will probably say "we should have been more adventurous" and probably say we should have won two of the four tournaments. I wont be surprised in years to come every time the England job becomes available Southgate will always be linked to a return. Much to our fears. The fa need to take same attitude as the lionesses in terms of their search. Go for the best of the best. Lionesses learnt after Neville they needed someone with experience, known successful, trophy driven. Under Hogdson it felt like we went out there to do the best we can and stay in as long as possible. Southgate for once in praise did target tournament wins. But on reflection he wasn't strong enough with his knowledge to win a final against top opposition. -

The idea of got to be English is really restricting your options and you look round, is there any English coach in the last decade that's actually won a major trophy or a top level league title... sad to say English managers aren't in a great place at the moment. Realistically if the FA want silverware you need a manager you know is capable of winning trophies and motivating top players. Just imagine someone like Jurgen Klopp or a Mauricio Pochettino express interest in the job, having one them managing the likes of Stones, Guehi, White (if steve holland leaves), Bellingham, Foden, Saka, Kane, Palmer, Watkins, Grealish, Maddison, Gordon and Toney, instead them amazing set players being managed by the likes of Graham Potter. -
It'll be the same to last, still no national league despite rumours over the last five or six years. Career mode will still be crap. Unrealistic transfers etc. Be good if ladies teams can play against men's side. More nations, be great if it included nations league and qualification for the World Cup. Kit creator, edit players international sides. Create a stadium... Most of these will not happen.

Lol never looked at it like that

I think globally there will be lot of interest a lot of top coaches would really fancy this job. Bit typical fa they will give it to an Englishman with no proven success. Just guiding an unfancied club to midtable... yeah uninspiring stuff. Interesting on paul merson talking how times change. Like in 2016, Alan Pardew was being eyed as a replacement for Hogdson. Now hes look as a bit of joke of a coach. Steve Bruce i remember was being touted as replacement for Capello going into Euro 2012 how horrific that would have been. -
Going through my laptop today, and found some old creations of mine from years ago. I created my own like world cup logo's for like England 2022 bid, as seen below. With the cities mentioned part of the bid.

Some suggestions are suggesting the fa may not appoint the next permanent manager rtill next year... in words get interim until there prime target is available. But its a long interim period plus would anyone take the job knowing next year they will be replaced. -

It would dangerous decision for the Fa to make that decision, Sarina leaving the England women for the men, will make it look like the men's game is way more important. It would open a can of worms. If honest I don't think Sarina would want to take that risk, if she went to manage men's side I think should would much rather be another nation, like if netherlands men approached her to takeover. -

Team GB was a tick box, best players had gone to Euro 2012 few weeks before for England and weren't allowed to also play at Olympics due to the clubs wouldn't let them. Left with the England Under 21's and aging Welsh players. Never would have won gold. Be interesting if Team GB football returned with all home nations involved for selection who'd get in. I'm sure on Talksport, Pearce did admit nine players that were on his original list he picked he had take off because they were either featuring at the Euro's or were Scottish. Apparently Pearce had spoke to Rooney who wanted to play, but Ferguson wouldn't allow it. -

Yes between 2005-2014 was sacked by the FA replaced by Southgate. Also was Team GB manager for 2012. Didn't go to plan think they were knocked out early on. Not forgetting his dodgy spell at Forest, not sure he lasted the season. Don't think he's managed since been assistant Moyes at West Ham Utd. -

Emma Hayes would have been interesting appointment if she hadn't already gone state side. Been interesting statement appointment England's most successful women's club manager to England team men's job. -

Southgate did a good job yes, got England to two finals. But with the players under him you do question he could done better. Against croatia were 45 minutes away from a world cup final, but poor tactics and not react in the second half early enough cost us. Euro 2021, best team by far maybe helped playing all but one game at wembley. Final we were just 10 minutes from winning it. But again poor tactics and not reacting early enough in the second half. World cup 22, outstanding performances except against Usa. Just unlucky come the quarter finals against France. Euro 24, up to the semis we limped to the semi final. But give us credit we made it. For once Southgate got his subs right. Biggest fault came probably by constantly picking Kane all tournament it was clear the quarters he wasnt up to speed and going into the semi final and final he shouldn't have started. The negative tactics all tournament with attacking players will always be questioned. Like euro 21 a massive opportunity missed. -

A few years ago Guus Hiddink would have been good. Knows England well managed all over the world and managed to adapt but ten years too old. -

Next England Manager?
Leicesterpool replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in General Football and Sport
We need a manager with proven success, too many no hopers. Sadly no English out their at the moment good enough. So time to foreign route again. Jurgen Klopp... wishful thinking but no harm in trying Poch... good record with English players and developing them Unai Emery... cant see him leaving Villa but again worth asking. Thomas Tuchel... maybe tempted Eddie Howe... only Englishman to make my list. But only top english coach in the country Why do i get this bad feeling Brendan Rodgers will be linked... -
Last night with England losing battle in midfield does anyone thing we missed like a Jordan Henderson.

Reading the press Potter is firm favourite for the England job. That the best we can do? Hes okay manager, but can you honestly tell me Potter is type of manager that can win England the world cup. Eddie Howe better choice at least hes achieved things. But im not sure hes manager can England to greatestness.
