Premier League Thread 2023/2024

Sounds like the only way for Villa to avoid FFP is qualify for the champions league. Put's further pressure on them to succeed. The Tottenham game next week could be a decider. -
Sunderland (A) - Tuesday 5th March - 7.45pm

Sadly I feel 1-1 draw coming, Leicester score first. Will look on top, pushing for that second to kill it off but unable to find it, Sunderland grab a late frustrating equaliser. -
3,500 quite generous really, may make members but for a short period.

Interesting how Kasper leaves, everything began to go wrong. Would you ever bring back Kasper as manager? All our success seem to happen around him.

Should have won Euro 2021 (2020), over the whole tournament we were the best team, even in the final I think. Should have won it considering 90% of England's games were at Wembley. Southgate's tactics cost us in the end, the last twenty minutes when the warning signs were starting to appear Southgate should have made the changes, instead he waited too late and through them on after Italy equalised. If you bring on Grealish and Rashford earlier, England win that final. I'm going into this more of open mind, purely because Southgate is at the wheel. We have got the players, but not the manager who makes the key decisions at the right time. What we've seen of from Southgate in the last six years is no plan B. England for me have 14 players top players that are capable of great things, we have then got another 9 players that are just not good enough to step up to the three lions shirt and when given the chance not performed. If Kane isn't available and you ask someone like Watkins, Wilson or Abraham to slot you get nothing. Gueye is not good enough and for me I'd recall Ben White, but sadly the bust up in the world cup as ruined that chance. Konsa goes otherwise but he's doesn't seem to be on Southgate's radar. Toney must get more game time in friendlies, to see if he's ready for the summer. Tripper for me, not had the season and I'd consider leaving him out. Anthony Gordon needs to be shortlisted, how he's constantly missed call up I don't know. Sean Longstaff another on list, who should be concidered over Kalvin Phillips.

I dont want to start sexism row. But the coverage for this is limited i do feel if this was a male premier league player, that players name would go right through the mud even if they were guilty or not. Cause its a female player, whose looked as a role model for the womens game... its being buried as much as possible.

Chris Wilder return as worked! -
Sam Kerr being accused of racial abusing a taxi driver in London. Of course innocent until proven guilty. Though I admit not her biggest fan, do think she has nasty side to her.

Interesting thing atm is Ten Haag made united better compared to when Ole was there at the wheel. Other than the league cup success they look same old. -
What Happens if we don’t get promoted

I know he would perhaps feel humiliated throwing a top spot lead, despite topping the table since late September. Dewsbury-Hall goes I think, likely the premier league. -

Man United trying to find positives in a 1-3 defeat to their bitter rivals... how the mighty have fallen. The talk in the sky sports studio of there's still hope of a champions league spot for them... erm well... their 11 points of Villa. Six points off fifth place Spud. They should be more worried about finishing in the europa league spots as from Brighton in 9th place are still in touching distance which if i'm wrong if United were to finish 9th would be their lowest Premier League finish. -

Enzo would be on borrowed time and if we didn't start off great he'd be gone by October. -
Who do you want for next season in the PL

With FFP it's whatever we can afford. -

Foden is amazing player but certainly not England's best player, in the short time we have seen Foden in an England shirt we are yet to see really shine like he does for City. If honest you don't build a squad around just one player. especially with England. So much talent, Foden needs to raise his game in an England shirt to get a start. -
Was this seriously given a PG rating

Chesterfield fans probably dont even care 20 points ahead. Just bad day at the office. -
Dewsbury-Hall has disappeared also forgot he was on the field.
-
Judging by our performances in the last five we haven't looked good enough to win the league. What amazes me is how we are still top.
-
Started off well, doing everything but score. QPR go up one end and show us how to do it. Pretty poor second half from us. Even with the goal back never troubled their keeper enough. No clue from the attackers.

Redknapp reckless in terms of money, probably bankrupt Portsmouth, QPR he did same again then Birmingham he spent there entire budget for the next three season in on one summer... only to be sacked in September. I think if you asked Redknapp to manage a club like Burnley hed struggle. Apparently hes turned down loads jobs due to no budget. He was offered both Newcastle and Sunderland said no. He was even offered Man City in 2007. -

Foot both camps... Les Ferdinand Danny Simpson Matthew Upson? Cant think of anymore -
Halloween night, certainly caused Chelsea a few scares. I'm pretty sure we went in the lead a couple of times. Despite that being the season of relegation, the lads battled well that night especially with the Chelsea squad present then.

QPR are fighting for their lives to stay up and their form of late as improved. I'm not expecting a walk in the park.
