Premier League Thread 2023/2024

Wonder whose set for Palace? Cooper or Potter. Maybe even Jesse March. -
Wont be surprised if cov go on get promoted to be honest. Especially if Leeds nick second place. I look at the other teams in and around play offs and cov seem capable of beating all. So its possible the m69 derby will continue in the Premier league.

For ones born in the 90's, went to watch first Shrek again... honestly good decent family comedy. By far the best, haven't watched in nearly five or six years and still as good as first viewing. Second film came along... erm... it's not terrible but focuses more on being kids movie rather than a family flick. Third and four... less said the better. Apparently there is Fifth film in works which is set to lead to a new trilogy, which means by the end of it we could see Shrek franchise finish seven movies altogether. It's been a good 14 years since the last Shrek outing, is the appeal still there for Shrek and would kids today even like Shrek.

Middlesbrough - Sat 17th Feb (H) - 15:00
Leicesterpool replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Middlesbrough so inconsistent this season, one minute they look good and decent; well organised etc, the next minute they look woeful and disjointed. There a team if you hit them right you can really exploit their vulnerable defence. I can see this being some hammering for Middlesbrough, 4-0 Foxes! I just feel once we get into our flow against the red boro, there won't be anything stopping us. -
Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Post Match Thread
Leicesterpool replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
First half an hour we totally dominated deserved our two goals, second half was more of a "professional performance" see the game out and keep a clean sheet. Wednesday looked better in the second and created some decent chances in the second half, we had a fair few chances in the second period but not quite so domineering. Seems like with the wet conditions Enzo wanted not to risk it too much and asked the players to just see the result out, which they did to be fair. -
Im hoping to do Germany before the euros, so i can do a stadium and travel guide for fans planning to go for youtube. Just finding the time is the problem before the end of season.

It would have been great opportunity for radio leicester to invite him back on the football forum to ask how he's getting on. He used to be on the regularly, back when it was good.

Non-League Football 2023/34
Leicesterpool replied to CosbehFox's topic in General Football and Sport
Non league wise who would you say as the best supporters excluding ones that have played in the efl. South Shields seemed to be well supported, regularly get 2,000 or more at home in the national league north. Plus away following is decent apparently they took over 300 all way down to Gloucester City on Saturday. -

Strange how every season ends the same, each year we see clubs outside the usual six starting to encroach on the top four, there up there till about end of January. Then after that they go inconsistent and end up slipping down to sixth or seventh and have to settle for europa league or conference league and we end up with same top four. We seen it with Southampton under wrack-it Ralph, ourselves under Rodgers, Wolves under Nuno, West Ham under Moyes, Brighton under there manager forgot his name... and now Emery at Villa. Does boil down to the fact clubs out of the top six just don't the squad depth to challenge for top four. Newcastle perhaps the exception but instead there having average season this campaign compared to last. No one again "will do a leicester" -

Coalville fans will breathe sign of relief Jim Ginnelly ain't been named. Though poor old Barwell will no doubt see the return of Jimmy. -
I always feel Russell Martin gets extra praise and media attention due to the fact he speaks with right southern accent. Pressure will be on if he doesn't take Southampton straight back up, if they miss out they will be expected to leading the pack next season and if there in the top two by October he will be forgotten.

Be interesting to see if Man Utd look to groundshare somewhere will build to the new stadium similar to Tottenham the new ground is next door to old Trafford. Considering the fan base is also over they probably dont need to to restrict to Manchester. I wouldn't rule them playing at the Principality Stadium especially as it holds 80,000 and slightly more closer than London to Manchester. Etihad groundshare i dont think is possible. -
Its going to be a 1-1 draw. Leicester dominanting throughout, we eventually find the net in the 60th and constantly pushing for that second to kill the game off. 88th minute Watford equalise to gain a lucky point for them.

Best goal you've seen scored against us
Leicesterpool replied to foxfanazer's topic in Leicester City Forum
Seem to recall Danny Drinkwater scored a long range goal against us for Barnsley. 48 hours later he is recalled by Man Utd and sold to us. -
I can understand a sin bin but we dont need a third card. Just give a yellow and player must remain in sin bin for 3 minutes which they could use as cooling down period.

Jack Grealish goal against us, which ironically was his first premier league goal. But he still went on to lose the game. To be honest I seen this kid at Notts County and wow at 17 he bossed the game! -

For me one alternatively for Nuneaton, is to look at merging with Nuneaton Griff. At least they have a ground which is within the town and already allocated a league sadly some people just don't want any association with Griff for some reason, it's not like there rivals. -
That's been called for, for a long time by supporters but each time been over looked.

Would you support a "Super League"?
Leicesterpool replied to ozleicester's topic in General Football and Sport
Even with that league cup win 2008, they hadn't won anything for nearly 20 years prior to that. In the gap Leicester won the league cup twice, Blackburn won the premier league and league cup, Villa won the league cup twice, Middlesbrough won the league up. Spuds for me are not main elite club, big club yes, top eight yes but not top six. -

Football snobbery keep the rift raff clubs out and make sure the huge clubs just get richer and richer -

I think for most players now probably know the club they are growing up with wont be the club they make it to becoming a first teamer. -

Article in the paper the other day. About how clubs are not using the academy much anymore. Clubs are using the academy not to recruit within but in order to sell on just soo they meet within FFP. Chelsea worse for it. Sell an homegrown play for reasonable price and then later make a huge marquee signing.
