  1. Can't believe he's still here to be honest! After Vardy he's possibly the longest serving I think alongside Ndidi..?
  2. Had someone like Viktor Pereira come in here after Cooper instead of going to Wolves when he did I have no shadow odf a doubt that he would have paired them together after one or two games in charge max.!
  3. Another one was when he was responsible for feeding Iwan Roberts' family cat whilst they were away on holiday for a fortnight one summer and Iwan made up that their cat starved to death or something just to get Steve worried, lol!
  4. That and many other gems of true tales!
  5. Tales From The Boot Camp, still an intriguing and cracking read of his autobiography if you can get hold of a copy. I still have the original hard back from 1997, then the additional (semi revised) paparback version from a few months further on down the line from the original. Heady mid-late 90s days!
  6. BBC i.player if anywhere I'd imagine....
  7. Will probably still be going to a handful of home games at the KP (four or so) when up from Devon visiting the folk in Northants as per usual and maybe nick a south coast away day ie Saints away but will be hoping the football this time is less dreadful and prices more affordable. Paying £55 for KP games last season was a joke (regardless of what was served up), at least compared to the £40 I was when we were in the Championship the season before. VAR has it's uses but I'll also not be missing that! As for how we do next time around then I feel the only way is up - but hopefully not (further) down after PSR breaches and yet another points deduction threat!
  8. Not defending Cooper at all but the irony was he started them both against Forest at home in late October and they were both poor in that, as was the whole team in that game! That said we got a lot worse under Ruud in most games in the months to follow!
  9. It's probably made the players softer! I'm not saying go back to how say, Cambridge operated under John Beck in early 90s (cold showers, etc) or indeed how training was under O'Neill (hard running around Bradgate Park and Dunstable Downs, etc) but I think the move to Seagrave hasn't helped in that regard. I mean the amount of injuries has gone through the roof since being there hasn't it? That was more probably after Dave Rennie departed though as much as anything, unlikely to just be coincidental in any way!
  10. I know what you're saying but even Vardy was four years away from being signed still back in 2008 - and was done so for Pearson spell two of course, not when we were in League One under NP!
  11. I see, I wasn't privy to his actually being on holiday when the Bournemouth game takes place so it looks like the Ipswich keeper needs bribing tomorrow now then for goal no.200 to be guaranteed to happen!
  12. I'm still of the mindset that if Vards doesn't score tomorrow v Ipswich that he will still play at Bournemouth in the quest for goal no.200, regardless of what's been said so far about tomorrow being 'it'. It would defy all logic if not as he's clearly stated he wants that 200th goal before he leaves, even if it's obviously not guaranteed to come in either remaining game still. Then again it's been a logic defying season here when all's told so nothing would surprise me!
  13. If it's not announced after the Bournemout game that Ruud's departing then it's definitely beginning to look as if he's here for next season now...
  14. Man. United are welcome to him as I think Amorim's likely to be a dead man walking there now, especially if Spurs beat them in the Europa....!
  15. They went down with Dyche during our 10 years' old Great Escape season and then came straight back up again the following season. Been a yo yo team off and on ever since really!
  16. I still think they were going to finish 17th under Dyche this season had he stayed, albeit no lower thanks to how bad the three teams that came up have been with the inevitable/all now too predictable anchor attachment of an instant return to the second tier. Hopefully it will only be a two season long thing and at least one of the three promoted teams this season will buck the very recent wretched trend next season!
  17. Without having read any of the rhetoric on Dyche on this forum then I suppose as simplistic as it sounds then an 'everyman' would say look at how Everton were this season under Dyche and now look at them under Moyes in his second spell there! Definitely not the answer IMO, short or long term. I can see the obvious short term appeal to get things fixed but I too think he'd be a poor fit for us, much like Cooper was.....
  18. There's always hope, lol!
  19. Indeed, win tomorrow against the odds then beat Ipswich to potentially finish ahead of them on the final day then it could all point towards Top being falsely convinced to keep Ruud on for next season.....
  20. PSR strikes me as like being offered a credit card by a bank with a fixed £250 limit but go beyond that putrid amount spend and you're no longer credit worthy You also can't then apply for another bank's credit card if you breach the limit!
  21. I'm not sure how many would genuinely support Ruud here next season in any capacity if in the unlikely even he did stay on for the Championship next season (it might still happen but doubtful) - given the hand he was dealt this (Cooper's dire signings) and bereft of confidence/quality at the time, then not being backed in January, etc, etc to level with his disastrous track record time of it here to date. Trouble is he has also been at times ruthlessly exposed this season too and the 17/19 defeats speaks for itself an everyman would say, as well as the fact we STILL haven't won since January! While it's obviously still been a steep learning curve for him, I'm not at all sure how he would fare next season with more supposed experience of this club under his belt by then and with a different team to now (ideally!), in a step down in league quality which is more rudimental (no pun intended!), that's all. Unfortunately for him though he can only be judged on this wretched season he's mostly presided here over to the present time. I can't see it happening here for Ruud next season personally....although we're all still clueless as to how else will be in charge if not him of course! Over to Clueso...
  22. Thought that was a really strange move for him to Southampton after already suffering relegations with Bournemouth and Sheffield United before starring at Arsenal for a season until he was tossed out by Arteta effectively once D.Raya arrived. ,
  23. The irony was he had a good run of clean sheets in the purple patch run up to the Qatar World Cup in 2022, up to mid November (aided by the defence being decent I'm sure) but when that season resumed again on Boxing Day v Newcastle at home we arguably saw the real Danny Ward - as well as in the two horror shows v Wolves and Newcastle in December gone.
  24. Missing that sitter at Newcastle too!
  25. If free transfers also count then you missed out another Saints reject from the 0-9 night, Bertrand!
