Yep, Fenton the flop! Surprising as he was a relatively young age when signing for us and looked good to get goals aplenty for us, given how he was at Blackburn beforehand.
-
Perfect timing! Palace knew they were beat as soon as that hit the back of the net!
-
I'd imagine in the poorer parts of the country such as the north west re Blackburn, Burnley, etc then fans of those teams would probably have to prioritise more now, especially in this current financial climate. So they (in Blackburn's case) would probably prioritise say going to a glam home or away cup tie over playing one of the lesser Championship teams at home on a dank Tuesday evening over the course of a 46 league game season!

Terrible performance from Little's men on the day, a big letdown to all of us who travelled there but at least we had the 4-3 v Swindon play off final thriller at the end of it, albeit another loss!
-
RVN spoke well in pre match interviews but it was all hot air off a script at the end of the day. He was clueless, despite having the excuse of not being backed to fall back on and so on. Not surprisingly neither Cooper and RVN have got good jobs now, Cooper at Brondby says it all. RVN...?

Luckily back then there was still no PSR/points deduction threat during that 2002-03 season under Adams when we went into administration at the start/during it of course, will we be as lucky this season in that regard?! That said we'd still have finished second and clear of Sheffield United in 3rd I recall had we got the points deduction and so would still have gone up... but there may have been more pressure on the players during the season as it went along if the potentially hefty points deduction had applied
-
Probably would be coasting it by now if we'd started Winks over Skipp!
-
Although I can't see us doing a Southampton away on them then you'd at least hope it won't be a nervy affair with just one goal that setttles it, if any!!

Wilfred Ndidi Joins Beşiktaş On Permanent Deal

Yes, I think his being injury prone was why he didn't depart for elsewhere when we were relegated last time in 2022-23.... -
Yes, I'm surprised he hasn't followed his ex teammate Andy King's lead to be fair since he called it a day with us at the end of last season...as I think he was done playing at the maintainable level he liked last season in all honesty.
-
More as just as a flop on the pitch who contributed more to Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club show. He hardly played in the Championship under Maresca (partly through injury from the off from memory) and was patchy at best last season when he did so more in the Prem.

How excited are you for the new season?
Guy replied to daddylonglegs's topic in Leicester City Forum
Glad of the promising new management after the last two disastrous appointments (RVN especially!) but with the PSR threat back rearing it's ugly head again following our relegation and with no new signings other than an ageing back up keepr then despite the league drop down it is more tricky to predict how it will go this time, as others have said despite the likes of Monga, Nelson and Alves hopefully being utilised a lot more alongside the seniors this time. I guess it's never boring so I'm going for a 7/10! -
Yep, this good statement more or less has "it goes without saying" status, lol!
-
In other words an entire season spent on the backfoot with two duff appointments (arguably a season back in the promised land that might have been otherwise if there'd been no PSR threat from the off, and if Enzo had stayed if Chelsea hadn't come calling). The two managerial appointments were a bit chalk and cheese like but ultimately we'd have finished 18th with either in charge one way or the other with the squad available/injuries along the way, etc and attitudes of the players towards Cooper's end tenure didn't help either! Ipswich just didn't get over their underdog tag all season (like Luton the season before) and Saints were just there by default of beating a far superior Leeds team from the previous season in the play offs lottery who simply bottled it on the day - a la Sheffield United v Sunderland this!
-
Just a shame he couldn't really follow in his late father's footsteps after the October 2018 tragedy. Admittedly not helped by Covid that happened since then plus not forgetting he paid a large debt off recently to balance the books, PSR allegations incoming again or not....! I think like most now, I have mixed feelings towards him and think the time is about right for him to sell up now.
-
Yep, after the dreadful start we then had that good little run befor Qatar World Cup I think, in late '22 and that was enough to keep Rodgers on for another x amonunt of months ... unfortunately! The club's history has since been re-written because of it in a negative way!
-
He managed and got Newcastle promoted from the Championship of course
-
If we'd still been a Premier Lge team (had we miraculously stayed up last season) then it would've been great if we'd re-signed him for next season. Not sure how he's been doing in Saudi since he left Man City when he did TBH!
-
Probably due to the manner in which he left but even so, no excuse to have given him the grief that ijut did you mentioned, as you allude to....
-
I'm thinking you kind of agreed with me, lol!
-
I think where Mahrez was at a slight disadvantage to all of the aforemetioned was that he never got the opportunity to shine internationally through representing a lesser footballing nation in Algeria - then again nor did 'Bestie' so much really re N.Ireland.
-
Our second home of the 90s, the old Wembley!
-
Also Robbie Savage!
-
Agreed, I just hope we're not the next Reading in the making if the rumours of a double figure points deduction for next season are to be believed!
-
Meanwhile the likes of BDCR and Ayew have surely just come here for a lucrative late pay day, knowing they are both well past their best! If they are a part of the team that that gets us straight back up then I'll drop my charges but I can't see that scenario playing out at all at the mo. regardless of how crap the Championship is!
