Forum ownership may really want Enzo to stay, but its futile, he is leaving the club, deleting threads wont stop it.

Whilst I think Moyes has a slim chance I think there is no chance top and co go for Cooper. Given what the forest fan said he is the polar opposite of top ball.
-
Not really, there is one obvious candidate who i dont consider a failure.

Bring him in. We have the players for fast counter.

I am not sure I agree on the first point about Enzo game working better when pressed (those teams tended to make us concede silly goals and our possession % plummeted as we couldnt handle being pressed properly). However I think you have made some good points, particularly about player retention. I think player negotiations ultimately should now be on hold which is bad news, but considering our financial position, its important the squad we have next season is a best match possible for whoever the manager is. Under Enzo I feel extending Vestergaard is a no brainer as they mesh together with perfection, now its not. Also agree on his public attitude, and I kind of felt he was the type of manager to walk after promotion. I cant explain it, but I had a feeling he would do it, no doubt the lack of financial backing possible, is a factor in it. Enzo is a manager who needs money and probably wants to rebuild the squad like Rodgers wanted to in his last season. Still hoping we get a pragmatic manager (preferably one with recent EPL experience), as that is the best type of manager for a financially struggling club.

This link offers a better explanation. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5526749/2024/05/29/carabao-cup-seeding-champions-league/ So its not the entire EPL, and its apparently to prevent CL clubs having to play Europa clubs early on but not preventing CL vs CL and not preventing Europa vs Europa. Regardless I am still very against this move as its manipulation of the draw to help these clubs, they have big enough squads to deal with it.

Ideological decision, they want the late rounds to be all the biggest clubs. I think there already is hidden seeding on league fixtures, notice how Manchester United vs Liverpool is never the first game of the season?

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

So just one point really on that. -

I am using Everton as the template for our punishment, did Everton get deductions for cooperation? -
They got the player, being hard is refusing to sell. Ironically something we done on squad players the manager has no interest in.

As far as I know there is no direction provisions for size of breach, a larger breach merely means its harder to argue there was best intentions. We now have a precedent that two punishments in one season are reduced, and if you avoid admin it has to be below the admin punishment. -
I started following us in little's first year, and it felt like the moment we got promoted he couldnt care less and moved to villa, so its not a new thing. Maybe its worse now maybe its not. Other clubs similarly sized to use have managed to hold on to their squads for much longer periods, one problem of our selling policy was it sent out a message we were always willing to sell first team players, so it kept happening. Older managers and players do seem more loyal though, I think by the time a player is 29, they may have felt they have gone as far as possible, so if they move to a club at that age its often until retirement or moving to an easier league, likewise with managers, older managers seem prepared to stick with clubs longer. (please dont post examples, I not said every single one will be 100% loyal).

To me its more we are seen as easy pickings aka vulnerable. If you think its we somehow have better players and managers than other clubs, it would mean Villa being ripped apart right now, and the big 6 constantly poaching from each other.

How would they be able to justify it being higher than Everton's deduction? -

Yeah not much is going to happen to them, instead it will be dragged out under the pretence "its complicated". Because if they announce no punishment, then will be carnage, and they cant do any kind of big punishment, it brings the league into question and now it seems may even upset international relations. So the one action they have is just to drag it out which is whats happening. -
Who reported that? Really it should be no higher than what Everton were deducted last season.
-
Seen a tweet claiming Enzo wants to drag it out and not decide quickly, thats bad for both us and Chelsea.
-
So we agree really, I want Moyes but also agree with you they probably wont go for him. This to me if it happens again shows the leadership of the club dont have a football brain, they putting ideology ahead of practicality.
-
Yeah the problem seems to be, many fans see it as some type of "higher level" football so they think its more likely to have sustained success, but the problem is it requires a lot of spending to make it work, even Pep struggled, in his early years Man City were conceding loads of goals, resolved by buying him a few hundred million pounds worth of defensive players. He has issues as well with getting goals, no problem, buy him a really expensive striker suited to his system.

The main issue with smith was how late it happened. Was total chaos and the transition to a new manager that season showed how bad the club are at football decision making. I also think he didnt have freedom, the club intervened on the style compromising him.

Was going to make a thread for this but will use this thread. Do we think the club are doing what they should be doing or already done succession planning or will they wait until Enzo is confirmed gone and take a few weeks before a panic appointment? -- On the subject at hand I do have a little bit of deflation, the question again "why us", it seems Leicester City are always picked on by the bigger clubs (I expect how easily we have sold players in past is a contributor to this), To me logically there is much more proven managers already in the EPL but it seems wont be approached. (especially Villas manager). There is also that dount at the back of my mind would Enzo have proven me wrong. On the flip side this could be good for us, we desperately need the 10 million and it a chance for the club to get a more suited manager.
-
I watched WBA a few times and they bored me to death, overly tactical and his approach to the playoffs was sackable material. But maybe they were better in other games. I would perhaps be more prepared to give him a chance if he had EPL experience, we really shouldnt be looking for someone from a lower division in my opinion. Not a back to basics manager.

I appreciate you have explained why you want someone young, no one else has really bothered, although I dont see any reason why Moyes would be lacking motivation, younger than the Claudio we employed. If Moyes does have no interest in us, then is nothing to worry about as he wont be our manager without an interest.
