  1. Chelsea have taken some chances in recent times, McKenna has more of a better CV than Lampard as an example. He also likes his team to play attacking which I can imagine is an exciting prospect, double promotion with the same team is a massive selling point on the CV.
  2. Usually at least one promoted team is given a horrid start. Hoping its not us.
  3. Either the current badge or 2002-2009 for me.
  4. He gravitates towards bigger clubs but isnt a big 6 exclusive, he posts about lower EPL clubs and the larger championship clubs as well. Largely related to who his contacts are. He was posting about us in January window, although given how weird this club is going back and forth on transfers he will likely be hesitant about us in future, as it makes him look the fool when we back out on deals.
  5. So you want an echo chamber. Moyes Moyes Moyes. Lets see if I get banned. I am ok for opposite opinions, but people who are acting like Moyes is some kind of disgusting worst case option, I think should back it up with reasoning. Even if its they just like tippy tappy football, or they prejudice against age or whatever, give some reason.
  6. Talking of ceilings we won the EPL playing counter, cant get much higher then that, not to mention clearing 100 points on promotion 2 seasons before it with Pearson on a much smaller budget. Style of play has no proven affect on ceilings.
  7. This one was on the club, Rodgers wanted the deal done. Was a horrible decision. Consider as well how much league place was worth in money as well, 2 league placings paid the fee. surviving would probably cover the wages 10 fold.
  8. Yet they didnt go down, whilst we did, and his other west ham seasons they have been qualifying for Europe. You take baby steps, its like a promoted club wanting someone like Pep because "he has a higher ceiling". We harp on about Burnley because they put football ideology ahead of basics and adapting to the league.
  9. I really dont get it, some fans seem to crave it as if they think its next level football or something. No way would Martin be a success in the EPL, he is a head case, the players cant handle his system, he is straight to shouting them out in post match interview. We dont have the squad for it or the money to create the squad for it, but some just dont understand that. We need what some would call a "boring" manager that knows what he is doing in the EPL, and then only after at least a couple of years of that would consider change.
  10. Whats wrong with Moyes? We try and do a Burnley we will be taking a lot of batterings and heading straight back down. Unless we spend huge amounts of money for the right players which we dont have.
  11. The squad is already mismatched, which is why he was struggling. If we got another tippy tappy manager it would actually require more spend. Some of us have already touched upon this that we have ended up in a situation of trying to get tippy tappy managers to keep top happy but dont have a matching squad. There is also more than two ways of playing its not either tippy tappy or hoof. But dont worry I cant see the club doing something sensible and getting moyes, instead they will get a tippy tappy manager for you.
  12. Its a no brainer, but can see something stupid like going for Russell or something for the football ideology. Also I think its harsh to put Moyes in to a just survival category. Won a trophy last season as well.
  13. I can understand these roles, as it can avoid situations where you rebuild a squad every time you get a new manager, but I dont think a DoF (or owner) should ever be telling a manager the style to play, Wilcox saying what he said wasnt on in my opinion. Also if a club is ran that way, the DoF is failing if the recruitment isnt the right players for the style they trying to encourage.
  14. Please no.
  15. Vestergaard fitting in really well with Enzo's system, it was like he hit the jackpot, no way he was getting dropped with how well he was playing. However there is the question of why Coady wasnt tried alongside Vesty until end of season.
  16. Keep KDH, to me thats like a big star signing. Rather we keep KDH and sign no one, than sell him and sign weaker replacements.
  17. Hamza is a decent player in my opinion. We should be dishing out 5+ years to young players but on low wages so something like 10-20k a week 5-7 years. On Kasey, but of course its a short contract expiring, so a tough decision to make. I would sell if at least a 5 million offer.
  18. The problem for me is the wages, it already was crazy for the championship even if he was going to play every week. We EPL now but if he doesnt play, then thats more we can afford for a squad player. I felt when Vesty and Coady played together towards the end of season it didnt look a disaster, but this is going to be down to the manager if he has plans for him, imagine we sell him then Vesty gets injured first week of season. So am torn on it. If we sell him we do need to get this book fee nonsense out of our heads. "Any" fee is a positive to the books. Likewise any loan will be a positive as well, but its a question of the positive is worth it for the loss of the player. Example book fee of £5 million, if we keep him thats a loss on the books. If we sell him for £1 million, some will say thats pointless as we still have 80% of the book fee and its a 4 million loss, I disagree the 5 million loss is already there so the 1 million fee is a gain, reducing it to 4 million plus the 60k a week gain which is another circa 3 million. This is why PSR takes a dim view on this kind of accounting. If we decide we want to let him go, Coady needs to decide if he wants game time or £££. Stoke probably wont pay him 60k a week.
  19. He will stay and barely get any play time after we turn down a few offers.
  20. I dont disagree on your final point, change during the off season, especially if its later will be disruptive, I dont think we should be actively removing Enzo but just that if he goes we might come out of it better with the right choice, I hope that makes a little more sense.
  21. I dont think we have a stable foundation, only my opinion though, I feel too much of the squad is a mismatch for Enzo.
  22. Have to get a stable foundation though, no point having a higher ceiling, if you go crashing through the floor. I also dont think we can give Enzo what he wants.
  23. Pure masterclass management how he handled that early Arsenal defeat, we became counter attacking kings and kings of the EPL.
  24. If we got Moyes I would be pretty confident of staying up.
  25. This is the same thing I ramble on about as well. Even made a thread on it which seemed to offend most who replied. Bizarre we have an owner that wants us to play like Barca but then most of our signings in those years as you said dont fit the play. One of the probable reasons Vesty is under negotiation e.g. is he is one of the few current players who does fit the style. Really Top should be staying out of the style of play, it feels like he is treating us as a football manager game, get a manager employed to suit the squad, and the remit to be to get the most efficiency out of the squad possible because we are flat broke. The ideology has cost us heavily in the last few seasons, and almost stopped us getting promoted.
