  1. This I can agree with you on. There is no way a DoF has complete free reign of finances. He isnt the owner of the club and he isnt the CEO. If the wages are overspent, then thats on someone else who's job it is to manage the financial state of the club. I think perhaps the DoF can be criticised for individual player contracts but not the overall size of the wage bill. Whenever running of a football club is made public (by ex owners, documentaries, managers, players, current owners), the consistency is owners or ceo's tend to be involved in player, manager dealings in some kind of capacity, some owners are very hands on, others may be a light touch but usually have some kind of involvement. I think given his job title he has to have some blame of course with all the issues going on in player trading, but I dont think its sole blame. Sven e.g. revealed he had direct conversations with both Top and his father in regards to footballing strategy, Pearson the same, Enzo was employed for his type of football at the owner's preference, Vichai got personally involved in Mahrez contract renewal. These are things that are known in public, there is probably lots more, of course including other clubs talking about dealing with Whelan on transfers.
  2. Usually when promoted clubs sell their best player it doesnt end well. Selling KDH only works when we have someone waiting in the wings that does what he does. Otherwise we have to replace him with a new signing (crap shoot) and spend it on others. We will probably have a little money to spend, it just needs to be spread over cheap signings. Better to have five 3 million players than one 15 million signings. I think goals conceded is largely down to strategy and formation vs personnel, unless the personnel are really bad. Goal scoring tends to be affected by talent more, so forward players with quality are most important if want a good season in my view. Sensei, Huth players with dodgy injury records that have ability for cheap, are the sort of deals we going to have to do, alongside bringing in youth. This squad on paper in my opinion is capable of surviving in the EPL (with small amount of reinforcements), it needs the right mindset and the right type of management. In short I would rather we keep KDH and not spend much than sell KDH and spend more.
  3. The problem is we are really weak financially. How much do you think Vardy should be paid for the odd cameo? I think 10k a week is probably the limit, and that might be seen as an insult to offer him that. I was going to disagree with you on Ndidi, but I think you have a reasonable point on the increasingly worse injury record. I am starting to look at this in a way of players that have been productive under Enzo as I do believe teams needs to suit the manager running them.
  4. Good point actually, it might not be the case.
  5. This is what happens when any breach isnt punished quickly. Everton should have been deducted last season, and Forest this season (if guilty). Manchester City's breach I can see being a huge problem, those who missed out on the title, we missed out on the CL, and of course also concerns for clubs who lost players to them, again us with Mahrez. Whilst we got the financial compensation, it still caused us issues with a unsettled player. The whole thing becomes far less complicated if it was a proper simple wage cap, get rid of all the based on revenue nonsense.
  6. Well yeah, I did actually agree we shouldnt be moaning in the ground and instead supporting the team. My issue was just about demonising those fans. My opinion is when it comes to supporting the team, positive singing and so on, we should do winning or losing. Any type of protest would only ever be aimed if there is dissatisfaction with the manager or the directors of the club, but never the actual players. However I think there is no merit in booing/shouting or whatever at Enzo at games currently, we are top with a nice margin, if I am unhappy about a performance or something, its made on foxes talk.
  7. If it isnt Coady it would seem he just doesnt have confidence in him at this point.
  8. Thank you, I do think its important to see proper build ups leading to goals, then people like me and you can appreciate more of the play that leads to these goals, as I do enjoy my debates with you. I do agree of the footage available for this game, we look very good. Gutted I didnt see the game. 12 seconds between when we recovered the ball in our box and that Vardy goal.
  9. I think you dont understand the point I am making. If you going to moan about moaners, you cant excuse other moaners, because then you are being selective of your treatment and are showing a clear bias. You either want fans to back the team or you dont. Because anyone who says its ok to moan about Smith's team but not Enzo (or Rodgers before it was obvious we was doomed), is just showing double standards. It translates to, its ok to moan if I dont like what I see but you not allowed to moan when I am liking what I see. I dont think I could ever bring myself to sing or cheer whenever my own team loses the ball, to witness that was something else. I could see at the time it clearly affected the players as soon as it started.
  10. You have to ask why would they come sniffing to us but not to other successful clubs for their keepers? We are an easy target for poaching.
  11. I still remember the away fans not getting behind smith and singing we lost the ball whenever we didnt have it. So they not innocent.
  12. You can see the difference from 1.0 to 2.0(1.1) yet? When he turns and goes backwards its when we lean to enzo ball 1.0 and will be under enzo's instruction, you blaming JJ for 1.0 enzo ball.
  13. I kept looking at the highlights and your clip isnt in the footage, so I guess ask, where is this footage from? As I want to see it directly in front of me. -- Here is my observation from whats on the extended, I added bit in brackets for 4th goal based on your hidden footage and comment. 1st goal after few passes winks direct pass to KDH up the pitch leads to goal 2nd gol bad pass from stoke, intercepted by mavididi halfway line, dribbles forward and leads to goal. 3rd goal faes dribbles forward all way up pitch, leads to penalty 4th goal winks dribbling forward, long pass to justin on wing, cross to vardy goal. (very direct from stoke attack from strider's extra footage) 5th goal counter Full on enzo ball 2.0 to me, it was seen repeatedly, that when we had the ball we had motivation to get it forward quickly. However without having seen the full game its not a proper opinion, as its based on selective highlights.
  14. No, because the mens game has players that are stronger physically. I am talking about the skill of the player rather than if they would compete.
  15. Deserve what? just ignore them lol. I dont agree with not supporting own team at the stadium, especially when I know what they doing is on the manager's instruction. But I wouldnt make it my mission to demonise them. They have paid to be there just as much as you have.
  16. Quick and accurate one touch passing, skipping over tackles and around players, spatial awareness. Park I would even say completely transformed the game for them with the level of quality, and so much going through their 25 with ease, especially before Park came on.
  17. The quality gap is insane in this league. But from looking at them, most of their play is between 3-4 players, their number 25 and Park seem at least as good as mens league one level.
  18. Really one sided, double save 0-0 still.
  19. Was going to say it was coming as we havent had it over the half line in the second half, but the goal is offside, remains 0-0.
  20. I have missed a few games this season, every single game I missed I am pretty sure we had at least 3 goals, pretty crazy statistic.
  21. Wow, Sam instead of going for that loose ball, instead turned her back so they had a unchallenged shot. Very lucky it was not a goal.
  22. I do feel we have a large element of football snobbery right now, like we feel certain things are "beneath us". I dont think there is an issue with people disagreeing with each other on how the game should be played, thats just banter. But its getting silly when people start to get snobbish about it, and actually start demonising fans. It was happening a lot during Rodgers time here e.g. constant posts about people moaning about fans who didnt agree with what Rodgers was doing, and who dared to criticise the messiah, for been stupid to think we could be relegated. Yes I do remember all the stuff spouted. The funny thing is I do back Enzo, and can see what he is trying to do, we have had some pretty good games this season, but on occasion I will speak out when I feel he has made a mistake or got it wrong, but there is an element on here, who are kind of in the area of that the manager can do no wrong and no one is allowed to say anything negative not ever. This thread seems to have let them loose, and suddenly its the Rodgers fan wars all over again. Your point I agree with 100%, its funny when we score on a counter, or hybrid play, and its seen as a means to prove that forward football is some kind of evil.
  23. Thats not what we was doing in that half though. As I said some people cant tell when we doing that or when we just playing keep ball to pass out the game. Also when was I talking about the rest of the season?
