Am I being too pessimistic for the new season?
STUHILL replied to SkidsFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Forgot about these two. I think Okoli could be dominant at this level too. Get rid of Faes and Vestergaard. -
Am I being too pessimistic for the new season?

So true. It really is a disgust and hatred for many of them It even irritates me that if Faes and Vestergaard do stay, they will likely be just as dominant as they were last time in the league Hoping Okoli and a New CB do the business for us, so we can get rid of those toxic farts. -
OwlsTalk suggest Pedersen might stay to takeover as Manager there. Would be surprised he would want to stay in that mess though. I really want whoever comes in, to bring his whole backroom staff with him. We are already behind in planning, so don't want our new Manager having to form a new backroom staff as well.

all two of them? Actually, I can only remember seeing one post telling us to be grateful recently. They are almost extinct.

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
STUHILL replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
When are we going to hear our punishment? It is so ridiculous how long this drags on. We aren't Man City. Get on with it you nobbers! -
All part of the plan. Perfect for the incoming Dycheball
-
Me too. The Championship is my guilty pleasure. More games and no VAR. Plus we WIN games
-
Agree with all this, however ONE small or big detail you are missing - Points deduction. The extent of that will determine if we can keep up with Southampton and Ipswich. It is true though, we still have a very good squad for this level, as much as we dislike many of these players, this level suits them and we should be in the top 3 strongest squads. Definitely need a Striker though, and potentially a CB if we can get rid of Faes and Vestergaard.
-
Were you here 2 years ago? The Championship is absolutely dross. We are in a mess on and off the field, but we still have some very good players at this level. If we get a competent Manager in, then we really should be winning a lot of games. I suspect Southampton and Ipswich might be difficult to match, but I'd be surprised if we weren't in and around the play-offs, with the likes of Fatawa, Mavididi and Winks all performing very well at this level. Bilal and Mads could stay too. If we sign a decent striker and CB, then I wouldn't put it past us to be pushing top 2 either (depending on points deduction) However, if we don't go up next season, then I will really start to fear for the club, as that will mean a Manager that has potentially failed and also some of our better players pushing for moves with promoted clubs or abroad.

Mistakes go unpunished. Such a difference from the Premier League. It is why Vestergaard and Faes looked so good 2 years ago. They were given so much time on the ball and were rarely punished for poor defending. I still want them both gone this window though.
-
So true. I was shocked how poor the Championship was 2 years ago, and I don't think it will be much different this time. I expect Southampton, Ipswich and ourselves to again be pushing at the top, despite how negative we feel towards most our players. I doubt we will be able to shift many out, so any new Manager will likely have to work with the likes of BCDR and Ayew. Lol. I just hope we can get rid of some of the toxic characters like Faes, Soumare and Vestergaard. I am hoping Winks can redeem himself, as he is still our best midfielder at this level. We do need a striker though, as Daka isn't good enough even at this level. I'd like at minimum, a new starting CB and Striker.

I genuinely thought he would be an OK signing for us and a leader that we desperately needed back then. Soon worked out, that he is not a very good footballer and also him being a 'leader' is a bit of myth. He is just a good talker, and very little else. How he got an England call-up, I will never know.
-
Would be criminal to sell him for anything under £20million. I have a feeling he isn't on that much salary wise? So, he should stay our No.1 unless we get an offer of £20m+
-
That is why we have delayed announcing Carsley, out of respect for the U21s. He will be announced on Monday.
-
was trying to see it from his perspective and why he would take the job. Despite our issues, we are still plenty equipped to be winning a lot of games in the Championship. The level is shocking. It made Vestergaard and Faes look like prime Maldini and Puyol, last time we were here.

Decent chance of a Promotion Challenge. Strong squad for the Championship. World Class training facilities. Parachute Payments. Big pay rise. Recent Premier League club. Stepping stone for a top Premier League job e.g Maresca.
-
The songs have started. Announcement soon.
-
As with any Manager coming in, unless we are under a transfer embargo, there will be signings made. And just as some non technical players adapted surprisingly well to Maresca's style, e.g Ndidi, I expect a number of players in the squad to also adapt well to a more direct style. I would quite like to see some of these current players be more physical and play more direct. It is all IFs and BUTs though. No one knows our future signings or how some players will adapt to a new Manager. Things seem to be pointing towards Rohl right now, so let's hope he is the right choice. It was a 55-45 decision for me in favour of Dyche, as I see the appeal of Rohl too, albeit a lot of hope attached to that.
-
Agreed. I think people are underestimating how bad things are on and off the pitch this time around. If it is Rohl, then he will need a lot of character to deal with everything as well as the expectations of an automatic promotion push.
-
We are in the Championship and Dycheball really isn’t that complicated.
-
At this level of confidence, this will be a legendary fail if you are wrong 😅
-
True, or at least strong rumours. Betting market seems confident but that doesn’t mean much these days. Stars seem to be aligning for Rohl.
-
I was happy with Maresca, and I will be OK with Rohl too, as I was with RVN at the time. The ‘unknown’ allows us to fill those spaces with hope and excitement. So, I have no issue with those wanting Rohl, and will be excited by the possibility too if he joins. I just feel that Dyche is more likely to get us promoted this season, and as I said, I fear for the future of this club if we don’t achieve that. The gap between the Premier League and the Championship is growing year by year and we may easily get left behind if we stay in the Championship for more than a season or two.
-
I think people are reading a bit too much into that. Although not guaranteed, there is always a chance of a 'New Manager Bounce' and that was always likely with Moyes returning to Everton. If you read in more detail what was going on behind the scenes at Everton when Dyche arrived, and what he dealt with during the majority of his time there, then keeping their heads above water was actually a pretty good job. Of course, Moyes took over with Everton in a better position off the pitch and no doubt he made a big impact on it too. However, I don't see how that reflects poorly on Dyche. The biggest argument against Dyche, is his style of play and the types of players he may want to sign. Those concerns are absolutely valid. On paper though, I don't see a better Manager named yet, to deal with a club in disarray, with clueless ownership, possible points deduction, arrogant and overpaid players, and the expectations of a quick return to the Premier League, and to have a fighting chance of avoiding a very likely relegation the season after if promoted. I believe that due to our unique and self inflicted circumstances, if we don't secure an instant return to the Premier League, then we could find ourselves in even more trouble over the next few seasons that could condemn us to the Championship for years. King Power are on the brink of collapse, and Top and Rudkin seem destined to continue destroying the club. They don't deserve to own or run a Premier League club, but it could be disastrous financially if we aren't again soon. For me, it feels now more than ever, we need a firefighter appointment and someone who can take any squad and get them working hard and who knows what it takes to get promoted and stay in the Premier League, or at least not be a shameful 13 points adrift. I'd love Rohl to come here and be an instant success, playing attractive Football and have us in the top 2, but I am struggling to see it. I suspect he will have us in and around the playoffs at best and just be lacking that bit extra required to take on ALL our current issues, whilst also making us one of the best in the league. I will be very happy to be proven wrong though! Rohl is no doubt an exciting, albeit untested Manager at the level we require (top 2) but rightly is in the picture. Dyche just feels like that ugly appointment we need right now to get a talented but arrogant squad, working hard and focussed on an instant return. I just can't see him failing to get us promoted, even if he has to drag us up with pure menace and shithousery. Promotion for me is the most important thing right now, as I really do fear for the future of the club if we don't get back to that Premier League money. Sad, but true.
