Agree with all this, however ONE small or big detail you are missing - Points deduction. The extent of that will determine if we can keep up with Southampton and Ipswich. It is true though, we still have a very good squad for this level, as much as we dislike many of these players, this level suits them and we should be in the top 3 strongest squads. Definitely need a Striker though, and potentially a CB if we can get rid of Faes and Vestergaard.

Were you here 2 years ago? The Championship is absolutely dross. We are in a mess on and off the field, but we still have some very good players at this level. If we get a competent Manager in, then we really should be winning a lot of games. I suspect Southampton and Ipswich might be difficult to match, but I'd be surprised if we weren't in and around the play-offs, with the likes of Fatawa, Mavididi and Winks all performing very well at this level. Bilal and Mads could stay too. If we sign a decent striker and CB, then I wouldn't put it past us to be pushing top 2 either (depending on points deduction) However, if we don't go up next season, then I will really start to fear for the club, as that will mean a Manager that has potentially failed and also some of our better players pushing for moves with promoted clubs or abroad.

Mistakes go unpunished. Such a difference from the Premier League. It is why Vestergaard and Faes looked so good 2 years ago. They were given so much time on the ball and were rarely punished for poor defending. I still want them both gone this window though.

So true. I was shocked how poor the Championship was 2 years ago, and I don't think it will be much different this time. I expect Southampton, Ipswich and ourselves to again be pushing at the top, despite how negative we feel towards most our players. I doubt we will be able to shift many out, so any new Manager will likely have to work with the likes of BCDR and Ayew. Lol. I just hope we can get rid of some of the toxic characters like Faes, Soumare and Vestergaard. I am hoping Winks can redeem himself, as he is still our best midfielder at this level. We do need a striker though, as Daka isn't good enough even at this level. I'd like at minimum, a new starting CB and Striker.

I genuinely thought he would be an OK signing for us and a leader that we desperately needed back then. Soon worked out, that he is not a very good footballer and also him being a 'leader' is a bit of myth. He is just a good talker, and very little else. How he got an England call-up, I will never know.
