As with any Manager coming in, unless we are under a transfer embargo, there will be signings made. And just as some non technical players adapted surprisingly well to Maresca's style, e.g Ndidi, I expect a number of players in the squad to also adapt well to a more direct style. I would quite like to see some of these current players be more physical and play more direct. It is all IFs and BUTs though. No one knows our future signings or how some players will adapt to a new Manager. Things seem to be pointing towards Rohl right now, so let's hope he is the right choice. It was a 55-45 decision for me in favour of Dyche, as I see the appeal of Rohl too, albeit a lot of hope attached to that.

Agreed. I think people are underestimating how bad things are on and off the pitch this time around. If it is Rohl, then he will need a lot of character to deal with everything as well as the expectations of an automatic promotion push.

True, or at least strong rumours. Betting market seems confident but that doesn’t mean much these days. Stars seem to be aligning for Rohl.

I was happy with Maresca, and I will be OK with Rohl too, as I was with RVN at the time. The ‘unknown’ allows us to fill those spaces with hope and excitement. So, I have no issue with those wanting Rohl, and will be excited by the possibility too if he joins. I just feel that Dyche is more likely to get us promoted this season, and as I said, I fear for the future of this club if we don’t achieve that. The gap between the Premier League and the Championship is growing year by year and we may easily get left behind if we stay in the Championship for more than a season or two.

I think people are reading a bit too much into that. Although not guaranteed, there is always a chance of a 'New Manager Bounce' and that was always likely with Moyes returning to Everton. If you read in more detail what was going on behind the scenes at Everton when Dyche arrived, and what he dealt with during the majority of his time there, then keeping their heads above water was actually a pretty good job. Of course, Moyes took over with Everton in a better position off the pitch and no doubt he made a big impact on it too. However, I don't see how that reflects poorly on Dyche. The biggest argument against Dyche, is his style of play and the types of players he may want to sign. Those concerns are absolutely valid. On paper though, I don't see a better Manager named yet, to deal with a club in disarray, with clueless ownership, possible points deduction, arrogant and overpaid players, and the expectations of a quick return to the Premier League, and to have a fighting chance of avoiding a very likely relegation the season after if promoted. I believe that due to our unique and self inflicted circumstances, if we don't secure an instant return to the Premier League, then we could find ourselves in even more trouble over the next few seasons that could condemn us to the Championship for years. King Power are on the brink of collapse, and Top and Rudkin seem destined to continue destroying the club. They don't deserve to own or run a Premier League club, but it could be disastrous financially if we aren't again soon. For me, it feels now more than ever, we need a firefighter appointment and someone who can take any squad and get them working hard and who knows what it takes to get promoted and stay in the Premier League, or at least not be a shameful 13 points adrift. I'd love Rohl to come here and be an instant success, playing attractive Football and have us in the top 2, but I am struggling to see it. I suspect he will have us in and around the playoffs at best and just be lacking that bit extra required to take on ALL our current issues, whilst also making us one of the best in the league. I will be very happy to be proven wrong though! Rohl is no doubt an exciting, albeit untested Manager at the level we require (top 2) but rightly is in the picture. Dyche just feels like that ugly appointment we need right now to get a talented but arrogant squad, working hard and focussed on an instant return. I just can't see him failing to get us promoted, even if he has to drag us up with pure menace and shithousery. Promotion for me is the most important thing right now, as I really do fear for the future of the club if we don't get back to that Premier League money. Sad, but true.

Agree with you on the Okoli and potentially Nelson too, although I wouldn't mind a new starting CB coming in. You wouldn't start Ricardo? If fit, he will still likely be the best RB in the league. I also hope we hang on to Bilal, as I think he could be the stand out player in the League this season, if he stays. I don't have any faith in Daka, even at this level. I'd prefer to bring a new starting striker in. I also think Ndidi offers more than Skipp in the Championship. Skipp appears very limited, shockingly so.

Growing whispers of it being Rohl with stars aligning in terms of his current contract situation being resolved at the same time as us sacking RVN. Bookies still have Dyche as favourite, and couple have suggested he wants the job. No other names have been mentioned to those extents, so I'd say a decent enough chance of it being one of those two.

Faes is a big problem IMO. I suspect him throwing his hands up in the air on the pitch and looking to blame everyone around him whenever we concede, is only the tip of the iceberg with him and his arrogance. I also think Vestergaard needs to go. Ideally, I would like us starting with 2 new CB's next season. I am hoping Winks is not an issue, but a couple of red flags with him too. Perhaps, these three and Coady going, would be a good start for the new Manager.

As some others have said, statistically one of our worst ever Managers, but I surprisingly have no ill feelings towards him. I think many of us were excited about the 'unknown factor' and I thought the players might respond well to playing for such a Premier League legend. Unfortunately, the unknown factor turned out to be, RVN just isn't a very good Manager at all. His stubbornness to play certain players and ostracise others, whilst we were losing each week, was inexcusable. To be fair to him, I don't think anyone without signings in January, could have saved this team from relegation. RVN just made it that bit more likely we would go down. Hope he finds himself as a pundit or even an Assistant Manager, but I cannot see him becoming a success at a high level in Management.

There is a lot of fortune telling going on here, and more hope that the unknowns, are all in favour of Rohl. If you had to bet your house on either Dyche or Rohl getting us promoted and staying in the Premier League. You would go with the guy who has done it before and who has Managed in the Premier League for the majority of his career and is still only 54. On paper, if only presented with candidate A or B, no one would pick Rohl. I appreciate context is important though, and I do see the appeal of the unknown in Rohl too, especially when the known parts of Dyche, are a negative brand of football. I am just conscious that this club really feels like it is on a death spiral and we could be one poor appointment away from doing a Derby. We have an overpaid, arrogant squad, that according to RVN, are adverse to even doing fitness work. We have an owner on the brink of financial ruin and a DoF who should have as little say as possible. There is also the added pressure of an instant return to the Premier League to contend with. I see Dyche as the better candidate to handle all that, despite Rohl’s two year experience with the Sheffield Wednesday owner, which I acknowledge is a bonus if he comes. As the poll shows though, it really is a 55%-45% decision on Dyche and if it is Rohl, then I will hope for a Maresca style instant success.

Dyche would very likely get us promoted back to the Premier League at the first or second time of asking. I understand why people are looking past that detail and wanting a certain style and talk of someone with a higher ceiling, but the risk of not getting promoted and being stuck in the Championship for a prolonged period is greater without him IMO. If it is Danny Rohl, then I will support him wholeheartedly and hope the fawning over him, is justified. However, If he fails, then I suspect we will likely be stuck down here as the gap to the Premier League widens year on year, and Top continues undoing everything good his Father did. I’d take either at this point, but still believe Dyche would be the most likely to take us back up, and the importance of that cannot be understated, due to our on going financial issues.

Agreed. He seemed isolated from the beginning though. Absent Ownership and not bringing in an experienced backroom staff didn’t help. That’s why I hope whoever comes in, has his backroom staff ready to join him.

One small issue… No one wants overpaid players like Faes, Soumare, Coady etc. Any new Manager may very well be stuck with them. We need a Manager with a strong character.

Surely, they have someone lined up and will be done fairly quickly. I get the stupid reason for waiting this long to sack Ruud, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t identified who they want to takeover. I expect we will hear over the next few days of who we are close to appointing. If not, and they are only just starting the shortlist, then they deserve League 1.

Was this something Maresca instilled in them? Heavy focus on tactics but less on fitness? Cooper was awful but seems like he suffered from the same disrespect from the players too. I thought a Premier League legend like RVN would at least have the respect of these wasters, but doesn’t sound like it. Makes me think a Manager like Dyche is needed to get these arrogant players in check. Hope Rohl is a strong character if it is him.

The problem is, Top and Rudkin are still in charge, and whilst they are, very little will change on how this club is run. We can take the hit on punishments, but we are still likely to hire wrong managers, sign poor players and be reckless with spending and the rules, whilst they are still making the decisions. We need to get very lucky with this next Managerial appointment. Someone who can take as much control away from those two as possible.

I have only just started looking into what is going on at King Power in Thailand, and when you have the new CEO talking about being on life support, then you know it could all collapse rather spectacularly and very quickly. The only positive for King Power, is that the airports themselves would take a huge hit financially if King Power do cancel their contracts, and so the new CEO is using that threat to try keep King Power going for now. Either way, I can't see King Power being anywhere near as successful as they once were, and I very much doubt we will have the kind of investment we did in the past. The same saying crops up, of being 'careful for what you wish for', in terms of new Ownership. However, due to the constant mismanagement from Top and Rudkin, and the very real prospect of a King Power collapse, I would absolutely be in favour of rolling the dice and being sold to new owners. I think with the training ground, plans for a new stadium, and the story behind Leicester, we would likely attract a lot of interest, if Top didn't demand a silly price. I understand Top has personal attachment to the club, and so it may take the collapse of King Power to force him to sell. Either that, or he could stubbornly take us down with him. Thanks for the good times King Power, but it really does feel like this is, and should be the end. Please sell.

Time is up when Top says it is and the most I can see, is him being forced to take on investors at some point if King Power continue their downfall in Thailand.
