  1. really? I thought it was to help the "Big 6" maintain their dominance and stop clubs like Leicester ever challenging them.
  2. Simon loves a contradiction! Usually 1 or 2 per shouted sentence.
  3. Started 30mins ago
  4. Where is the dude who comes on here every week and says Leeds will win every game??
  5. Hoping for big performances from Akgun and Cannon, to really force Enzo's hand in league selection
  6. I want Ipswich to go up (in 2nd!) but I still feel they are most likely to have patchy form in the last 10 games and fall away from us and Leeds.
  7. I don't think we will win every game, but I do expect we will see a positive reaction and that will take us to the title. We have been crying out for some anger and passion to be injected into this squad for a while now. This is a great excuse to do that. I feel like QPR will be getting a thrashing, especially if our wingers turn up and we play a striker who will take his chances on the day.
  8. I think we are missing a quality defensive midfielder who can shield the back 4 more, especially when we are under the cosh. We seem lightweight in midfield, lots of energy and stamina but not enough physicality to help the back 4 battle when the ball is in and around our box. Old skool Ndidi would be perfect right now. I would also say that 3 of our back 4 are defenders that have more attacking qualities, than defensive. We probably need to be ruthless in the summer and drop 2 or 3 of that back 4 and have more rounded defenders who can do it all to a higher level. Chuck in a nasty ultra competitive git or two into the squad too, as feels like we are too passive when we lose. We are lacking grit in the squad.
  9. This is quite noticeable at times, and we see a defender under pressure but rather than play a longer ball down the channel with a reasonable chance of us getting onto it, a shorter pass into the centre towards a player closely marked is more often than not the decision made. I can totally see why that is done, and when it works in regards to building an attack, it is pretty sensational to watch. However, as you have said, you need a really high calibre of players to win against the better teams playing in this way. On the flip side, Enzo hasn't even had a full season with us yet, and no doubt we will sign a handful of players in the Summer if we do get promoted and those will likely be starters. It also feels like we are building a clear identity at the club on how we want to play, and the players have often commented on how much they enjoy this style. If Enzo can make us harder to beat, perhaps with a higher calibre couple of defenders and a top defensive midfielder, and we will continue to create chances at the rate we do, then I think we will be able to stay clear of relegation if promoted next season. Brighton and De Zerbi are a good example of this, albeit further along in their development.
  10. There is a Daka thread

    Daka

Set up the first and scored the 2nd... Can't argue with that, but that miss Want to see Cannon given a start as I think he is the better finisher.
  12. Back 4 not good enough? Can his system work if we upgrade 2 or 3 of those 4 OR is it more to do with the team as a whole not defending well enough and perhaps we should be looking at a top defensive midfielder in the previous Ndidi style? I do agree we remain weak defensively, despite all our success this season. I am just not sure exactly why and how we can fix it in the Summer.
  13. I thought Leeds would be better tbh. At times, they looked really poor. They have a lot of attacking players though and so expect they will push us and finish in the top 2.
  14. 2-0 and the game is over. Huge decision to get wrong. Hate VAR but that does show the cost of not having it. Yellow card for Ricardo was absolutely laughable too.
  15. If both our wingers were on it, I think we would have comfortably won 4-0. Mavididi did some good things but lost his head and fell off a cliff and Fatuwa had a shocker for most the game. They should both be our stand out attacking players with their ability. The problem is, we don't really have adequate replacements for either, so they have to quickly regain their form for the final 12 games. Their form will likely be the difference in my opinion. If they catch fire, we will comfortably take the title. If not, we could be in a real battle.
  16. Very passive in his post-match interview, as was Enzo. I do think we need a bit more passion and fight in this squad. Everything seems a bit too nice. I would love a couple of big nasty personalities to join in the Summer, to give us more of a ruthless edge in the squad. I can't help think we have put so much energy into the technical side of the game, that we are missing that basic and raw emotion to just go out there and battle when needed and be truly angry after a loss.
  17. Games like tonight, are what make the wins and achievements so much more meaningful. We will take this on the chin as fans as we always have to, and wait for the next buzz of a win! I think the players will be seething about this result, and I suspect we may see a big reaction that may push us to the title. Let's see though

    Daka

Totally understand that Daka is causing defenders problems and has certainly contributed since getting more games, but I really do think Cannon is a striker that will likely put away these chances. I'd like to see him start some games again. Missed chances cost us the game tonight (+ref!), so we should roll the dice and give Cannon some games.
  19. Yes, we were the better team. Yes, once they equalised we didn't handle it well. 2 deflected goals followed. They got lucky with the two deflections and I don't think made their own luck in this particular game as they were outplayed. We had the opposite, no luck. I didn't see any attempt to stroll through tonight's game. I saw a hatful of missed chances that came about due to our attacking intent. Plan A was working great, and should have had us 2-0 at the very least due to a shocking offside call. Plan A has us top of the league, and if you look closer, you will see many changes Enzo makes before and during games. Painful way to lose a game, but despite the anger and raw emotion, Enzo did very little wrong tonight. Players have to take these chances.
  20. Totally disagree. Enzo was almost flawless tonight in his approach. We outplayed Leeds for 80minutes and bar a ridiculous offside decision or the unthinkable misses from our players, we are walking away with 3 or 4-0 statement win. He has been at fault before, but officials and ridiculous missed chances cost us dearly tonight. Not to mention 2 deflected goals for them.
  21. I am confident we will get 1st or 2nd still, as I think teams around us will still lose games and I expect a reaction from us after tonight that will get us over the line. However, I just listened to Enzo and Ricardo's post match interviews, and I can't shake this niggling feeling that I've had for a while, that Enzo and the players don't react the right way to a loss. They seem far too passive and "that's football" type of attitude. Pre-Enzo, I already thought we lacked a certain intensity and passion to win at all costs, and that was part of the reason we were relegated. It feels that not only have we not being able to shake that with a new Manager and some new players, but it is actually still with us more than ever. The quick fix of course, is to sign 2-3 players in the Summer who have that nastiness and ruthlessness that we are lacking. If we don't, I suspect we will all lose patience very quickly with such a passive reaction to likely many more losses if we get promoted.
  22. ****ING DEFLECTIONS!!!!! How many will go against us this season
  23. Oh come on, we absolutely bossed them and were robbed 2-0 by an awful offside call and a load of bad finishing. Enzo can't control that. We should have been 3 or 4-0 and cruising. Players and ref takes blame for this one, 100%.
  24. Oh piss off
