  1. Could you look into patenting? That way it becomes your property, providing there's nothing similar available and then you have control over it's use and the sales potential thereof.

  3. I am, and let me assure you it was more than one bad experience. I can also assure you that I have never referred to the Irish people in a derogatory way. I only commented following personal encounters that I had with travellers (none of which have been pleasant),. In the same way I have commented on those rough sleepers/street dwellers that I have had personal encounters with. I have never generalised.
  4. I agree. And pretty much no-one chooses to become homeless. For many it's circumstantial; mental health issues in particular, broken relationships, abuse, familial emotional or physical neglect, failed businesses leading to the loss of one's home. The reasons are often complex. For so many, living on the street is so awful that sadly, self medicate with drugs and alcohol to blot out the horrors of their circumstances and that is likely to be their lives until they die.
  5. Assumptions again. You don't know their story, where they've come from, what has led them to this situation. You just assume they are "the dregs of society". Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge a person. I've met many rough sleepers who aren't drug users and I've met drug users who aren't rough sleepers (and they are by far the majority). People fall on hard and difficult times. Some get by, others fall by the wayside. What is your story Bert? Is your life so perfect? Do you have faults? Was there ever a possibility that circumstances could have led you down a different path? Don't be holier than thou. That's not a good look.
  6. Have you ever been to the Hunterian Museum? That's is a fascinating place to visit if you're into surgical and anatomical history.
  7. Bizarrely, a place I'd love to visit, looking at the names on headstones and wondering what life they led.
  8. A couple of thing's here. 1) If there’s someone that’s genuinely homeless and sleeping rough, I’ll chuck them whatever loose change I may have or even in the colder months get them something from Greggs. How do know they're "genuine" when you then go on to say: 2) But for me the dregs of society who have brought on the situation they find themselves in by themselves I have zero time for. How do you know they're the "dregs of society". Two very sweeping judgements that you have absolutely no basis in fact to make. You can't make out that you are philanthropic in the first example and then become Suella Braverman in the second.

  10. Do you get a bounce back depending on sales?
  11. Too niche for me. I prefer the clear and obvious.
  12. BDC trying to claim glory? Surely it's not a competition when all district councils should be working for the greater good.
  13. I've listened to conversations amongst fellow volunteers and others and the general consensus is, that once M&S closes, they won't bother visiting the city centre again. They are generally in the older population demographic, though. Even so, other retailers and independents in the centre are bound to be affected by the loss of M&S and the resulting potential for reduced footfall in town. I also disagree and believe it's disingenuous of BDC to make such a statement that I've put in bold. It's not Blaby attracting major retailers, It's Fosse Park, which just happens to be in their district. Where else in Blaby District are there "major retailers" that aren't supermarkets or DIY outlets?
  14. Rail's & Ale's | The Battlefield Line A popular, decent day out, even for a few hours.
  15. A bit nuts, that.

  17. These new plastic bottle screw caps attached to the bottle. They're a ball ache to screw back on, and on the small bottles of coke etc, just get in the way and poke you in the face when trying to drink from the bottle. I just snap them off. They'll get recycled with the bottle once it's empty. I can't imagine the cost of re-tooling a machine that makes the bottle caps to incorporate something that is pretty much unnecessary.
  18. Why is that "racist"? Maybe it is exactly the sort of thing they would do. As the Russians would do as well, potentially.
  19. So, China are after pensioner's savings and people on Universal Credit???? Tobias Ellwood, a Conservative MP and former soldier, told Sky News that China "was probably looking at the financially vulnerable with a view that they may be coerced in exchange for cash".
  20. Or commas, or full stops. In some cases, not even capital letters.

  22. Yes we have. Some things were familiar but we're still trying to make the links again.
  23. Me and Mrs P watched it last night but both struggled with the number of developing plotlines and we both said, hopefully it will come together at some point. But that said, it's v good. I'm waiting to see how the cop will get around the issue with gun.
