  1. Weedol and Roundup are poor weed killers. I've found Resolva to be the most effective, particularly for weeds between slabs and blocks. It seems to do what it says and kills the weed down to the roots. Even established dandelions seem to succumb.
  2. It's not huge but we like it.
  3. Wordle 1,079 5/6 ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I failed to get @Izzy's hint.
  4. Vodka isn't made from potatoes anymore. I have an allergy to raw potatoes and the other day I was given a vodka based shot and I immediately started sneezing and getting bunged up (nasally, I hasten to add). I put it down to the base for vodka being fermented spuds. I Googled it and I am wrong in that assumption.
  5. Generally ex-players who have their brains in their feet.
  6. I remember the giraffe and this: It had carp (I think) in it. Maybe it's not deep enough for carp, but there certainly was fish. Back then when I was at Gateway Grammar school, the museum seemed a fascinating place to visit. Sadly IMO it has become stale and uninteresting, but maybe that's just me being much older now.
  7. I have been tempted recently as it's been 14 deg in the morning and we had the heating on in the winter when it was 16 deg. I only prevaricated because it's the end of May and it just seems wrong.
  8. Excuse me but, I'm of a "leaded fuel" generation but I'm not fooled by anything the Tories try to bribe us with. It's all rhetorical headline grabbing and none of it is a manifesto policy. There may well be a percentage of the blue rinse brigade for whom the Tory party can ever do wrong. I'd like to think I have the nouse, and intellect to know when I'm being ****ed over by the Gov. Or anyone else, for that matter. Unfortunately there are bound to be those dyed-in-the-wool Conservatives as much as there are those forever Red Socialists who will only vote for what they've believed in for more than a generation. Hopefully common sense will prevail for the majority of ordinary voters that aren't senile or reactionary, to dispose of the current government and try a change. Undoubtedly there's those who are concerned about moving away from the norm, something they've only known for the last 14 years and they find that a bit scary.

  10. It would seem so: Gulliver's Kingdom | Matlock Bath (gulliverskingdomresort.co.uk)
  11. Some advertising junior is getting sacked tomorrow.
  12. @davieG?
  13. Not to mention Gulliver's Kingdom where he'll try to fit into a roller coaster carriage to show he's down with the kids.
  14. What happened to that poster that claimed to to know that MI5 and the Civil Service were running the country and accused @Daggers. of piss-taking??
  15. Wordle 1,076 3/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 As I was typing it, I thought to myself, this can't be correct.
  16. Front page headline in one of the rags: "Turd World War". Which I found amusing.
  17. N Korea sending balloons of animal excrement and other waste into S Korea. Apparently in retaliation for propaganda leaflets being dropped in NK. You send us shit leaflets we'll send you real shit.
  18. It's a shame that clip was cut before we could hear his weasel words in response. Also, I was in my 20's during the year of discontent and as a result I voted Conservative. What resulted was a Thatcher government that was infinitely worse than their predecessors. They were party that was spiteful, nasty, self serving, greedy, unrepentant, arrogant, patronising, money grabbing and youth-hating. Not much has changed in 50 years.
  19. I know it's something they must do, but I wish the party leaders would refrain from doing "ordinary" things, like serving food at a charity kitchen or wearing a hard hat in a factory whilst talking to (patronising) the workers that have been told to get out there and play nice by senior management. It makes them look what they are; out of touch with the general public.
  20. Wordle 1,075 2/6 🟨🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Sometimes it just jumps out at you!
  21. "traders could be relocated to the planned β€œCank Street Link”. The link plans will see a number of buildings between Green Dragon Square and Cank Street demolished" Much more demolition and we'll end up like Coventry and no-one wants that. Green Dragon Square is already a "Piazza" capable of hosting events I agree that the market as it is now, isn't very attractive or appealing but the initial plans to revamp it were pretty impressive:
  22. Replacement bubble for a spirit level.
  23. Even Aldi, Hinckley have 2. Bit bizarre. Who spends 2-3 hours in Aldi? Or even Maccy's? Particularly when you're time-limited to 2 hours max stay before you get fined.
  24. I'm not convinced and I'm not a LM knee-jerker/nay-sayer. If the market is moved as you suggest, then it'll have be downsized considerably thereby putting a number of traders out of Leicester.
  25. I'm gonna have to Google this... 3 mins later... Clever if you know, but still not funny.
