  1. And, for me the blame lies firmly at the feet of the man baby. I believe he genuinely isn't bothered about us as a football team/club. The longer he keeps us on his portfolio the more convinced I become that we're being used, maybe money laundering or avoiding paying tax or debts elsewhere within KP. Why would any truly astute businessman keep the likes of us on their books? If one of your portfolio businesses is failing surely you'd sell or bail unless there's an ulterior motive? Who knows, but something might come to light in the future.
  2. My local is 20 mins walk. I'll most likely be face deep in a bag of peanuts. But using the game as an excuse to go to the pub on a Saturday lunchtime is a bonus.
  3. TBH. Aiyawatt has no interest in us. None at all. KP should sell unless we're being used for some kind of tax avoidance in Thailand in which case there could also be a link to the dodgy BC sponsorship. What do we know what goes on?
  4. I'm going to watch it in the pub. Because it legit means I can go to the pub. IYKYK, especially if you're a married man of a certain age It'll be on the screens but I might only take notice if the commentator raises his voice in "excitement" (which is unlikely).
  5. Erm... JV? Maybe?? Gone but not forgotten. Except by you, apparently. (No insult intended)
  6. Two ex PL title winners now suffering the same fate. They must know how we feel but the fans will absolutely rip into us, I'm sure. Fan's hold no favours for each other.
  7. But who noticed? I have a friend who has a box. He says the boxes either side are not unoccupied for the first time he can remember and it seems others are as well. Nobody at the club is taking notice. There MUST be a drop in revenue from vacant boxes and ST's not being renewed that you'd think whoever oversees this income stream would be saying something to the board. Maybe they are and the board can't be arsed.
  8. I blame Mourinho and Pep for bringing in this possession based dull style we all dislike. It might be OK if you're Man City and play tippy tappy but then surge forward at pace on the break, or balls over the top, which is kind of what we did in the title and FA cup wins when we had one of the best strikers in the PL. Those days are long gone and most managers now prefer the possession game. I liken it to a fashion trend. Hopefully, like mini skirts, pacey front footed football will make a come back.
  9. She was great but the script was so good. They both played off each other but Cleese was so much better IMO.
  10. The £750 was spent on the dental treatment for the cat but TBF she does have a certain resemblance
  11. She's old and thin so would only burn for a 30 second flameout. And we've just spent £750 on dental treatment so I'd quite like some return.
  12. One of the things I like about going to bed is the cold sheet feeling gradually warming up with my breath as I cover my head with the quilt and slowly falling asleep. Cosy.
  13. We like to eat al fresco so our 3 patio heaters are on full blast from October to May. And the cat likes being outside in the warmth.
  14. No. But the obscenity of this kind of example is odious to many other private sectors that are struggling.
  15. Nor me. The discharge process is unnecessarily long winded. The doc's that need to sign off your discharge are so busy doing other things that are a higher priority, that it can take hours to get to your notes and sign off. It could be shortened with a few simple changes. A staff nurse or other suitably qualified clinician could access your notes, read the doc's recommendation for discharge and sign it off whilst the doc gets on with the more important stuff.
  16. Ok. Leaving your engine running while parked can be illegal and is an offense under UK law, potentially resulting in a fine of up to £80. While there are exceptions for necessary equipment or vulnerable passengers, you must switch off your engine when stationary for more than a minute, Emergency vehicles have an exemption allowing the engine to continue running when the vehicle is unattended in order to maintain power to lights and equipment. Ambulances have a system called run-lock whereby upon arrival at scene a button pressed and the system allows the keys to be removed and the vehicle locked with the engine running. Once again this keeps all the power going so there's no chance of battery/equipment failure. In the modern ambulance the equipment that needs batteries charged are: Powered stretcher, (requires power to raise and lower without the need for staff to bend and straighten). Defibrillator. Suction unit Lifting equipment to assist getting a casualty off the floor. Tail lift/powered ramp Heating/Aircon Winch to pull a stretcher up the rear ramp when the patient is extremely heavy (bariatric).
  17. Did you have to eat coal and grit? I did. And we all lived in a box
  18. A few days late but IME, my dad was repatriated to England after being conscripted into the Romanian army and living through WW2. He came here with nothing He couldn't speak English. He worked as a farmhand near Billesdon and the landowner paid for him to learn English as a benevolent gesture. He then got a job with Wadkin's and rented a one room flat for a while and I was born during that time, 1955 to be exact. He went without and saved hard to find a deposit for a house, a new build in fact, on a site off Barkby Road. My point is, he was a working class immigrant who, through sheer hard work and determination to make his own way and avoid council rental housing and have his own house for us. Something you rarely come across except maybe in Asian families We as a family have benefitted so much from his determination that, when he passed he left us in the financial position to be able to pay off our mortgage and live a better life. We were never wealthy and we aren't now. We're professional working class, I would say. My life could have been so different without his drive which believe came from his life experiences, particularly in 1930's Romania and the deprivation he experienced. He wrote his memoirs for us to understand his life as he couldn't fully express it. It's an unpublished work but it's in book form. I read them regularly
  19. He's not as good as he thinks he is, clearly. I guess he tries his best. Unfortunately his best isn't good enough. When he gaffs it, he gives up too easily instead of trying to make up for his mistake.
  20. Being a likeable nice guy isn't what a LB needs to be, on the pitch. He's definitely a weak link. He looks like he weighs 8 stone at best. He's not a beast like Wes or Maguire. He might develop better awareness and positional sense as he progresses, but right now, he's not the defender we need to get us top 2. Too many errors and weaknesses. Being decent in a training game is nothing like competing in a full on match. MC should surely see this and I can't fathom why he keeps getting a start.
  21. Are you implying football is a religion? If so, LCFC are turning me into an atheist.
  22. People, including the sports journos, keep saying we have a squad other teams are envious of, a squad capable of auto promotion. What are they seeing that I'm not? I watch the games whenever I can and there's nobody in that first team that would merit that opinion.
  23. See you in here next week.
