I imagine his journalistic skills are worse than his footballing ones.
-
Which one?
-
And even then, someone else will be carrying his baggage.

Did it mention the pen of my aunt?

I must admit, I'm tempted.

So you'd like to make Nige more unwell?

Was he lied to during his appointment process? Doesn't matter really, even if he'd been given the money to bring in quality players, his tactical nous and strength of character weren't up to the job and we'd still be where we are now. On the plus side, at least he's tried (albeit he's above his skill level) and not deliberately sabotaged us like the snake, Rodgers did.

I'd rather have Steve Martin. At least we'd get a laugh.
-
But he will be remembered.

I think you've misconstrued what I was trying to say.

I like Piper, he says what he sees. He understands the fans. As does Matty Fryatt. Even though his voice is monotone and not easy to listen to, he's honest and knowledgeable.

In a way it's a shame that we achieved what we did in the glory days because the fan base, including me, now hope for the equivalent. That's never going to happen and most of us understand and accept that. However the drop off is so disappointing and frustrating. If we'd never had those heady days of unexpected, wonderful success, we wouldn't be bemoaning the situation we're now in because this level would have always been the norm Sadly we had that almost intangible "thing" that we strived for and it was down to a perfect set of circumstances. Now things have changed. I agree that we should be performing better but we'll never be as we were in the cup/title years. I'm NOT a happy clapper BTW. Just a realist.

Mavis on the tea and biscuits run again?

And the kebabs would be so much better than shyt pies we currently get.

They won't apologise but also fail to realise that people will see through them, eventually.

My dad took me there when I was a kid. I remember having to sit on a wooden board placed across the arms of the chair to be at the right height for a haircut. I think I got a toffee or some boiled sweet if I sat still. It was always busy there. Ron's is a bit of a Leicester legend for those of a certain age. Another legendary Leicester place that has gone, Brucciani's. I used to love going there for an ice cream float or a lemon iced bun. And the Café Alto in the arcade between the Market Place and Silver Street. Also, the lifts in the Silver Arcade where you had to operate the lever yourself to arrive at the floor you wanted and then open the cage-like barriers. If there other people in the lift it felt like I was at Harrods.

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff
Parafox replied to davieG's topic in General Chat
I used to love going there after school when I was around 13-15. It was a place of magic. The giraffe and the shallow pools of Koi carp (or carp of some sort). So much was wonderous to me. I go there occasionally but it's just not the same. It's become too "arty". Not to mention the destruction of the pillars, balustrades and staircases. Criminal. How could they? It's a fecking museum for God's sake. It should portray history and not try to be a poor man's Tate. -
He doesn't because he feels he is all powerful and can rule the world alone. I imagine he grew up having to go it alone with no friends and a very domineering father who demanded total respect before Donald could be trusted with the Trump empire. The result, paranoid narcissism.

I think it's clear that NATO will diminish to a club of smaller nations that will have little clout in the event of a serious widespread conflict. Trump is trying to build a different alliance. I guess it depends on which nations will join his club.

They weren't the leaders that we had hoped for. Prima Donnas taking the dollar from us. We still have no "genuine" leaders in the team. Just weak disinterested "names" that hope to advance their careers with us. Well good luck with that.

Chess world championships.

No leaders. No motivators. No interest.
