  1. I said in the off season (from behind the sofa) that I wouldn't be massively angry if we kept him on, he had flaws and he was working with a mess of a squad (as is Marti) but I think the big issue he caused was his attitude towards players, we had a serial winner and elite former player as manager who had played at the biggest clubs on earth, who immediately and publicly spoke about a mentality problem, vs a bunch of modern whiny players that didn't want to be here after Enzo left. He seemed to get on well with the likes of Vardy and a few other players, the ones he didn't seem to get on with are the ones we all want to see the back of. I'd have much preferred to have seen where we would be under Ruud, with him personally giving players their marching orders, there is no way the likes of Winks would have stuck around if RVN was still here.
  2. It has got to the point that I genuinely think it would be a massive upgrade for both the watching fans and for the direction of the club if we gave the job to Allardyce or Warnock.
  3. Even if we did, it would take us 17 passes to get the ball over there.
  4. The fact he can't work it out is the thing that's the most surprising. If you gave this squad back to Enzo he would have JJ and whoever is at right back overlapping constantly to give Fatawu space, and if you gave this squad to Tony Mowbray, at the very least, the Right back would overlap consistently. They have two wildly different approaches to football, but both of them are competent enough to know that if the opposition are doubling/trebling up on a single player, you utilise an overlap to either create space for them, or provide an easy through ball f they don't track the overlapping runner. You could give this squad to just about any competent manager who isn't wedded to a single ideology and they would improve the impact of our attackers overnight.
  5. Honestly, can't wait. Would rather sit on my phone than watch us atm.
  6. I sympathise with this point, but there has to be a balance between us as a fanbase knowing the squad has many rubbish players, and the manager needs to show us why he is the one we can trust to rebuild at one of the most important periods in the clubs history. Right now the opposite is happening.
  7. Can we get in touch with Ant & Dec and see if they want to re-release we're on the ball for LCFC? It's Faes to Vesty, Vesty to Bego, Bego to Ricky, Ricky to Faes! Faes into JJ, JJ to Winksy, Winksy to Vesty, own goal! 5-1!
  8. Just praying that the Rangers owners have one more rash decision in them Then we can finally put this 8 year experiment to bed and start to play exciting football.
  9. Yep we were struggling under Ruud, but he identified the culture problem and was actively taking strong action to show his intent to fix it, he didn't just roll over and immediately give in to player power. We also had somewhat of a system, especially in transition, he had a lot of flaws, but towards to the end of the season albeit too late, we put in some massively improved performances, performances that we are not even 10% near under Cifuentes, with much of the same players, at a drastically lower level. I'm not saying RVN would have been the best choice, but we've somehow managed to find a downgrade.
  10. Have to be honest i'm surprised because I usually agree with most of what you say, I know we have problems beyond the manager, but Guardiola would have this squad absolutely miles clear of where we are now. I do get your point and I hope you're being hyperbolic, but the manager can make an absolutely massive difference in making the exact same player play 5% better.
  11. No, but it gives us more of a chance to stay in the division to fix them. Right now we are declining rapidly, all players have clearly lost belief in whatever the hell MC is trying to do, and at a time where our players are at their lowest confidence and morale is low, we could get a massive points deduction. It's as much a gamble keeping him on than letting him go at this point. It doesn't take a huge shift in the general environment around the club for a club like us to suddenly start doing a Luton or Sheffield United earlier in the season, this could spiral out of control very quickly.
  12. I will die on the hill that RVN would have been far more ruthless in driving the "old guard" out of the club and would comfortably have put up in a better position than we currently find ourselves. We had an identity issue and RVN was often accused of not blooding the youth in enough and those were fair assessments, but he identified very quickly a mentality issue at the club and was actively trying to stamp it out, we ended the season positively and beat what we expected to be our two biggest rivals this season comfortably. Everyone knows who my first choice was, but I took a fair bit of stick for saying I wouldn't be too angry if we just stuck it out with RVN because he at least showed there was some sort of tactical plan that he had at PSV and in the few games he had at United. I had multiple QPR fans tell me Marti doesn't have a plan and that he was rapidly declining amongst the fanbase. I took that as just disgruntled fans that MC had spoken with another club before being put on gardening leave. Give me RVN over this any day of the week and twice on Sundays. There are still plenty of forward-thinking managers who would join us and we need to take the leap before it's too late.
  13. I'm not really the sentimental type, but don't you dare open such a precious bottle that represents so much over this shitshow.
  14. This is probably a massive sticking point; it makes complete sense for whoever this next person is to have a strong input. Let's hope something is already underway and we are close to bringing someone in and they have given us their opinion, otherwise, we could be close to the drop zone if we don't make a move in the next 4-6 weeks.
  15. Would be a monstrous upgrade.
  16. We should be snapping the likes of Carsley, Carrick etcs hand off.
  17. I think we would be in a better position.
  18. Erm... who just hammered us? Where are Rangers in the league? How are Celtic doing under MON now?
  19. We were only joking we didn't mean it
  20. Yep, and people will still defend him. No manager would bring the same results.
  21. Actually blows my mind that people thought this was going any other way after about 6 games in.
  22. We need a formation that plays to our strengths on the pitch. 2-1-2-0
  23. Wasn’t as good as the last couple of years but not the worst race, Max really is in a league of his own when they can get the car working, considering the tractor of a car they delivered in the first half of the season he probably deserves to be much closer or even leading. Great recovery from Norris, Kimi putting in some incredible late laps to stave off Leclerc deserves a lot of credit too.
  24. Well, I've obviously missed that then as every time I saw him he was standing there doing very little, maybe the odd instruction to an individual. I saw him urging players forward a few games ago and they were ignoring him, so it's entirely possible they are just not listening. The issue is, he told us in one of his first interviews we would always go for another goal in an aggressive style, if we still aren't doing it coming up to December, either the players don't believe in him or he isn't communicating it well enough. It does seem to be a running theme with possession-based managers, though.
  25. The saddest part is that's one of the main promises he gave to fans, he told us from day 1 that no matter what, even if we are winning comfortably, we would always be pushing hard for another goal. The moment we scored today we slowed down from a walk to a crawl, and Marti was not indicating at all that it wasn't part of his plan. Multiple things he has just outright lied about.
