  1. Great result, dominated the game. Some sloppy play at times but that's to be expected, hopefully the "injuries" are not serious. We really need to find a solution to really "click" in the final third. Relative to the quality we have and the quality of chances we create, we are still incredibly wasteful. I think in terms of conversion rate we are about 7th last time I checked. Would be really nice if we could bury these games before the 75 minute mark as we often enter the final 15 minutes with the opposition creating a few chances and often in a position to steal points from us. In the end it's another great result and the best ever start in the championship
  2. Clueless if you don't bother to read the words
  3. EDIT - I read the clock wrong, NO JINX
  4. It's not strange if you read the post I'm saying we shouldn't be going into the final 15 with the opposition able to nick points from us when we have wasted so many chances in the previous 75. I'm glad we find a way to win the game at the end, but these games should be dead and buried long before that.
  5. I really don't know how or why we seem to end up biting our nails in the final 15 mins, we have more than enough attacking quality to be punishing these teams and putting these games to bed. Something isn't working in many of these games in the final 3rd.
  6. Can't help but make comparisons to Demarai Gray for Mavididi. So fast but refuses to use it, just constantly dropping the shoulder then stopping and hesitating. Very frustrating, a waste of a position at times, his only real role is trying to drag the opposition full backs wide, but everytime we do that, we play the ball into Mav and he takes so long to make a decision the defenders just structure themselves again.
  7. Fantastic shout tbh. Think after his end here and time at St.Etienne he needs a fresh start. He’s very good at stabilising clubs and building them for the future, knows the ownership and I assume the owners would trust him to rebuild off the pitch as well as on.
  8. This whole situation is a giant mess, I’ve been disgusted by the governments and media in the west in their largely one sided, bias reporting, the BBC now taking a kicking for refusing to call Hamas terrorists, which is literally the point of neutral journalism to not take sides. Just as the BBC are not calling previous terrorist attacks from Israel prior to the Hamas attack “terrorism” The bloodthirst of the west is damning. Don’t get me wrong for a second, the world would be a better place with Hamas gone in my opinion, but right now the media and west are essentially giving Israel the green light to just destroy everyone and anything. One of Israel’s top politicians even admitted they are going for “damage not accuracy” That does stray from the “official” Israeli government line of “targeting” Hamas, but the evidence shows they are going for damage. You cannot target Hamas by dropping tens of thousands of bombs on an area densely packed with innocent people. There has also been a very big myth floating around that Hamas were voted for by these innocent people, correct me if I’m wrong but the “vote” for Hamas was in the 2006 election, and Hamas and Fattah went into power sharing negotiation over Gaza (which failed) and resulted in Hamas taking Gaza by FORCE. Not by vote. Then consider half the population of Gaza are children that didn’t have the ability to vote in 2006 and this myth is very damaging. In 2019 I think it was, There was a peaceful protest to the occupation where Hamas never fired a single bullet, and Israel attacked the peaceful protest killing hundreds of people. There are reports that *appear* to have been proven by human rights organisations of white phosphorus being used, which in the context of how it’s being used looks to be a war crime (it can be used legally for marking for example but it’s not being used this way) My understanding of this is that Hamas have even previously said that a 2 state solution is viable if they go back to 1967 lines, but their justification for continuing this war is that those lines are occupied by Israel. The ICJ have said themselves that Israel is illegally occupying the region. Hamas are a disgusting vile cult and the world would be best rid of them, but the justification for war crimes, occupation, and slaughter of innocent children is just as reprehensible. The long and complex history of this region with crimes from both sides spanning thousands of years, and 70+ in its current iteration is being completely swept under the carpet, in my opinion in the hopes Israel can go in, wipe out Hamas, force regime change to a more westernised puppet government. That’s the only reason I can think of that this is all being ignored for. I won’t for a moment pretend I know everything on this subject and I’m more than happy to be corrected as it’s important to know the truth, but right now from my understanding of this situation, the bias has been incredibly blatant from our government/most of our media.
  9. Sorry I’ve only just seen this, yeah it’s a huge risk for his career but have to respect the fact he backs himself. Also could be a risk to the club if he’s not up to the job, the window to save them from relegation this season is closing soon already
  10. Sheffield Wednesday close to signing who I think is a very exciting future manager, Danny Röhl. As some may know I’m a big fan of the Ralf Rangnick school of football and the way that he developed German football into their dominant era. Röhl was very much part of that as assistant coach at Leipzig, before following Hassenhuttl to Southampton, move to become assistant to Hansi Flick at Bayern before his most recent role as Assistant to the German national team. Would love to see Röhl get some time to steady the ship and start to implement his style of football.
  11. Stay safe Craig, I don't need to tell you plenty of water and shade but just make sure you're safe, one thing I really couldnt understand during the practice/sprint shootout session is just how many stands seemed to be uncovered/roofless? Fans from all over the world will be travelling there that simply are not used to these kinds of intense heats and then to be expected to sit in a stand that does not have any protection is just crazy. They really shouldn't be driving here but we know that oil money speaks and the FIA largely just pretend to care about driver safety until we talk money. I just can't imagine what it would be like for those drivers, none of them really prepared for those sorts of conditions given where most of them come from and how many years most have spent in the UK and how acclimitised they would be to our temps. Only another 8 years of this qatar race deal to go....
  12. That was another thing I saw, every driver was opening their visor to get cold air in, the obvious solution would be not to race in the desert for the oil money, but even if next year the race is pushed back 6 weeks it will still be unbearable. It was 32c at 10pm at night when I checked. Their bodies just are not used to this. But regarding the visor specifically, there must be some way to design a helmet for these conditions, even if it's slightly heavier (providing the drivers necks can withstand it) that offers up just as much protection for proper ventillation, I mean even if the helmet was 5% less protected, it can't be any more dangerous than drivers opening their visor mid race or driving with their wrists/losing vision.
  13. Terrible. From the after show I saw them talk about: Sargeant having to retire because he felt unwell, Leclerc said that by the end his vision was blurry due to dehydration, Fernando half way thorough the race asked his engineer if they could throw bottles of water on his race suit at the next pitstop, George was driving down the main straight at 300+ kmh using his wrists to steer so that he could guide cold air into his visor, and Ocon was literally sick inside of his helmet on lap 16 and had to drive the race with sick in his balaclava.
  14. This is the part that annoys me the most, Lewis/George could have fought for the win on the evidence of how fast that Merc was, considering George was taken out, had to rejoin the track with dusty tyres, had an extra pitstop throwing off his strategy, and then have to fight through the field, to get 4th was an insane drive. Would have been so great to see both mercs in full health pushing to the limit today, who knows what the result would be.
  15. Great drive from Max, Piastri and Norris on the podium is great to see but what a monster recovery race from George, 4 pitstops and finished 4th having recovered from last position. Fantastic drive and has to be DOTD. Harsh conditions out there with Sargeant having to DNF because he felt unwell, and seeing George coming down the main straight steering with his wrists trying to divert cool air into his helmet shows just how hard it is out there.
  16. I think the pressure has basically destroyed Perez at this point. Another 5s penalty, his head is gone.
  17. Just a random list of players who initially caught my eye out of contract in the summer (on the basis they don't get an extension) Hannibal - United Joel Matip - Liverpool (100k a week may accept less) Tiago Djalo - CB at Lille
  18. I love Lewis, him and Max are my favourite drivers in the current grid, always loved Lewis and I genuinely don't believe he's "finished", his driving yesterday and multiple times this season show he's got the talent to fight at the very top, but his mistakes during this new era have been concerning, maybe the car just doesnt suit him? but either way he's making more mistakes these last 2 seasons than I can ever remember, he's always been an aggressive driver and contact comes with the territory, but it just feels like more and more of these incidents are a result of lapses in judgement rather than racing incidents. Today, Monza vs Oscar, or Spa vs Alonso for example. Really want him to come back.
  19. Looking forward to a big George recovery now. Hopefully he has not got any other damage.
  20. I don't think he will, I think it's just heat of the moment and he will probably own up to it later. Typical F1 driver reaction really.
  21. George apologising but it's just not warranted.
  22. **** me Lewis what are you doing, i'm one of his biggest fans, that's just absolutely horrendous driving. Gave george absolutely zero room. Very poor mistake.
  23. Fantastic result for Piastri, looks a future world champion recently and I hope that continues. Max fully deserved the championship obviously, he's been pretty much flawless this season, have to say in the current Drive to Survive/Tiktok generation of F1 fans it's very frustrating being both a Lewis and Max fan, really hoping that now Mercedes have finally given up on their current car design and can spend the entire budget next season designing a car that is closer to Merc/Mclaren we can see a proper battle between Lewis and Max next season, hopefully with Ferrari and Merc right with them. Honestly not a fan of this track at all, looks great for an onboard with the fast flowing corners but it's pretty awful for racing, most of the battles came down to which driver would suddenly get a huge snap of oversteer and be forced to back out, or which driver would hit huge understeer mid corner, it was way too dusty anywhere outside of the racing line, the moment drivers tried to go off the racing line to make a move it was like driving on ice.
  24. Also huge shoutout to @whoareyaaa for their efforts in breaking the world record for number of times posting the same link in a single thread.
