  1. daka scored in a 2-0 win
  2. There are lots of culpable people, but that doesn’t deflect anything from Rudkin. If I hire a financial advisor and he tells me to do something, I trust him. If he makes horrific decisions loses my money and breaks financial rules… I’m still culpable for trusting him but the buck still falls with the guy who was in a position to be an expert on that stuff. im not divorcing my wife because she didn’t tell me to sack him sooner. I’m not leaving my kids because i’ve let them down. The easiest, smartest move is to get rid of the person who’s main job is to facilitate everything financial (or football in this case) The main reason Top is also to blame and arguably all the board, is because they didn’t fire him in the summer. That’s like my financial advisor lost 75% of my money but i decided to give him more as he promised to get it all back… again culpable but a change of owner is far less needed than a change of board or just rudkin to be quite frank
  3. This tweet hits home pretty hard. As a football fan not just LCFC The premier league is popular because anyone can beat anyone, it’s really not all that bizarre to hear that luton beat man city. Brighton beat man u 4-0 or any other madness. These rules make that ridiculously hard.
  4. we’ve really messed up football for me now. All season i’ve enjoyed routing for the newly promoted teams to win because It seemed inevitable that we’d join them. Now there’s the terrifying prospect that somehow you end up with bigger clubs like everton and forest joining us down in the EFL. Which would absolutely make the task of promotion a much harder task. A scenario of us starting in a points deficit and having Everton, southampton and forest to compete with is not an enticing one.
  5. i like the optimism but we’d be lucky to get 2-3m for nyoni. 6m is the current highest ever receieved.
  6. I think we’d have to play the loan market the old fashion way. Not the loan to buy, just purely we know, they know, it’s just a season. We’ve avoided it for good reason in recent times but it’s the only way to really protect ourselves. Omari Hutchinson looks to be ready for the prem, players like that on a pure loan would make a lot of sense. Only issue is that so many clubs will be pressured to selling those type of players now to meet their own ffp issues. it’s a vicious cycle
  7. I think he could land a good job still even if we bottle it. It would be easy to spin the idea that the chaos around the club led to our downfall rather than his management.
  8. Congrats on the new job Nick De Marco
  9. I wanted to write in about my son who was voted player of the year but his club decided to give it to someone else. We’re all thinking of you young Alex, love from Papa Smithies
  10. cmon then, do your thing folks!
  11. this deal becomes more fascinating now, surely if this deal was so close to the ffp edge the club are sure we will pass this year (prem or efl i’m not sure) but if not, surely we’d just do the deal as a little more for sensei wouldn’t make the punishment any worse 🤔
  12. I mean it’s just pure white saviour complex
  13. we are incredibly lucky that we got this summer right. We couldn’t afford a complete failed deal and thankfully the majority of what we did was good business. It gives me faith that even under tight restrictions we could still do well, I like what i’ve seen of glover. He gets a free pass for the relegation. window as far as i’m concerned but Kristiansen is looking like some player.
  14. exactly what it’s intended to do. Its not like anyone outside that cartel could afford it. One thing with MGW though, is that he already cost a fortune. So how much exactly could they gain from this. He’s surely not worth more than the 40 they paid. Personally only see a 25m player there
  15. besides the very obvious reasons why top won’t fire rudkin, doing so would be the club admitting we have failed… which while we are fighting it legally we would not want to do. even if this is the final straw rudkin won’t be fired until we are found guilty and have had no success with appeals
  16. a good manager would still get top 6. Problem is that we will be on a points dedication as well and no championship club would have ever been close to how badly we will breach. minus 15 minimum imo
  17. we might have to start yunus every game just to have a chance of having some players next season 😂
  18. there’s a scenario where we find ourselves in the championship under a real siege mentality and we see a return of sir nige!
  19. this might be part of the joke, but why are his hands fake?
  20. is there a chance it would be like silva though, we still have to buy him but can’t register the player? Football manager is going to be interesting with us next season.
  21. That takes brain cells and not the feeling that they can do whatever they want. Seems to me like they are coordinating a scenario where we are screwed if we go up and screwed if we don’t
  22. i’m fired up. Bristol are going to get an absolute whooping!
  23. I think this is the opposite. The prem are telling the EFL to come at us and seeing as they are pushing for their new deal the EFL will do anything they say. They want to squeeze us as hard as possible. It’s outrageous that they want you to comply with financial terms by blocking activity in the transfer window. No club can just sell and not replace in some format
  24. I think what hurts in hindsight (but would have stung like hell at the time) is that this was the time to fleece 100m for youri. Possibly more.
  25. Oh i don’t deny that, on the whole it was bad business. My post was about the renewal this season. At this stage, it was about stopping him walking for free at the end of this year. I completely agree that previously he shouldn’t have been on that wage. 1 because he wasn’t good enough for where we were or wanted to be. 2 because the wage was too high overall. But at the same time it was a wage structure problem, not about an individual player. I think nobody in their right mind thinks we got that wage structure right. But without enforced FFP, It wasn’t actually the complete wrong way to go. The issue (without ffp) was more down to poor recruitment than actually paying players well, if of course we could afford to do so.
