Bournemouth FA Cup (a) Post Match Thread

omfg I thought this was saturday -
are you telling me, that you don’t want to see fans outside stoke waving a dildo waiting for warnock to arrive to save their season?

if the goal he scored counted (as it should have) the same people would be saying how great he is. The average fans fickle levels are atrocious

Luke Thomas to Middlesbrough until the end of the season
Lambert09 replied to DZ-LCFC's topic in Leicester City Forum
Personally I think he’s a victim of his own success. He was thrown in when we were desperate and he performed well but that lead to the club keeping him around rather than letting him go on the usual loans to learn the trade. His reputation has lead to loan deals now at clubs ahead of where he’s at. I don’t say he’s a league 1 player, but he could really have done with a season in that league. Boro didn’t even really need a left back so this will never work out. Sad story as he’s a nice lad -
curious which of our games people are worried about. For me the Hull and southampton ones are the only 2 i could see a loss happening in. But the odds of losing both are probably quite slim. There will be a random loss or 2 in there as well but surely everyone will drop points somewhere.

everton are surely flushing. how have they blown that

This team needs our sports psychologists back!

we need Dave Rennie back. HJ for all -
Before the season I thought that there was no chance he’d make the step up here, I was very happy to be proven wrong. But was that simply a purple patch? since his injury I just haven’t seen anything from him that makes me excited to see him come on. I know Wanya’s last game wasn’t particularly good, but he has a certain flare about him that gets you a bit more excited. That’s what you want from your winger. If we want someone to do the albrighton role….. just use Albrighton

Why does mavididi keep getting hooked?
Lambert09 replied to Chrysalis's topic in Leicester City Forum
just give akgun a chance on the bloody wing. It’s baffling that we’ve given up on him so quickly. -
i’ve felt all along that we should be focusing on cannon….. but tonight, we were worse when he came on. Daka was a constant nuisance and i’m surprised the miss has caused so much hate on here (not that surprised knowing our fanbase) Mavididi’s was just as bad

I personally think it’s more the system then the players. Because at this level they are obviously more than good enough yet the better teams are still scoring fairly easily. We’ve improved massively at the dark arts and the effort levels have increased. But the actual standard of cutting out chances is still not good enough. I don’t know if this will make sense but we defend to attack. What i mean by that, is we don’t defend to just get pressure off. Which sometimes you have to do. Our midfielders when trying to make a tackle aren’t necessarily trying to just stop the attack, they are looking to nick a ball away and counter. Now that’s not always a bad thing. But when you’re trying to shut a game down, smash them off the ball and hoof it anywhere. That’s my take. There was a large number of little half arsed clearances around our box today, because we are thinking more about trying to keep the ball. It just invites pressure and in football if you invite it, you get punished. It was a good performance today and yet we’ve crumbled again and It felt inevitable. Between giving the ball away trying to play out and not getting the basics of defending right, I just think it’s going to hard. I think what enzo does is great, but I also think he will always be better suited to a top side than a bottom half. I want to be wrong I really do, but I’m not sure how his system works when we aren’t the best side on the pitch.
-
I think this is the problem we would have if we go up, we aren’t defensively strong enough in this system and we aren’t clinical enough. So in games where we get less chances and have more pressure on us…. well it’s not going to be pretty for us. We just fold too easily i’m lost for words really

Hamza will never be rated by some despite being pretty good in most games he’s played this season. People can’t wait to blame him
-
completely ignore the fact that all 3 teams that came down lost their spots to clubs coming up from the championship the year before . ordinarily you might have to deal with one established club coming down so it’s hardly a shock that if 3 established clubs come down they are likely to be well placed to get back up.

edit i had a mare

it’s those back post crosses i’m picturing as well. How many times has he hit stephy at the back post. It’s definitely a big chance but stephy not going to head many goals in for a team. Big chances aren’t always easy chances is my point, tends to be more about the area of the pitch you’d receive it. Doesn’t matter if one player has to do an overhead and one taps in a knockdown.
-
I know that was a joke, but if one player is playing a perfect pass and the other is fizzing one in, there is a logic behind some players having more chances converted. Im not saying thats what it is, as youd have to watch them all back. But alot of fatawu's are likely fizzing them accross the box, where as KDH is more likely to be cutting a chance back or playing a through ball

I see a lot of negativity around the Leeds game and not a single person pointing out that i’f we win, that’s essentially the whole thing wrapped up. There’s no way anyone would even see us as a rival after that. Hoping we bring our A game and give them a bit of a stuffing!
-
it’s the cocaine on them that gets you there

wow great set of results to take the pressure off maybe not

yeah I believe the west ham deal involved half of his wages being covered. If memory serves my right, it was maguire that turned it down after the clubs agreed everything. As a newly promoted side, i’m not against breaking the mould of transfers and bringing in a few more proven players. You need that experience and we don’t really have enough of it. I think that maguire is certainly good enough for where we are at though
-
I think a large part of our success was because we had someone so capable of pulling the strings from the back. I do also agree with many that don’t think he will make the step up as the defending becomes so much more important and I just don’t think he’s strong enough. The conundrum, is that we won’t get a cb who can pass as a well as him, as they are what everyone wants and we simply won’t afford it. We’d need to gamble on a young unproven player which you me would suggest we need to keep vesty around until they settle. It would be a pretty big gamble to let him walk for free if he wants a new deal. More so than the risk that we adequately replace him and his wages sit on the bench. I will be laughed at, but Harry Maguire would genuinely be very good to have back in this role. He was more than capable on the ball and 15- 20m would get it done if the reports from this year were true. But with FFP i’m not sure how we manage that fee on an older player.
