I hope not! Winks and Vestergaard are hand made for a Martin team. I’m not so down on Martin as others are, although I do feel it could go a better Paulo Sousa quick time. I do think having a Winks onside though, could help Martin lift the team. It’ll also benefit by cutting the dead wood and shite we’ve accumulated, Soumare, Faes, Kristiansen etc

I mean, people are digging out Winks. We were far better when we had Soumare and Kristiansen, who’s great attitude of not wanting to be even at the club when we were in the Championship were putting in 11/10 performances each week. Sometimes things get blown out of context. Without knowing how he was asked, who are we to judge. As @Finnegan alluded to, 99% of us will likely state that RVN is likely our worst ever head coach. Winks is a very good, technical, tidy player. I can honestly say, if Vardy had received this treatment and lived in the same area as Winks, more would have defended him. He’s become a scapegoat of an underperforming team.

Maybe so, however he was okay under Maresca. In fact, it could be something as simple as he expects higher standards, so called out Cooper and RVN?

He was bombed out of the squad by RVN and basically suspended indefinitely wasn’t he? How is that a deserter? He offers far more than Bouba. Sometimes things happen but for the greater good, you have to kiss and make up. Reading between the lines, I’d likely say that the truth lies somewhere in between.

King Power clearly have a “system”, which they want to progress toward. Lots on here dub it “Manchester City”, however it’s basically possession based, controlling, strangling the life out of the oppression team. Some would deem this “boring”. I’d peg him down as one of our worst ever signings. Signed for an eye-watering fee and handed a wage packet fit for a superstar, he arrived with the hype of a game-changer and the attitude of someone who’d rather be anywhere else. From day one, he looked utterly disinterested, moping around the pitch like a lost tourist, offering next to nothing in effort, end product, or even basic enthusiasm. His performances have been so invisible, we’ve often joked he must’ve been wearing camouflage as he’s never involved! He appears to be a sulking presence off the pitch and a ghost on it He’ll go down as one of the most expensive, least effective, and utterly joyless signings the club has ever made. I’m hoping that’s the last time he ever plays for us.

I’ve watched some tactical stuff and I’m not convinced he’s the worst we could make. We’ll likely go back to a box midfield like we did under Maresca, with the inverted fullback cutting inside to bolster that. If you consider he’s likely to bring Vestergaard and Winks back into the fold, these will suit the style he plays and also help us with ball retention. Skipp plays alongside Winks in the midfield. I’d imagine Fatawu and Mavididi are the two wide players. The main areas of concern for me are the goalkeeper and forward. Ideally you want a false 9 like Firminho to drop in a the 10 at times, allowing space for the wide players to cut inside. Daka isn’t that player. Stolarkzyk can’t distribute a ball and that concerns me.
