I agree. We’ve always pushed the rules. I don’t agree with the rules, however we know what they are. If we are in that much of a mess, surely we’d have been better keeping KDH, not signing Skipp, then shipping out some of the higher earners with little to no book value at the start of the season like Ricardo, Vestergaard, Vardy who we could have got money for after a good season in the Championship. Why we signed Eduoard as well ….. FFS! We need to clean the slate. You can see why we are signing the likes of Reid and Ayew on significantly less wages. It’s a disgusting mess.

He had KDH covering for him last season, which complimented him. Our team this season, is worse than the one that came up. Dropping Winks and playing Soumare isn’t exactly the formula for success (in my opinion). Winks is a metronome player. He’s like Joe Allen, Michael Carrick etc of years gone by. These players have a use but are often overlooked. Winks has clearly fallen out of favour with Cooper and RVN. However both has also made other bizarre decisions, so I’ll reserve my judgement on if they have a future with us, until we have a competent head coach.

I’ve said it a few times. Winks / Vestergaard compliment each other, in a certain system (Maresca / Pep) that involves passing the opposition to sleep / tiredness. If we are playing that way, they do a good job. They look after the ball. The challenge is if you then pass to someone who loses it, you get exposed on the turnover. Great players in the right system, a major headache when a new coach comes in and wants to play a different way.
