My point is, every 5yrs and at the rate it’s going, 4yrs, the equivalent of a town the size of the 36th largest in the UK & there are over 2000 towns, enters illegally & most being male will stay in 1 way or other. Now take that number and then just double it as they bring partners over forgetting for the minute kids and extended family, with 1 double jump you’re now in city territory Cardiff, Stoke just short of Leicester & remember these have come in illegally on fake perhaps documents? we really don’t know who they are & as I say this is only assuming they claim a single family member. If you were to build a town in England just for those that came via boats, of which most are granted asylum or fade into the woods, from 2021 to present day that town would become the 33rd largest urban development in England alone (over 1000) and be made up of predominantly males (181k) Sustainable?

I don’t get the ‘doesn't get forward much..’ comments because often he’s further forward than Mavi & certainly provides overlaps for Mavi to use..but there lies the issue, Mavi is not utilising it as he should. Often last night Thomas sprinted past him & Mavi never played it on with him mostly trying to use the foil and cut inside & 9/10 he either lost possession in a tackle or passed it directly to their defenders who then pumped it into the enormous space left behind with Thomas ahead of Mavi, although, Thomas would even beat Mavi to get back often having to commit a cynical foul in the process. Thomas does put a shift in and is asked to do more than the RB who is generally tasked to cover midfield. Thomas is suffering from the JJ (Justin on the right) effect of having to cover the entire left side and fans just seeing his position empty when a fast break, as described, is executed. In Enzo’s system he was a more traditional LB and was there to act as the 3rd CB (Doyle role) with JJ (Justin) doing the work off the right. Marti and staff are accused of not improving a single player but I’d argue they have improved Thomas’s attacking play, he’s in the box to take shots, he’s overlapping more and his crossing has improved but pushing your fullback into an attacking fullback will always leave gaps hence why JJ was often accused for us conceding. Yes his 1-1 defending needs to improve & needs to stop diving in but he’s not as bad as being made out.

& people would have blamed Thomas there if they broke down into an empty LB area from Mavs poor pass but Thomas just a gut to get ahead of Mav to either draw a player with him or to take a pass but Mav cuts in and passes to them

It’s understanding the pattern of play, people like to point towards their usual suspects but the break came from a mistake by JJ and then JJ and Fats being taken out the game with a simple pass, Hamza has to go wide to the player but it’s cut back to players running on, it’s simple but not a CB issue. The still makes it look like JJ & Fats trotting back but they have already been played out the phase and the speed of break meant they were never getting back to take up a position centre of goal
