Tbh Kingy should dust off his boots and play himself.

We can't start Page and Choudhury in the middle, end of. Aribo is probably better than Hamza, and is better than Page at this point in his young career. Winks attitude still a question mark, and James out injured, it would be stupid not to sign someone. Some combo of Aribo/Skipp/Winks until JJ is back will be better than what we started with on Sat.

It's just a backup option while other players get fit tbf, nothing to get excited about - but it is what it is

Well we'll definitely score then.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

Wouldn't have thought it would be much at all, but agree. Be surprised if they've even heard of him, let alone if they're considering him for the job. -

You've said this about 5 times now - I'm sure you think it's very funny - but he's also been Director of Football at arguably the best sporting university in the country, his work with the England national Futsal team was impressive, he's worked with England u18s, he's worked with Leeds u21s and been their interim manager, and his current side are only 12 places below us in the football pyramid, where he's done a stellar job with very little budget, outperforming lots of historically bigger clubs. He's not just a PE teacher from Lutterworth College is he? It's like calling Postecoglu a Australian lower league manager because that's where he started out. Incidentally I don't think we should be looking at a manager who lost 60% of his games in his final season with a historically top 6 club and recorded their lowest ever lowest ever finish in football's modern era, before going to our rivals and losing nearly every single game and getting sacked after a month. -

Well we're not in one at the minute? 17th in form table, not great, not absolutely dreadful either - there are plenty of teams doing worse than us, on fewer points. As I said, closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone. Obviously a pts deduction changes the outlook, but we don't know what that will be. -

I keep hearing that the players need a 'kick up the arse' - do we really think this load of over-paid, underperforming prima donnas will respond (or even give a shit) if some Sam Allardyce style character comes in and starts throwing his weight around? I really, really doubt it. -

Tbh, if you're out of work - like Rowett, for example - a cushy 4 month contract on big money at the 5* Seagrave Hotel & Spa would be pretty enticing tbh. If you keep us up, it boosts your profile, maybe you get a perm contract, if we go down - "oh well, they were a basket case and they got a pts deduction". Sounds like the owners don't want an interim anyway. -

I don't particularly think we're in a relegation fight, we're closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone. Definition of mid table, we win 1-2 games then lose 1-2 games, throw in the occasional draw here and there. This will obviously change based on any points deduction we get, and the club will likely have some idea of what that might be. I'm wary of just going for 'has managed a lot of teams/games in the championship and will give the players a kick up the arse' as our main metric for getting someone through the door - the last time we tried to get someone with a bit of experience in to shore things up, it was Dean Smith and we got relegated. It just smacks of a lack of confidence to me personally. I would take someone like Pearson until the summer, provided the board were clear it was an interim job, but from what I've read they want to make a permanent appointment, which means whoever we go for is likely to be here beyond the summer. I'd really like the owner and the board to think about what they want this football club to be, what it's identity is - and be brave and appoint a manager with a long term strategy. This experiment which started well with Rodgers and has basically seen us in decline ever since needs to end, we need a reset. I don't think appointing a firefighter is going to help us in the long run unfortunately, neither will appointing another possession merchant. -

He's finished - he's back in Sweden managing their national team isn't he? -

The more I read about Skubala the more I like what I hear to be honest. We have had great success in our recent history by taking a punt on up-and-coming coaches - Maresca and Pearson had done nothing of note particularly before they came to us. Skubala seems to have done a fantastic job given the lack of resources at Lincoln. They also seem to play very much like we did when we had Vardy, Mahrez and Kante in their pomp. Don't worry about having 60-70% possession, be effective, press, and counter. We have to get away from the Pep-lite version of football that bores us all to death. I don't think there is the desire or appetite to appoint a coach like him though, I fear we will go with some washed up Championship duffer in the name of 'experience' or just go for someone like Russell Martin to keep on with this crap possession football. -
Genuinely think the silver lining of not going up this season is that Monga, Page, Aluko, Nelson, Braybrooke, Alves, Evans, Cartwright etc will be in a MUCH better place to contribute next season significantly. Get the right manager, let some contracts expire, and we could have the makings of a young, half-decent squad.

I would genuinely rather let King have a go until the end of the season, rather than get the chancer Russell Martin in. We so desperately need to abandon this idea of playing like Man City - that is NOT the Leicester way of playing, regardless of what Top would have us believe. The Leicester way of playing is what was instilled in this side by Pearson and evolved by Ranieri - not this Guardiola-lite rubbish that the likes of Maresca, Cifuentes, Martin etc are obsessed with. Even under Enzo it was dreary beyond belief. Anyone remember when we used to regularly beat Guardiola playing our own brand of football? My memory's not so short. -
Everyone always says this but it never, ever happens. The club aren't going to pay to get rid of assets for nothing when they might be able to get a fee - even if the majority of the time they don't manage to do so.

Mine doesn't shine - well, I don't think it does anyway - I've seen some people get like wax and stuff to actually make it more shiny. I didn't know a gleaming bonce was a desirable thing. **** me though, love how it feels after a fresh bic shave.

We've got more chance of getting a blowjob from the pope than getting Joel Piroe in, we're shopping for bargain basement shit like Lyndon Dykes! That's our market!
-
Presumably on loan, where we pay all his wages

Our only decent player and he's not even ours.

Really lads, you will have a MUCH better time it you stay at home and ignore the result. East leftovers, have some chocolate, have a few drinks, spend time with your loved ones. I went out with my family for a bottomless brunch during the QPR game and completely forgot to check up on things, highly recommend it. -
Fury would 1000000% do this if he had a few million waved at him

Don't think my 6 and 3 year old would want to sit in the rain and watch us getting pumped by Sheff U

This really sums things up doesn't it? Architects of our own downfall.
