I’m watching a dominating performance, I would argue perhaps our best performance of the season, and I can’t believe some can’t see how good it’s been. Not just in possession, but not allowing them any possession or to get moving. The chances have been their and not surprising the area we have most players out today is the only part lacking. We get that final ball right and this could be 4 or 5.

I’m not sure you’re watching the same game as me. We’ve dominated the whole game and been by far the best team. Final ball has let us down 4 or 5 times, if we get that right we are smashing these. It really has been an excellent performance so far.

Apologies in advance, it’s a 7am kickoff here, the absolute latest I can leave the house is 9am, so if there’s a bit of time added on, I could be one of those sneaking off early.

I was just reading that Ipswich Manager Kieran McKenna is on the shortlist for the Crystal Palace job. Got me thinking if I were in his shoes, would I leave Ipswich for Palace - and I don’t think I would. Palace are a Premier League Club, and have been for roughly half the seasons since the PL began, but have done nothing, an FA Cup final, but haven’t ever pushed into challenging for a European spot. When you think in the last 20 odd years Leicester, Ipswich, Stoke, Birmingham, Wigan, Portsmouth, Southampton, Middlesbrough and a few more have all played in Europe. Crystal Palace are pretty much at their limit, where as, Ipswich have hit those highs not too long ago and even won a European trophy within the life time of a lot of their supporters. Anyway, hopefully the speculation unsettles them a little bit.

I remember the Forest game at home last season when we needed a win, also a Monday night from memory and the crowd was well up for it, and it translated into a performance on the pitch. Need the same tonight v Ipswich.

You say Leeds are basically unbeatable at home this season, but other than Ipswich is there anyone in playoff contention that you have played and beaten at home? I think Leeds are still way to inconsistent to go up this season, with us and Southampton being pretty consistent and putting together big unbeaten runs, Leeds will have to do something special in the remaining 18 games to challenge the top 2, whilst also hoping the the 2 or the three team above them lose focus and drop their form. I can’t se them being a threat in the playoffs down to their inconsistency. I actually think Cov could be the team that is best suited to playing in the playoffs and could go up next season. We’ve just got to keep doing our thing, if we can get a win against Ipswich, the next 4 are winnable games.

4 3rd place teams also qualify for the next round, so in theory they could qualify as they are if Tanzania don’t beat DR Congo and other groups results go their way. Currently they are the joint 2nd best 3rd place team.

7 points when this game is finished, which could be 10 by the time we’ve played our game. Which then if we have two bad results they could then be within another result of being above us. At the start of this round of fixtures they need us to lose 4 games, then they also need to win every game. We’ve lost only 4 games in our first 27! Relax there is nothing to suggest we will lose another 4 in the last 19 and if we do they need to 100%

On current form Southampton finish nowhere near us, don’t forget despite our loss last week our form has been just as good as theirs over the last 19 games and we have a 10 point lead over them.
