I wonder if we can knock them all off this season?

Based on what I’ve seen so far, Leeds, Ipswich, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and one other maybe West Brom - not spectacular, but getting the job done make up the top 6. I really think now Boro appear to have clicked they will be our biggest threat and I would tip them to go up in second.

First team we’ve played who I am certain will be in the top 6 at the end of the season. They played well, but if we take our chances that could have been 3 or 4. Referee wasn’t great, which was a shame, both teams could/ should have had a penalty. But we take another 3 points and move on to QPR.

How many more chance before we get that second? Sometimes with Iheanacho, you know when it’s just not his day. He misses a couple and gets frustrated. Time to get the goat on.

I thought he was growing into the game the longer the half went on, started slowly, but looked to get more involved and was involved in a couple of chance we created towards the end.

Interesting thought with Winks, he is one booking away from a ban. Personally, I’d be telling him to get a booking second half and put his feet up against QPR, rather than risk picking up a booking in that game and missing the Leeds game.

Only 20 minutes in, but I’d say these are by far the best team we’ve played in the Championship this season.

Or a message to the players that there are no free passes here, players who want to be in the match day squad need to earn it. Im sure if there was a young lad earning that position, they’d get it.

It’s tough adapting to a new league, with a new manager and lots of ins and outs. We even lost one game whilst adapting… As for Spence, he’s good, no doubt, but he’s a long way behind Ricardo who has done it at the top level and James Justin who pre injury was in the England squad.

For the record, my comments were not necessarily that he’s bad at defending, I just think Connor Coady is the better defender of the two.

I think those games is where we use the squad, Coady is the better defender and I would play him over Vestergaard. Vestergaard would be the preferred starter against teams where they will sit back and we will have a lot of the ball, but Coady and even Souttar will be better options against the top teams. This season we have two players for each position and we have to be careful to use each player in a role and against the opponent that they are most suited.

Soumare is such an odd player, he has all the attributes to be a top, top player and every now and then really shows what he is capable of, then he plays a game where he just doesn’t look interested.

Hermansen has been amazing what a great signing!! But he is still number 2 to Kasper for Denmark for all those comparing the two. I think he has the potential to be on par with Kasper, but still a long way to go before we can claim he is better.

I see your point here about the last 15 minutes, but the more I watch us play this season, the more I think this is part of Enzo’s plan - play the ball around and wear teams out for 70 odd minutes, then hit them in the last 20. I think I’m right in saying we haven’t conceded a second half goal since the opening day, let alone one in the last half an hour. And other than Hull, we’ve scored at least one goal every game in the last 20 minutes - these sorts of things don’t happen by accident. The finishing could have been slightly better today, but the fact we’re creating chances and the quality of player we have in the final third means we’ll not be kept out too often this season.

It’s not really, that means you’ve lost 2 or 3 top quality players, who all need replacing. Nett spend is a way better way of looking at what a team is actually doing in the transfer market.
