You’ve perhaps got two players that would get anywhere near our starting 11. I’m still not all that impressed by Leeds, in the game against us they worked really hard off the ball, but I thought they were poor with the ball. The only chances they created were from our mistakes. Huge week for them, big win last week, they will need to follow it up this week.

There was never any way us and Ipswich could keep up our ridiculous starts to the season. In the Championship there is always strange results, I remember going to the Hawthorns in the season we were relegated and WBA were flying and we beat them 4-1. There will be a lot of freak results along the way. The question is, is anyone in the chasing back good enough to win 12 or more points than us over 31 games?

I honestly can’t see how any football fan can say they enjoy a game with VAR more than without it. It completely takes all enjoyment out of the game, and it’s getting worse 2/3 minutes sometimes more after a goal is scored and they are still looking at the positioning of a players armpit hair to decide if a perfectly good goal should stand or not.

Southampton have been bloody woeful at times this season. They may have had an uplift in form, but they’re not even close to the best team in the league - all this proves is XG is a crap stat that means feck all.

You know it’s bad up north when even the spiders don’t want to move there.

Every week it’s the same, decent games of football, some great goals, performances by teams and individuals and all we are talking about is VAR. Just step back, accept human errors will occur and get on with it. Let the referee in the middle make a decision with the two linesmen. Anything other than goalline technology is just moving the decision from one man’s subjective real time opinion, to another persons subjective opinion after watching for 2 or 3 minutes on a screen.

FFS, I hate VAR, do we really want goals ruled out for offsides as close as this? Its taken almost 5 minutes already.

We can’t win them all, I thought they were better than us off the ball and that was probably the biggest difference for me tonight. My biggest worry, is the forward role, Vardy was anonymous, and I don’t think Iheanacho works in this system. Not sure if Cannon offers something a bit different. Any ideas why the match has been abandoned?

The question is, would we have been good enough had Everton been forced to balance the books? We were the final team relegated, we made it clear due to FFP we couldn’t improve our squad, if Everton had done the same, would they have been 2 points worse off?? If we had the same disregard for FFP and brought in new players, could we have picked up 1 more win and stayed up? Its all hypothetical and there is no way of telling for certain, but I can see where the argument is.
