I think it unlikely that we will leave ourselves with Okoli, Vestergaard and Coady as our only CB options.

Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21

100% we go strong on Friday in the hope Man U put out a weakened side and we get a moral boosting win. We have been crap at giving opportunities for years. -
Of which both ended up playing with 10 men, we would have lost both without the sending-offs.
-
I find good people generally don't just come just for money, we would have to have a strong leadership vision from the top, no pun intended! We need some serious surgery which would need Top to be brave enough to move Rudkin on.
-
We have sold 3 players in Chilwell, Barnes and KHD who have brought in 130m to the clubs coffers. We should be doubling down and investing more not closing it!
-
We aren't going to be in the position of bringing in an elite DOF or CEO. But what we can do is look for talented individuals and provide an opportunity for them to grow and become those! But before you do that, you have to have a vision, mission and strategy! Vision = what you want to accomplish Mission = how you will achieve your vision And be brave enough to open and share it people can hold you to account!

I think it is a lack of strategic alignment, we need a vision, and strategy, which operational activities align with. We have the physical infrastructure in place i.e. Seagrave, but you have to create the culture, which is continuously shaped through actions and interactions of club employees. We need a DOF who believes in it and then employs a manager and coaches who believe in it. We can have the best buildings, coaches, and scouts, but without employing a manager who is going to bring them into the first team, it will not work! 100% If they had come out in the summer and said we are in a mess and we need to cut spending short term to sort it out, but we are going to focus on developing our home grown players, people would have brought into it. We could have gone down that route, rather than buying Skipp, Okoli and Ayew for 50m, we blood Nelson, Alves and Braybrooke. People who had local lads to get behind. The outcome probably is the same, we get relegated with maybe fewer points, but we build for the future, don't gather more dead wood, save money and develop sellable assets!

This article is an interesting read with lots of thoughts from, former loan manager and academy coach Guy Branston on that future tribunal Inside Trey Nyoni's move to Liverpool and tribunal case with Leicester City - Liverpool Echo I don't think not playing Monga protects us, in fact, it probably gives us a stronger case if he plays. I think our focus needs to shift to developing talent from our Academy and to buying talent for development. Become the club of choice for talent to go to, knowing they will get game time and be sold on at the right time a bit like Dortmund.

Just want him gone, he’s not a leader here

Yes, I think it was a last throw of the dice, without that change we would have gone down. This feels similar, if we carry on doing the same things we are down, something has to change! -
Cover isn't good enough at the moment for the Championship. Mate a Vale fan so had a lot of feedback on his development.

Someone has to motivate them, that’s the manager job! We are picking more or less the same 11, same formation, same tactic rinse and repeat! It the great escape season NP changed formation and it worked. -

We wouldn’t have got Moyes, but we could have got some how can get us organised and harder to beat. -

Maybe we just picked the wrong person. Look at the line up they put out against us, hardly amazing! -
If he's not going to chuck Alves in I doubt he's chucking in Monga

If you aren't changing the players you need to change the manager. Everton have won 1 in 12, bring in Moyes who has a squad riddle with injuries. 3 win based on organisation and desire. -
He's legs have gone, he's struggled to do 45 minutes in the championship.
-
Don't do it to yourself.

Unlikely

I wouldn't mind us getting relegated if we set our stall out in the summer. If they'd have came out and said we need to rebuild this year is going to be tough but is essential. Then proceed not to spend money on players like Ajew, BDCR, Skipp and Okoli. Instead we could have used Cannon, Alves, Nelson and Braybrooke and gave them experience and saved 50m. Yes we probably would be doing a Southampton but we could have gone down without a load of extra dead wood. In the summer would could have offload more of the shit for cheap, Daka, Soumare, Coady etc. Then done a massive rebuild.
