As much as I want him gone I do believe as part of grieving his father, like he said, aside from playing he tried to back the club as much as he could. More than someone more astute or in the right frame of mind would have done. I think we need to consider what the atmosphere inside the club would have been like at the time. People saying the right things to Top to offer him comfort but he fully trusted those words.
