  1. Haven’t laid a glove on them for all the possession we’ve had. Not building anything down our left (Barnes has been wasteful) and Lookman is far less dangerous on the right. Want: get Nacho on and go 2 up top immediately and give it a go Prediction: keep it the same until 60mins and then make changes. Build up a head of steam and then time out
  2. We can beat these for sure. Hope we don’t regret not being clinical enough though
  3. Why is it so obvious and yet seemingly unavoidable
  4. We all know what’s going to happen right…
  5. Yeah we don’t kill games out very well. We’re naive in that respect. The same thing happened against Rennes (although that was a different circumstance given the atmosphere, what was on the line etc.). We just don’t seem to be able to put the ball in the corner and keep it there or box teams into a certain area. When we’re closing the game out we go into a deep block to protect the space in behind but it just invites wave after wave. I’d love to see us be more aggressive in how we set up and force teams to go long rather than have their back 4 on the half way line and us camped on the edge of our box.
  6. I don’t get this view (unless you’re just saying it and are on the wind-up). He didn’t force a move across to Man U, he hasn’t been embroiled in any off-field antics, he seems to be a fairly quiet, mild-mannered guy. Certainly not a “massive ****” The only thing he is guilty of is being overpriced and overhyped (which wasn’t even his fault)
  7. If Maddison isn’t available, Nacho should play. He’s genuinely so underrated given how productive he is when he gets a decent chunk of playing time. I’d love to have an honest conversation with Rodgers and understand why he doesn’t rate him.
  8. Him and Amartey seem to have found a bit of form together. They look like they understand each others games and know what works and what doesn’t. Long may it continue!
  9. Just checked - Jan ‘21. Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle.
  10. Yeah I keep thinking this…then I try to remember the last time we won 3 prem games in a row. Edit: I know 3 games in hand isn’t the same as winning 3 games in a row but point is still valid.
  11. Yeah read that this morning - seems like a great guy!
  12. He’s one of our own, Not a stately hoooommee, Dewsbury-Hall, He’s one of our own
  13. If Madders is out for wolves then I would love to see us go with Kels and Daka up top. It could be such a lethal pairing and Kels has what is takes to play the second striker role. It’s so annoying that BR doesn’t seem to value him.
  14. Hmm not sure you’ve called that right but let’s wait and see. Rodgers has come out a number of times and spoken about his importance to the side, to the point that he’s even ousted Rodgers own signing. If that’s not showing he has his backing then I don’t know what is
  15. I don’t think this is true. Why isn’t he a Brendan player? He’s energetic, he can pass, he presses. Yes he’s a bit raw but he is definitely a Brendan player.
  16. In, but... He needs to change this mentality of us punching above our weight - yes the 'Big 6' have more money than us, but when we have a fully fit squad we are a match for 4 out of 6 of them He needs to work out how to get our best XI out there more regularly. We can't sustain a push for top 6 if we don't have our best players available and that comes down to him and his coaching staff. I can excuse the freak impact injuries (JJ, Fofana) but the number of muscle injuries is beyond a joke now* Linked to the first point - work out how to see a game out without sitting in and absorbing pressure. This idea that "the momentum is with the other team when you go 1-0 up" is crap. If that was the case teams would never win 2-0, 3-0....9-0. He needs to go back to what he was preaching when he first came in - we need to be more ruthless. Expect more from ourselves and be hard on ourselves when we don't deliver. A mate said to me this morning - "he never looks that bothered when you lose" *fully accept the pressures of a compressed schedule but it still needs to be managed better.
  17. Just listened to the clip. For me, the reference to them going to a back 5 is less a reference to tactics and more about their mental approach. They could easily look at that formation as a 3 atb but it ends up being a 5 as they all drop deeper and deeper. Nothing in it for me.
  18. With the bench we named, it was always going to go this way today. Rodgers has shown that when he has the option of trying to close out a game by sacrificing attackers, he will do. With our bench today, there was no real like for like replacement for Daka. There was also no real replacement for Barnes / Lookman (without sacrificing pace on the counter). As soon as we started making subs, our shape was always going to get more defensive and we’d have less threat going forward. The worrying thing for me is that regardless of subs, there seems to be a mentality that when we go 1-0 up we sit back and stop going for the jugular.
  19. In fairness, first half was much better than the second.
  20. How is this so unbelievable and yet so believable at the same time
  21. Worst game for us. Gave the ball away so often in stupid situations.
  22. The amount of people arguing against you would suggest that people don't agree....
  23. I notice Brendan saying ‘too much, too much’ when Alves got the ball for the second time after coming on. He must have been full of adrenaline, especially after his first couple of touches and the response from the crowd. He does look prone to holding onto the ball too much so I imagine that is going to be a key feature in his development. I personally don’t think we’ll see much of the kids once we get close I our full compliment back. Playing Watford in the cup is a very different prospect to playing against most prem teams in the league. They might get the cup games or feature in the conference league.
  24. Threadworthy…
  25. Making a good case for a permanent for himself. Perez out and him in in the summer would be good business.
