We shouldn’t underestimate the impact of playing against far inferior opposition. He’s literally playing a league below so he should stand out. I’m all for the praise but it needs to be recognised that he is a defender who isn’t really being asked to defend and I would expect that the same deficiencies we saw last season will be apparent next season too.

Agree but they could hardly string a run of 4 appearances together previously. Maybe the intensity of training is different, maybe the fact that we’re generally on top and dominating the ball is also a factor. Either way, long may it last!

Too slow to get the ball wide in the first half and Yunus looked isolated when he did get it as there was no one overlapping / going beyond. Second half was better but we’re still not creating enough (any) real clear cut chances.

I like our incomings but do feel our squad is too big. Will be interesting to see what happens with Daka given rumours about the additional payment milestone at 75 apps. Definitely enough to win the league and think we will be able to extend some of those in their final year if we get promoted (and maresca wants them).

Unnecessary salt. Maresca has definitely implemented his style and you can clearly see what he is trying to do. The problem is that he is doing it with round pegs in square holes. General feeling is that once we get round pegs in round holes we’re start to see more impressive results as we have had to rely on some last minute winners to keep our streak going. Winks has been a good signing as he really suits our style but the main gap is on the wings (although hopefully sorted this week if rumours are believed to be true).

It would be tough not to get it if he does keep us up. That being said, we need to have a vision for where we want to be as club and what we want our identity to be (as we’ve lost our way on that). If Dean Smith fits that then great, but it shouldn’t just be a given if he keeps us up - we need to really consider what our next 5-7 years look like and align the club to that.
