I don’t think that is actually the problem - he’s got the pace over 5 yards to go past defenders both ways. The problem is his decision making - he bloody loves a shot (and sometimes it pays off) but other times he needs to be cuter with it and pick a different option. He’ll go to one of the teams going up this year. His take-on stats are outrageous and he’s got a decent G/A return in a crap side.

Agree with your first point. The difference is generally we haven’t been creating enough chances to offset the amount we give away. Today we did. You think we were lucky to get a point, I think we were unlucky not to come away with all 3. Is what it is.

The point was we’d spent in the same ball park as the relegated sides. Not sure if this includes fees paid for loan players but I’d assume that if we’re in for the same players as the likes of Southampton and Ipswich and they’re willing to pay those sorts of fees, then our only option is to pay them or shop elsewhere. Im not justifying it.

How have we spent that much without signing anyone?! That aside, Ipswich, Southampton and us are the three biggest spenders. All relegated sides. Ultimately, if everyone else is throwing money around to agents and that’s the only way to compete, what are you going to do?

I still think he will go on to have a good career but he needs to eliminate the mistakes. Even against Bristol City he gave away a needless pen. He needs to be rotated in and out. It’s too much pressure for him to be the regular lead CB. Lascelles in next week and let Nelson alternate with him.
