The giveaway that madders is going to be leaving is that he refers to England players as playing at “the big clubs”. He said it last night and it’s down to Southgate’s bias.

We are consistently at the bottom of these or not even on it at all - when it comes to the individual stats (most pressures, dribble success rate, duals won etc.) we're lucky if we've even got one player on them. I know stats can be misleading but in this instance they feel pretty accurate.

This is what I was reflecting on this morning. One of the things that NP was good at was creating a siege mentality where he backed the players no matter what, deflected away from their performances and made them feel like we were all in it together, win or lose. Rodgers has screwed that through his own self-preservation and that is impacting the whole atmosphere around the club and contributing to this media narrative that we’re not strong enough to get ourselves out of this situation. That should be a sackable offence in itself - he’s now working against the club.

Daka can’t play up top on his own. I’d be tempted to go for a 3-5-2 just to get Daka and Nacho playing together.

In fairness (providing we don’t go down) he will always be remembered as the manager than finally won us the FA cup. The issue is, we’re not too good to go the way of Wigan..

We’ve got no balance in the side at the moment. We need to get back to basics because the players look lost and confused as to what they should be doing. Part of this is because Rodgers didn’t get the signings he wanted and so he is trying different things (moving Ndidi into the back 4, playing KDH on the right, inverted full backs etc.) Feels to me that we just need to get back to playing in a way that gives us a solid shape and gets our best players playing in their natural positions - Maddison in the middle, Tielemans as an 8, Ndidi holding etc. I’d even consider putting Perez back out on the right at this point just to get some balance back (and he’s also had some decent cameos of late).

I never want us to lose but feels like the inevitable is going to happen now and winning is just going to prolong it. That being said, what I want is irrelevant as I think we will get spanked regardless.

Who comes here at the moment though? We’re openly telling people we don’t have money to spend, we’re an injury to Maddison away from being well and truly screwed…as opposed to just screwed.

We’re in a different era now. It’s about survival and just getting through it. Give me a boring 14-10th place finish and I would snap your hand off. God I’m dreading Brighton ☹️

Not having Perez lumped in the same bracket as Vestegaard and Bertrand. Not even sure you can class him as a ‘major signing failure’ given he contributed to the FA cup win and 5th place finishes. Musa, Slimani, Silva…all bigger failures than Perez and weren’t cheap buys.

We’re genuinely in trouble this season. We’ve got a manager who doesn’t have the fight in him to drag us out of this mess, we’re losing key players and we’re not able to recruit to replace them, teams around us are strengthening and the promoted teams (Bournemouth aside) look like they are going to compete. On top of all of that, there is a negative feel around the whole club at the moment. Something needs to change soon. ☹️

We need to get Nacho into the team but it’s so hard to do when also playing Tielemans, KDH, Ndidi and Vardy if all fit. Nacho has the ability to pull us through games like he did when he went on that end of season purple patch a couple of years agal, but who do you drop? Bring a new CB in or give Soy and Evans a go again. Get Nacho into the starting 11 somehow and start going for it. We can’t keep turning out performances where we create so few chances…we may not have got anything today but at least we created some decent chances (albeit chasing the game and against 10men). My concern is that we revert back to type and set up agains Man U to ‘control’ the game…zzzzzz

It’s irrelevant whether Vardy or Daka plays if they don’t get service. Today was the first time I remember us creating a handful of good chances and if we’d had better finishing we’d have got something out of it. Whether it’s Vardy or Daka, we play better when Nacho is in the side.
