Theres nothing to disagree about, the laws not about movement, it’s about whether he is impacting him from being able to attempt play the ball, which he is.

It doesn’t matter if he’s getting to it or not, in law it’s offside if he stops Maignon from being able to play the ball which he has. If officials start accounting for could he see the shot through his own players, speed of ball, players reaction times etc, then it gets messy.

How can any of you argue that decision is wrong, he’s moved towards the ball and can’t dive because of the player who’s stood there. It’s interfering with play, you can’t not chalk a goal off because it’s harsh.

I’d say the only toxicity is coming from some fans who like everyone else on here have very little insight into what is going on but put their opinions across like they are aware of every minor detail. I’m not saying Cooper is going to be a success but I also don’t see anything that points towards him being the end of the world like many others. Just get behind him and the players.

I would be going mad at the bloke who's just decided to take that pot-shot at the other end rather than playing his team mates in. It's such a poor decision and it's led to the build up of the attack that they score from.

UEFA and FIFA both use VAR as wrong/right rather than clear and obvious. They also tend to be far stricter on subjective calls so I imagine that they viewed the handball as an unnatural position, thus making the body bigger. It’s the kind of call you could look at for a while and argue does him tussling with the Slovenian player cause his hand to be up there so not unnatural? But these are the quicker calls fans have called for. As for other peoples comments re. Unkel, you only have to have seen a few matchday threads on here to know that the majority of fans don’t know the laws of the game

Me and my dad got into a bit of a disagreement a few months back when all the financial stuff came out and I made comments around my disgruntlement towards Top, Rudkin and co and how I’d become pretty disillusioned with the club. His point was, since when has it mattered? We used to rock up to games together to support the club without knowing very much of what was going on, just largely who the manager was, and who the players were and that was enough to give the team our full support. He’s seen us win the premier league and an FA cup, two things he was pretty convinced we’d never win. The fact that I started going to games with him in 97/98, we had to sit through some tough times off the pitch and some absolute dross on it, so I can see why his support doesn’t waiver now. The other element is, and I appreciate that people can only share what they hear/get told. I’ve worked for a club based in a small town where information would get passed around by local ITK’s and journalists, and it amazed my just how wide of the mark some of the stuff being shared was. The way the club was run I’d say it was pretty easy for information to get out, so I can only imagine in some Chinese whisper type of way the information would end up distorted. I always try to remember this when I find myself getting wound up by information that’s shared on here.
