Quorn 4 - 1 Boldmere St Mikes Interesting game despite what the scoreline suggests. Quorn in cruise control 2-0 up at HT could and should have been more. Boldmere come out 2nd half and Quorn sloppiness leads to a goal conceded and difficulty in keeping hold of possession and winning 2nd ball. Both sides have a penalty denied Quorn’s was stonewall. Enter Paddy Webb coming back after long term injury, sheer quality kills the game off having a hand in two goals scoring one and an assist. Jordan Gough solid at CB. Cain Noble outstanding in the 10 role. Young RB Burgess deputising hardly put a foot wrong

Quorn 2 - 3 Long Eaton Quorn’s charmed luck finally ran out to worthy winners despite having key players out due to injury & holiday. Quorn’s Midfield too lightweight to cope but Garnett & Loughlan up top for Long Eaton utterly outstanding in movement, open play, attitude & press.

Perfect summary. A game on paper that Anstey should have won but Quorn fronted up massively. Beswick playing CB and not looking out of place summed up Quorn’s guile. A rare start for McKenzie at RWB proved positive as his pace in the press was key. Billy Kee putting a big shift in. Anstey have improved the layout of the facilities no end and it looks great. Banter is banter but the irony of Anstey singing ‘Quorn Scum’ is off the chart.
