  1. If AC Milan come in for him then farewell and good luck and he should definitely keep his agent.
  2. Actual celebrities in a celebrity edition. About time!
  3. This lad has a future. Impressive.
  4. Concentrate on the league
  5. No Fatawu. He's off isn't he?

    Fatawu

I can understand BEK going. There's a release clause in his contract, probably for this exact reason: He signed for a Premier League club with a sizeable risk of relegation and wants to be a top flight player and he wanted a get out of jail free card. I'm pretty sure he'd have stayed if we had remained in the Prem, but we didn't, so I can see him going, unfortunately. I am OK with this to a degree as we have some decent youngsters coming through that can play that position, so all is not lost. Fatawu though - he is special talent. Miles above the standard of this league and could have just about every full back on toast. For me, he is the difference between promotion and staying in the Championship. If we do sell him, this late in the window then that would be one of the most incredible of all the bad decisions made at the club.
  7. I miss the days when fans used to just get behind the team. For me, Cifuentes has been like a breath of fresh air and is going about his business in exactly the right way - concentrating on the football with purpose, clarity and confidence. We've had a torrid time and a lot of the players have been poor, but how much has that been down to the ineptness of the past two managers? Lord knows both managers got absolute pelters most of the season last year. It is time that certain sections of the fanbase took it upon themselves to change their attitude. We're not going to offload half of the squad and put faith in academy graduates. These 'cancerous' players are going to be with us for at least a season or two. I'm confident that Cifuentes will bring them through gradually - it's a long season! Cifuentes has to work with what he's got and his job is made 10 times harder when fans boo substitutes onto the pitch and then boo him when he scores the winning goal. And folk on here think that other teams' fans are weird!
  8. They've had a great start to the league. They should be aiming for promotion so might rest a couple? If we make wholesale changes and they don't, it could be a tricky night. Would love to build some momentum and have a cup run. Hope we win
  9. Ayew immense. Fatuwa looking sharper and looks like he'll have fun this season. Faes and Vesty undroppable.
  10. Faes. Wow. You beauty!
  11. Fatawu is a cheat code at this level.
  12. Brilliant finish.
  13. Is that a tactical substitution? At half time? What's going on?
  14. Exactly this. I suspect their starting 11 will be largely Championship standard so not expecting an easy ride. They certainly lack depth and at full strength would be bottom half Championship. A win should be expected. A convincing win is possible, but nothing is guaranteed. As a side note, given the incoming points deduction, goal difference could be extremely important come the end of the season. Most teams will be licking their lips at the prospect of Sheff Weds at home, especially if they pick up some injuries. I'd hate for us to 'see out' a 2-0 win only to see the likes of Southampton and Ipswich hit them for 6, 7 or 8 later in the season.
  15. Very good ball winner a few years ago but for an elite level midfielder, his passing has always been woeful. Still a little sad to see him go, nothing but love for the guy. I wish him well!
  16. Daka unlucky there, pass from winks hit the toe of the defender, no time to adjust his body.
  17. As back up to Daka and Ayew, I'm not against this.
  18. I think it's pretty standard. They get up, have breakfast together, light training, tactics meeting, get to the ground nice and early etc. Not staying at a hotel might not be the end of the world, but it is a disruption to the preparation and could be a major distraction if there are unexpected delays. I feel for everyone associated with Wednesday right now. It's an utter disgrace.
  19. I'm very excited with the on-the-pitch prospects... Academy graduates, wingers, new manager, should be great to watch going forward. I'm not very excited with the off-the-pitch situation. There are still massive issues that need sorting out.
  20. Previous convictions absolutely can be adduced in evidence as 'bad character'. It's not common by any stretch, but the prosecution can apply to disclose prior convictions if they deem them relevant to the case. A judge has the final say on whether they can be allowed or not.
  21. It's a good question and I don't know the answer. The impression I get though is that it is a very small circle at the top of our club. In all honesty, the guy needs help but I wonder if he might be one of those guys that thinks they can do it all on their own, or perhaps everything he's touched is such a mess, he feels he has to carry the load on his own because as soon as someone competent came in and uncovered the mess, he'd have to go.
  22. Our big earners won't go anywhere because they're on the biggest contract they'll likely get. The most saleable assets are Mads and BEK. The whole world and his dog know we are desperate for cash and there's every chance we'll accept bargain bin prices in the final days of the window. To make good money, we need to sell academy products but the exciting youth coming through haven't really showcased their talents yet, which realistically leaves Casey, Hamza and Luke Thomas. They will be important for us this season and we'd be reluctant to sell. Didn't Sunderland offer £10m for one of them in January and we turned it down? If anyone comes in with £10m for any of those players we surely should sell and probably just bank the money.
  23. Trying to stay calm right now. Feeling so excited waiting for something official from the club
  24. I'm liking Cifuentes so far. Confident, knows what he wants, some clear direction. This is exactly the type of leadership we lacked last season. There's going to be ups and downs, but I have a good feeling about the trajectory.
  25. Why can't we get him as well? Maybe a job share? Rohl could take the away games, Marti can have the home games and they can split the cup games? Sometimes I think I should write to Top and put my name in the hat for any DoF jobs that might come up!
