  1. 1 more appearance and some more money maybe? Very odd
  2. Not really wanting to defend him but I can only assume you don't watch/see him during the game. Goes absolutely mental telling the players to get higher up the pitch, which in itself shows the problem is that he can't influence these players.
  3. That's what I meant with my last sentence (badly articulated). Definitely had a little more about him today.
  4. Terminate the loan either way (if we can). He's barely featured and that's valuable wages that could be spent elsewhere.
  5. Don't think he looked anywhere near it physically earlier in the season but you can see a massive change in just a few months (which is likely to happen at his age). Looked way more up to the pace of the game, stronger and didn't stop pressing when he was on the pitch. Already had high hopes for him but looks like his all-round game has a lot more maturity already
  6. It's more that he's getting in ahead of Monga which is baffling. And then there's an actual striker (albeit looks crap) sat there on the bench. Then of course Evans not getting a look in. It's just odd all round.
  7. Monga being shunted for Silko is shite
  8. He needs to get everything going. Been shocking so far.
  9. I'm his biggest fan but for once, this is not a classic Foxestalk overreaction. Fraction of the player he was pre injuries but still been better than the level we've been at for the past few years. Unfortunately, this season it seems that's it's really caught up to him, at least defensively.
  10. Somebody else claimed he was one of the best manager's in England, so why I should I then be responsible for changing the criteria of that claim to 'head coach'? You did that, not me. Since you want to use the 'head coach' angle, the tools available to a 'head coach' are irrelevant when assessing their performance? Maybe they don't have the best balance but in his time there, he's had access to so many good players in every position (centre forward maybe not up to the level they need but still good enough) it doesn't really wash as an excuse. In laws are all Chelsea fans and they are not thrilled with him. You implied that I was salty because I didn't agree with the original statement, even though I also claimed he was better than what we had since. You also inferred that I didn't understand teams parked the bus against us, when there's nothing to suggest that I had that opinion? Irrelevant anyway, as his job is to win football matches which he did pretty well for us, but also had a long run of relegation form. Overall he was a success here and no doubt we'd have had a better chance of staying up if he stayed but there has been little evidence to suggest he's one of the very best. I just don't rate him as highly as you and some others clearly do. Just because you don't agree with my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm bitter, allowing my emotions to get in the way or I can't grasp basic concepts in football.
  11. There's obviously some signings that aren't his but clearly plenty that are, or at least approved by him. So because they have recruited poorly under his watch, he should be exempt from criticism? Reality is that with the amount of money spent on that squad before and during his time, sitting in 4th is the absolute bare minimum that they should be doing. Crazy to suggest otherwise. I forgot that we're not allowed any nuance, my bad. I should have realised that by saying he's better than any manager we've had since is tantamount to me being 'salty'. Complete supposition on your part and not sure how you came to that conclusion based on what I said. If he was such an 'excellent' coach how is it that his Leicester team got worse with time, and arguably the same is happening at Chelsea, or at least they're certainly not any better than they were? Yes, he's a good manager but how anyone can say he's one of the best in English football is silly. He's had 2 jobs where his resources have dwarfed other teams so hardly a great metric to be measuring him against other managers. If he is willing to learn from his mistakes, then I've got no doubt he's got the potential to more than earn that title, but until then, he hasn't.
  12. Slow?!
  13. No there isn't. This is such a myth. I said this in the match thread but if you actually look at Vestergaard's thread, there's been multiple games where he dropped clangers and nothing has been said in there. Even that first goal is more his fault that Nelson's (still should have done better) as he actually stepped away from the ball, though should have been stopped at source. He gets a free pass from a massive amount of people on here. He's been absolutely crap on the whole this year (a few goals and good performances don't detract from that) and unlike Faes, he's actually capable of better. End of the day, he's been the ever present in our poor defence so he should be dropped. Nelson coming in has certainly helped him. For what it's worth, even as a massive Nelson fan, I think people have been overboard about some of his performances. Though the reality is he's still been a massive upgrade on all the others in his position. He shouldn't be immune to criticism but he should absolutely get more leeway than the older players. Got lots of potential, will make mistakes at his age and grow from them and he's not on a massive wedge. It's not about double standards, it's just about applying a bit of context.
  14. Don't think it was anywhere near as bad as that. Could and should have done better with the first 2 goals, especially the first bit second half he was good. Actually watched the first goal back and Vestergaard moves away from the ball as it comes in, so he's far more culpable. Should have been stopped at source anyway.
  15. What an odd reply. I've given you my view on view you said, that's my point? You were allowed to ignore it you know.
  16. Bookended by a couple of classics. The decision making at this club is worse than a large chunk of the fanbase make out (this forum excluded). Maresca has won a couple of tinpot tournament that very few care about but what else has he done? His team has spent crazy amounts of money, working with an already massively expensive squad yet his team are 10 points off the pace and it's not even the halfway stage. He's yet again throwing his toys out of the pram about his squad/backing from the owners too. Obviously he's a better manager than what we've had since and did what he needed to do here but he's had 2 incredibly easy jobs in his English career and had hardly smashed it.
  17. At least his spark looks back
  18. Even though nothing like the player pre-injury he was still too good for us but this year, he's absolutely gone. Very sad to see
  19. Not even particularly in the out camp but he's got to go after this. Yet another drubbing in a half of football. Definitely on the players but you can't allow that kind of thing
  20. You're more in denial than I am. Go and look at his thread and see the lack of activity when he dropped repeated clangers, then come back and say that with a straight face. I'd agree that people have gone overboard about Nelson's performances as he's been good but nothing more than that. However, some people just seem to thrive on academy players failing (seems like you're one of them). Surely it's better to give a bit of extra leeway to young players making their way then experienced players bleeding the club dry?
  21. And then people want to crucify young players any chance. Not saying he should be immune to criticism but if you take the second goal, Vestergaard makes at least one mistake like that a game (many unpunished) yet half on here treat him like a god at this level when the reality is he's been the mainstay in our pathetic defence.
  22. If Vestergaard did that half of the people on here would be saying how great he did to get a touch on it
  23. Well that's a pretty unusual payday set up anyway, let alone at Christmas when you tend to bring things forward.
  24. I don't get it? This is the Wout Faes thread? Would have made sense if you said they're desperate for a clown...
  25. Gets you to a 5 so not too bad
