  1. Even just for a straight £10m we could get far better players, let alone when you look at it with the PSR angle. There is 0 sense in turning it down. Utter madness.
  2. . Never seen a player look so out of his depth at PL level and we turn it down
  3. Almost 3pm and we've only been linked with 2 players. Not even bothering to put out fake news about all the approaches we've made
  4. We'd need all 3 to make a difference in that area of the pitch. The only chance we have of staying up is getting some pace out wide/up top and actually scoring some goals
  5. Any wide player with a bit of pace is an improvement on what we have.
  6. But how is is style actually similar? The only think that he can do similarly to Soyuncu is his long range passing. He doesn't have the pace of Soyuncu which allowed him to take risks in terms of positioning and going into challenges. I have never seen Faes totally dominant an opposing attacker in the way that Soyuncu did. He doesn't have the same physicality. Whilst decent at bringing the ball out, he can't do it in the way Soyuncu did. I understand why you're trying to make that comparison, but they are not actually similar in style. If you can't do the same things as another player in your role can (let alone do as well) then you're not a similar style of defender. Even JV was at his best in terms of front foot defending last year but you wouldn't describe him as similar to Soyuncu. I think that's part of Faes problem in that he doesn't have a single role in defence that he can do well. Can't be the front foot defender ala Soyuncu/Fofana, hasn't got the concentration to be a proper backs to the wall defender (though that is his best role), doesn't have the composure/decision making to play as the quarterback and doesn't have the positional awareness/pace to play as wide centre back. He's just not very good at anything and on top of that, has as shocking attitude. Telling that so many people would put JV ahead of him who is also not up to it at this level.
  7. Wish people would stop comparing him to Soyuncu. Soyuncu (in his peak) wasn't that rash because he actually made good decisions. Of course his style of play meant that he would occasionally get caught out but he has the pace and physicality to get back, or as you say, Evans to then bail him out. Faes is absolutely crap and no player could compliment him. Doesn't do anything remotely close to what Soyuncu did.
  8. Been a poor signing but not even close. Look at the absolute chumps playing behind him!
  9. Amartey was pretty pants but he did an ok job in plenty of positions for several years. Absolutely lightyears ahead of Vestergaard (who I would say is so much better than when we were last in the prem, where I would have had him as just about the worst player I've seen for us)
  10. Shouldn't laugh because i actually feel sorry for Wolves given they've tried. But looking at the fact that they could have got Danso and Saints getting Sylla, it completely undermines the myth that we can't attract players of decent quality on loan or on the cheap.
  11. Not even close. Been plenty worse in the last 2-3 years which says it all (considering today was dreadful)
  12. I don't care what the stats say either, I'd go off what we've seen and Facundo and Stephy's performances under RVN have been absolutely pitiful. Ayew is utter cack yet his performances have still been better than those 2 which says it all. With you on Okoli and Daka. The problem is that RVN has made plenty of mistakes but when people whinge about the lineup, it feels pointless. The alternatives he has in most positions are pathetic and when they've had a chance, they've been exactly that. Complete apathetic to him staying or going but it really feels like the only chance we have, would be to actually back in terms of letting him bring in a few players he wants to work with. A radical idea I know...
  13. The time for questions from the owner to the DOF should have been after the Adrien Silva debacle. We are way past that stage. Said it in the Rudkin thread, but it's not about him anyone. All logic dictates that Rudkin is useless at his job but that's still supposition. What isn't guesswork is that Top has absolutely run this club into the ground and he has to take ultimate accountability. If Rudkin is responsible for most things, then why hasn't Top replaced him yet? Removing Rudkin is just the taking the top off the weed when we need to get into the roots and pull it (Top/KP) out.
  14. He's almost certainly rubbish but at this stage, people should be directing their ire towards Top. We do know for a fact that he is ultimately responsible and utterly useless
  15. Oh yeah, we needed somebody else (as we did in many positions). I do think that wide players are the easiest to take a gamble on, as the majority are pretty inconsistent anyway so you might just find a Mahrez or even Fatawu (who wasn't massive money really). Even if they're a bit headless, they will general have the capability to change the game if they've got some pace/trickery. Unfortunately we picked 2 that absolutely do not have that!
  16. Exactly. He's making mistakes yes but he took over an absolute basket case, and sacking him will achieve nothing without sweeping changes above him
  17. Yep. Watch his interview after the Fulham game (I think) and he generally looks so gutted/pissed off. Hardly any of the others ever look like they give a crap
  18. We absolutely could have spent money on priority positions rather than pissing money on the likes of Skipp. BDR has generally looked awful but on a free transfer, there was more logic to bringing him in rather than spending money on Ayew.
  19. Haven't even tried to score either
  20. He is but he's still better than Mavididi and light years ahead of McAteer. Let that sink in
  21. We can't play straightforward systems so no way these clowns could handle a 5 at the back. And since we give up goals and can't do the basics, there's no way we'd keep a clean sheet and certainly wouldn't score.
  22. Absolutely not. JV is awful at this level but Faes is an embarrassment. Absolutely calamitous at the best of times. When people compare he to how Soyuncu was, that's the clearest sign that their opinion of football players is utterly irrelevant
  23. Hahahahaha. How can you be done by that pass
  24. He's made some mistakes but far fewer than Cooper did. The big difference is that the players bailed Cooper out, and they're the ones causing most of the issues now.
  25. They look crap, yet your point is still true relatively speaking. Little bit of quality and you'd be miles ahead of teams like Everton. Shame we don't have any not does it look like we'll bring any in
