Ben Nelson - loan to Oxford United - Official

Bollocks. Yet another one who's going to be held back -
Hasn't played much this year but I watched a lot of him last year and he was fantastic every time I saw him, and I mean that in terms of all round game. Looked at his stats and he was averaging a G/A every 88 mins. I know it's Bayern but that's hardly what I'd describe as 'ok' for a guy who was 18 for the majority of that season.

. Can't see a full article linked. As a loan, maybe but on a permanent?! Kid is class

She is an absolutely atrocious presenter. She is absolutely a diversity hire and I think plenty of people cut her slack because of her looks. She started out as a reasonable pundit but then she starting offering nothing insightful compared to others (which is quite an achievement given how low the bar is). I remember watching her and Claire Balding present the Olympics highlights and the difference in their competency as broadcasters was absolutely staggering (and I don't particularly like Claire Balding). It's one thing for her to be a pundit, but presenting is a completely different game.

Succinct and perfectly accurate. It's both a societal (footballing wise) issue with VAR, FFP/PSR etc. and the spectacular capitulation we have witnessed. I think we'd all have been ok if there had been a gradual decline towards our historical position and this was happening in 10 years time (still would be happy with things but would certainly be more palatable), but the way that the owners and Brenda (because he does deserve some credit in our demise), but the way we have squandered such gifts and chances to build something is beyond galling.

The manager absolutely waxed lyrical about him at the start of the spell. Probably too frightened to put him in because of his size
-
Eduardo has been retired for ages so no idea why you mentioned him. Especially when the table is for Edouard as well...

What an earth are you on about? I simply gave an example of the two most famous players in world football over the past 20 years and one of them happened to be more selfish than Kane. I wasn't going to sit there and list every player I've ever seen was I . Again, no idea what point you're trying to make on pens. He's the best pen taking at his club, should he have given them up so Hugo Lloris could have taken them? Might be worth asking Vards to stop taking them too in case somebody else wants them. I was talking about being on to a losing battle if you think most people are going to rank Kane above Vardy in the all time greats list. I wasn't completely explicit about that so my bad. So you've basically admitted that you really don't like him which is clearly informing you opinion. Everything that you're saying makes him selfish is the same thing ever single professional footballer would do but the one bit of evidence (chances created for other players) that has been brought up, is apparently reason to be ignored. Cool.
-
The most selfish player you've seen. Guess you haven't watched much football then. We're just coming off the back of the great Messi/Ronaldo era the latter being a guy who is furious if he doesn't score and shoots from everywhere. How can you claim Kane is most selfish player when you will surely have seen Ronaldo play? Hyperbole in the extreme. Same amount of games in the PL as Vardy, 20 more big chances created, so how does that make him selfish? Yeah, he definitely didn't look right and I'd have loved to have seen Watkins play more, just as I would with Gordon and Palmer. What's your point? Pretty much every player in the world will do whatever they can to play in a world cup so don't see how that makes him selfish either? I've heard Gary Neville say that the instruction was for him to take corners. And surely the more selfish play would be not to take them so he has a chance of scoring? Look at the following tournament (realise I said 2016 world cup when I meant euros), when he didn't take them and scored from being on the end of set pieces. Why would any striker prefer to take a corner than have a chance of scoring? Probably because it's the complete opposite of being selfish. It was a stupid instruction but that's what it was. Yes, football is about winning trophies. Who said it isn't? Pretty sure I said he would swap his goals for Vardy's trophies, so absolutely no idea why you've just repeated that. It's not like I even love Harry Kane FFS. It just seems that we have a weird fanbase that slag off ex-players (and whilst they're current players) and then cry when they celebrate against us. Don't give it if you can't take it, especially whilst we're celebrating having the greatest wind up merchant of all time on our books. Vardy is viewed as iconic by other fans but not as one of the greatest in PL history as he should be. And when people trot out the narrative of Kane not being good, selfish etc, it completely undermines the chances of people taking that viewpoint on Vardy seriously.
-
I laughed once at somebody telling me to support Spurs, but this is the straw that broke the camels back. Where did I say that Vardy wasn't a team player? I was responding to a comment that suggesting Kane was selfish (which is nonsense) and that Vardy is a better all-round footballer (also nonsense). I love Vardy; you'd have to be an odd fan not to. And I also think he was genuinely world class at his peak. He's without doubt one of the greatest strikers to play in the PL and it's a crime that he's only got 25ish England caps. But the idea that because Vardy is great, Kane cannot be is so stupid.

I said big club
-
. Was going to say that I can't argue with that but then I realised you told me to go an support Spurs. Pretty sure you can get locked up for hate crimes like that
-
Did you just not have any interaction with the outside world during the summer? All the talk was about how he was too deep and needed to be more selfish and stay up top. Assume the first point is about him taking corners in the 2016 world cup? Something that was an instruction from the manager? Obviously Kane would swap his goals for Vardy's trophies but I think you're losing that battle. I personally would put them both in the top 10 all time but Kane is probably going to get in most people's top 3.

Every single player in professional football commits a foul throw. Yet another stupid thing that gets overlooked. -
. Harry Kane, who's is slagged off for not being selfish enough? The guys got 5 assists in 9 matches. The lengths people go to slag him off is so weird. He's clearly a better all-round football than Vards. That's one of the reasons Vardy has never been snapped up by a big club, though no doubt he'd have scored buckets for anyone
-
If he'd tried to shoot in that situation, everyone would have lost their minds. It wasn't unselfish, it was just a good decision; which is what the best do.
-
It's not even application or concentration, it's about his tactical awareness. People saying he had a good game on Weds but look at how open the midfield was. Skipp wasn't great but at least he tried to offer some discipline, Soumare was absolutely nowhere most of the time. He just doesn't know where he should be. Then couple the above with not knowing what role he actually suits. We can sit here and reel off all the different roles in DM, CM and AM and he doesn't work well in any of them. Great contribution today (though lucky for him Ayew's touch was brilliant because it wasn't a good pass but forgiven after that effort), but I just don't see how he ever unlocks it consistently.

The inability to add the correct time genuinely had me thinking about whether I'll bother watching football anymore. I reckon the ball was in play 15-20 mins absolutely tops. Was 8 mins just from their goal, the 2 free kicks and their players being down for treatment. Not saying we need to add every second back on but after the ball being out of play for 10 seconds, the clock should stop. Even in stoppage time the ball probably wasn't in play for 5 mins of the 10 played. Used to hate the idea of stopping the clock like Rugby and playing 60 mins but it would be so much better on days like today. -
He really wasn't. Don't think he's been great this season but he kept Hutchinson really quiet today
-
Not really. I could definitely see him
