  1. I thought his post match comments were accurate to be honest. He did say SM said before the game he had felt ill, but still felt he was ok to play / GR said it was a mistake to let him play - one those occasions where the manager should have gone with his brain not heart. I’ve been giving him the benefit of doubt up to now, but he can’t save us, can’t inspire the players enough every game and should go. That 2nd half today was sickening.
  2. I’ve just put myself through the agony of watching their goal again. So he certainly didn’t sprint back. Winks was initially slow in his “recovery. run “ but did at least get back only to not anticipate the guy might pass so Winks wasn’t doing anything when the pass was made! Ricardo was at fault for not getting a challenge in at all. Thomas to a lesser extent but did get close enough to “have a nibble”, but as usual it was a feeble attempt! Bloody useless!
  3. Yup, you’re right that our defending has been very poor and is a big part of why we’re going down. I can’t figure out why somebody didn’t try a slide tackle on him- I guess each of them passed the responsibility to some one else ( again, like most games this season). So depressing and frustrating
  4. He didn’t “lose it” as in by a bit of bad luck or a great defending challenge , he under hit a simple pass from a set piece ( which might have been a trading ground routine)! I can’t remember if he tried to burst a lung trying to run back to correct hud mistake ( he is 18 and a pro so should have the stamina). Give the Swansea lad some credit- it was a skilful run. Yes, pathetic defending by all of our players involved who might have stopped him- and who was marking their scorer?
  5. Very disappointing today and recent games. Lovely control and flashes of skill but not involved enough for me . I was hoping GR would bring him off earlier than he did ( and that Abdul would be subbed too)- just get players on who’ll make a simple pass, move into space and run hard .
  6. Nah- most of it on Mukasa. Be honest, none of us expected their player to go on such a brilliant run ( at one point I thought he’d keep the ball and score goal of the season) , but LT had a chance to stop him as well, and other players too.
  7. Oh, I can’t see the point in arguing about him being “terrible “ or not, as you’re not going to modify your view. I’ll just leave it that he’s managed to fool many people in the pro game if you’re right. Credit to you for calling out his signing at the time. I hadn’t heard of him tbh. It seems he was good for Norwich. At the moment I wish we had a squad of players who puts in as much as effort as he does.
  8. He’s not terrible, don’t be silly. I , like many others, were pleased when he started to show improved form, but no one said he was brilliant or our saviour. He tries his best, unlike most of our squad. Perhaps some on here are right in that he doesn’t play well with Winks? Yes, we did overpay and overall he has been disappointing for the fee and his wages. Did you post on here he was a bad signing at the time we signed him, as you expected?
  9. My original post was in response to a question of what use he is to us. So not having watched the game live and only seeing the highlights with 2 repeats of their goal (which was pathetic by all our players near by) , I’m not going through the agony of scrutinising what JM did or didn’t do. I thought you were having a dig and making a point that JM is crap, or can’t be bothered, but can see the nuance of what you’re saying between can and will ( but I don’t accept he purposely avoided trying to stop their goal). Hence my narky response- it came on top of my disbelief and frustration that we’ve failed to beat SW.
  10. You’ve really got it on for poor Olly haven’t you! 😀 He doesn’t hide. If he did then he wouldn’t have been running through to support Daka against Preston to be in a position to have that chance . He wouldn’t have been in the box today 1st half, had a lovely first touch to take the ball inside the defender ( but I guess you’ll say that was a fluke mis control) , hit a strong shot which commentators said brought a good save from their motm goalkeeper, and wouldn’t have tried and scored that overhead kick a while back. Both Winks and Skipp have failed to deliver consistently over the whole season. A weak midfield , crap defence , and our style of play, has caused our downfall.
  11. I wasn’t able to see the game until the last 20 minutes, and have just seen the 2 minutes highlights. I’m not sure why you’ve picked on my post. So he was entirely to blame for their goal then was he? Yeah right. I stand by what I said in my post you’ve quoted. If you are doubting that he is not a good footballer, and too good for us, then you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. Ok, if he switched off for their goal today ( 2 minutes into a game) and none of the others around were also culpable, then he was at fault. All players make mistakes.
  12. Yes, Patson motm- did we ever think we’d say that! Ran his socks off, had that sweet left foot shot first half and shame he was fouled for his clear run at goal in the second. I’m frustrated at Divine- such a skilful player and played well but if he could just do a bit more, he could be the difference to get us some wins. Why is Winks so poor at shooting ( apart from a goal every few months) ? For such a skilful player he is ability to get a shot on target is awful. More time alone practicing needed I reckon. For an intelligent football brain he should be able to decide if the shot is on- if he is not set right, or confident enough then just control the ball and pass/ build the attack.
  13. Because he can give us 60 minutes of quality, calmness, strength and confidence- all essential in our current mess. In some games he just looks commanding and a higher level, even without doing much. Anyone who has played the game at any level will understand the effect that has on team mates and the opposition. I agree with the poster that he has helped Okoli.
  14. I dunno. The performances have improved, but it’s a “results business “ and on that he’s failed. Just seen Davie Gs post on Crazy Stat time- Friday was the most shots on goal in a league game since we beat Everton in that magical season- so that has to give us a bit of hope?
  15. As were their 2 goals- first we gave the ball away in our half needlessly ( was it Ricardo?) and 2nd keystone cops marking , Ricardo left his post, their player probably intended to just head it back into a danger area without meaning to precisely place it in the only spot where a keeper couldn’t get it- fluke. The stats show which team had more attacks and better chances, so yes we should have won- same as the Watford game.
  16. They weren’t pretty woeful though- they went into our game off the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Wrexham and saw us as another 3 points to be in the play off mix ( they still have an outside chance of that). Give GR and the team some credit- we out fought them, and had more goal threat ( wasn’t our xG 2?). So better finishing and confidence we’d have deservedly won. As a team that performance should have given us confidence.
  17. I think we’ve had more “almost moments” under GR. For example Dakas header second half against Boro, LTs header at the end of Ipswich, Dakas header on Saturday and Ben’s scorpion on Saturday ( which I think would have fallen to DM for a tap in?). I can’t remember us having such great chances to win games during Marti’s last games.
  18. It was good wasn’t it! It felt calming to see him during the game- his passing was effortless and body shape receiving the ball spot on
  19. Oh, I didn’t know the header was offside?
  20. I don’t understand why some people think it wasn’t a good team performance. They were coming in off what sounds like an impressive win against Wrexham , and listening to their comms on the stream they were surprised that they couldn’t get any flow going- that was because we played well, stopped them, and looked the better team throughout the game despite our fragility. That was a game we truly “deserved “ to win.
  21. Why didn’t Mendy get a second yellow?
  22. Arghh - just so dreadful.
  23. Some good comments. Going further back, I remember “”Bloomfield out” chants and fans’ anger at that time. I don’t like the c word chant either and believe it damages the image of the protest.
