  1. That is a very perceptive take. I too have seen a far better press and midfield effort since Andy King took over. In both second halves where we had 10 men the press and the midfield effort continued. The first half against Southampton was also good in that respect. The second half: the ethos was not there. Maybe a fragile mentality, or not fit enough. Our defence overall this season has been woeful . I am happy with Andy King for the interim future, yes he is sometimes inexperienced but from what the I have seen things are moving in the right direction.
  2. I think the club had no ambition to go up this year as they realised it was almost impossible with points deduction, spending curtailed and a few highly paid players leaving at the end of this season. It all pointed to the next big push being next season. unfortunately the apathy from the management has seeped into the players and the fanbase.
  3. Winks is a good player who seems to be at bottom half premiership player who can only function in a system that suits him ! His attitude though is the problem. Immature, extremely disrespectful to the club, his fellow team mates and a disgusting role model for younger players. So an all round toxic personality who needs to be moved out as soon as possible.
  4. mmm... ironic comment coming from you with your tagline: Mumpsimuses - those who insist they are right and apportion blame to others without looking at themselves. I Like Hamza..; yes he has made some errors of judgement... who has not. I have a feeling he will play a lot this season maybe even as right back as he has the energy, determination and enough skill to carry out the demands of that position in what seems to be the managers preferred system.
  5. I think we will be around the top six... but more importantly I think we need to revamp recruitment and encourage younger players into the first team...after all Seagrave has been a very expensive investment but has not particularly paid any dividends yet because we have kept and bought too many older players for "experience" . Yet still ended up in the championship.
  6. Having met M. Rashford and his personal entourage last June. Even the in the unlikely scenario that it was possible to loan him, I would not consider this. The man acts like a morose 17 year old, can not have a meaningful conversation and hides behind his personal crew. He needs to change some of his personal advisors before his attitude will improve.
  7. well our luck ran out tonight...in every match this season where we have managed to pick up points we have been very lucky indeed! I think Cooper gets out thought by opposing managers too many times.
  8. Yes I thought Enzo did what was asked. It now seems the accepted way to play football is the possession game if you wish to be successful. Most teams in the PL now play for possession even if they end up in the bottom three, as Burnley did. I think now that is the fashionable way and most successful teams are doing it, the difference between teams, apart from the quality of players, comes down to energy and the dynamics of the speed of play. My only criticism of Enzo was not the style but that there was rarely a change of pace. When we played Chelsea in the cup the difference in the way they changed the speed of play throughout the match and we were always one paced was why they won the match.
  9. That is a very impassioned defence of Enzo. A few things I would disagree with; he was backed as far as we signed, Fatawu and Mavadidi both of whom have performed well this season and have potential to perhaps push on in the premier league. I would argue that Winks, in his position, is as good as Maddison was in his. Coady, although he has not played a lot, is a fantastic back up for a strong backline. One of the best young goalkeepers in Europe. A squad that even without Maddison and Barnes that would be expected to be in at least the top 6 of the championship. To his credit Enzo was very good at the beginning of the season at reuniting the squad and getting his ideas over in a very short space of time to make an exceptional start to the season. So considering all the financial turmoil at the club he has been backed very well. If Enzo gets us promoted he will have achieved something that Pearson has achieved and then if he keeps us in the premier league next year he will come close to Pearsons status, in my opinion.
  10. Yes it was a spirited performance today, but I did not think we comfortably competed with them, they were always quicker in transition, speed of thought and execution.
  11. I do hope you are right. I have watched every game he has played in this season. I think he is a threat in the box because of his height and when he has space runs well to progress up the field. On the other hand I think he is very slow, does not work hard enough in midfield and on too many occasions looks lost and not sure as to which position he should be in. At the moment he seems to me at the same level a Soumare but no where near the level of Praet overall.
  12. Really agree with your post in terms of being famous, but his race has nothing to do with this situation... no black person ever got a job because he was famous?
  13. Yes its been a below average service. I have missed 2 games due to technical issues and the last 3 games have had the audio visual mismatch. Have written 3 emails now and just got an automated email response. What is amazing is that for the last 3 games we have had the audio visual mismatch and nobody, out side the fans who have paid for this, has even damn well noticed that this is going on!
