...I think this is what we hope Will Alves will look like when he is back!!! Love the fact that he links up well and is prepared to give the ball to his teammates. Nwaneri has skills but has that selfish me-only streak in his game. He looks better when playing others in, looks so much better when he does that.

...a bit slow in doing the deed, we have lost quite a few days to recruit a new manager!!! I hope there is someone in the pipeline as the international break gives us all the chance to make a change and give the new manager a chance to meet and familiarise himself with the new environment. This is an opportunity to prove that the board has learned from the Rodgers debacle, as I am not sure they understood what they did wrong before.

...I would say Winks has to be the more influential of the two!!! We can still play this way without Hermansen, look at Leitzig for the ladies team. You can encourage your keeper to come out and cause the overload whilst playing out at the back, but the intelligence when to hold it, see the picture and know your options are what Winks will bring, very much instincts laced with experience. I am happy we have such a good foundation to build on, we just need Akgun to drop into one of the 8's positions to have creativity all the way up the spine.

...he looks really good, great to have someone who understands deadball situations!!! Playing in Serie B with his talents, would like to see if he could step up as now would be the time to take the risk. Having just signed a contract to 2026 not sure if he would be amenable to come here. Does Maresca need any reminders about Parma right now?
-
...it was posted here some time ago in another thread!!! The way he was spinning it was, that he had the full trust of Khun Top and there would have been no need for formal conversations.
-
...time for another raid on ST. Truiden!!! I am not sure of who is or may be available, but the Manager (St. Truiden) plays a great style of football, like LCFC and hopefully if well-funded he can take us forward.
-
...well here we go!!!
-
...rumoured that he (Marc Brys) has gone today!!! It couldn't last. After a short recovery, OH Leuven ended up in relegation concerns again after a zero out of six against Standard and Cercle Brugge. The OHL board now intervenes and dismisses coach Marc Brys. He had been working in Leuven for three and a half years, making him by far the longest-serving coach in the Jupiler Pro League.

...my penny worth!!! Best New Signing Winks Favourite Game Norwich (a) Most improved player Ndidi Most disappointing player Casadei Player you want in Jan Oscar Bobb Weakest position LCB Predicted finish Promotion (top 2) King Power gripe Not learning from the past season, no vision.

...from the internet!!! OH Leuven supporter clubs have released a statement that claims they will boycott the fan day on the 26th of December unless Marc Brys is relieved of his duties. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, the supporters have stated ‘As long as Brys is not fired, we will maintain our boycott. If the English members of the OHL board do not respond to our demand, we expect to hear this directly from them. If the OHL board does not comply with our demand, other actions will follow’. Well, that is certainly a way to make yourselves be heard, Foxes Trust, take note.

...he (Rodgers) went to the board to discuss leaving!!! This is the reason why his severance was less than it should have been, he had to accept less as he would have had "Relegation " as part of his cv. Normally such poor stewardship would have prompted the club hierarchy to dispense with a managers services, Rudkin, by himself, couldn't keep him (Rodgers) in a job, only Khun Top could fire him and the severance was vast, the only way to reduce it was for Rodgers to be so desperate to get out that he asked for less.
-
...anyone would accept those situations, it is when things start to go wrong when you know how effective the support around you is!!! We watched them tolerate for years, a situation that a fair amount of the supporters were crying out be be addressed. This board has struck lucky at this moment, but we know as soon as there are fundamental problems to be addressed, they will kick it down the road, they always do.
-
...there is surely a caveat to this lack of confidence emanating from the board not giving Rodgers funds, it was clear that Soyuncu would have made a big difference had he been used!!! This is about a manager who destroyed a club from within and sought to be paid handsomely for his actions. The situation with the board are the smokescreen that he was using to deflect from his stewardship. He fostered a set of players who were coming out to publicly support him, out of all these, the only player who I would want to come back is Barnes, you can certainly keep the rest.
-
...I do not see it that way!!! In the end he (Rodgers) had to come to the table and ask to be released and significantly, negotiate his settlement. Rodgers had the club over a barrell regarding his payout (severance),and we were not willing to pay the amount. Very much bluff and counter bluff in this instance. Prior to Rodgers leaving, he did an interview where he said he had not spoken with Khun Top for a year, that does not sound like an amicable working relationship. Relegation became more and more likely the negativity around the club and no doubt within the squad, forced Rodgers to act. From what we are seeing, nothing has changed behind the scenes and we have the same people with the same ideas running the club. Offering a new lucrative long-term contract to another manager, shouldn't come as a surprise, it depends on the integrity of the manager to see if it is worthwhile.

Who do you want for next season in the PL
sacreblueits442 replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
...he was valued at 130 million Euros back in 2020, it wouldn't be a surprise if United (paid 85m euros) were not shelling out that amount of money!!! -
.. his work rate would be the problem, he doesn't tend to work back!!!
-
...I have thought the same thing, regarding Barnes!!! I feel he will not settle and would be looking to get back to the Midlands.
-
...Flint was inconsistent, she was either ready to compete or spent the game adjusting her bun as it kept on coming undone!!! At times she appeared to be the only player on the team who appeared to know what the game was about and looked far, far above the team in ideas and using the ball. She lacked real pace and did not use her size to help the team, it should have been much harder to get her off the ball, than what I was witnessing. If she could have come Central and 20 yards ahead of the midfield with her hold-up play, and with other players going ahead of her, it would have suited her abilities. She offered nothing the way she was played, so it was no surprise that we let her go. The fact that Liverpool has her on their books is a surprise, I thought she would end up dropping a division. Her lack of mobility was a big factor.
-
...Goodwin upfront, would suit her better!!!
-
...expect a phone call from his agent to Rudkin, it wouldn't surprise me!!! Failing that, a trip up north to be coddled by Rodgers, who totally overindulged him, I felt a new club would not tolerate his many shortcomings. I always believed he would stay as no one else would want him, it was clear to see how limited he was, Villa's scouting system dropped the ball this time.

Who do you want for next season in the PL
sacreblueits442 replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
...he will keep going until he is 40, he knows his body and what he is capable of, we have him for a little time more!!! If we have to get in a CM then Oscar Bobb would have to be the first name on the list. Rak-Sakyi should have been getting a season on loan with us learning how to play this season but instead warming the bench at Palace -
...let's hope we play like the first game and not the majority of the last game!!! In the last quarter of the last game, something just switched, we became positive and looked to go forward with more purpose and our passing became 50% better. One moment of absolute quality gained us the points, but it depends on which Leicester City turns up on the day. Petermann gives us the composure we have lacked upfront, Rantala is also composed in midfield and Sophie Howard is solid as always. Leitzig is the catalyst for last season's survival although she appears to be a little hesitant and slightly unsure this season. Her biggest asset was her great goal-stopping, but the fact that she was so decisive, made the other defenders around her lives easier as there was always panic when we came under pressure in our box.
-
...I think Maresca came in via the grapevine, not something that had been planned!!! I feel the feel good factor has clouded and plastered over our previous mishandling of the club. Whilst we are successful on the pitch no one cares about what is happening in the background. Nothing has changed, no real vision is available or likely to be forthcoming. Maresca will be the one they are going to pin their hopes on to drive this club forward. It is a sad indictment that after all this time, we are unable to expand on Khun Vichai's vision, no long-term plans or coherent ideas.
