  1. Any recommendations for Chester? There next weekend with the missus (she's five months pregnant so doesn't need to be anywhere with a decent gin selection too).
  2. Hit the Lemsip and see you on the other side, brother.
  3. Being ill and missing the game today. Oh, and autocorrect changing "ill" to "I'll" every time I type it.
  4. The Pakistan v Holland highlights recorded for me? Afghanistan v Bangladesh is on Sky Sports Mix now for anyone wanting some free cricket.
  5. Be more of a restaurant offering then, I'd have thought.
  6. Big-headed but we are genuinely a big day out for a lot this year. Think quite a few pubs from the Preston area put buses on, saw one of them rock up at Loughborough Wetherspoons in the afternoon.
  7. Walked past The Salmon yesterday. Bit fearful for it after seeing the bar appears to have been moved to the wall on the right, as you walk in, unless it's just temporarily there while the work's going on. Had my PNE-supporting father-in-law with me so took him round town and he loved The Cherry Tree, which is his kind of pub. There was a bloke in there doing scarily good impressions of various old celebrities including Terry Wogan and Frank Spencer, which then moved seamlessly into a flawless impersonation of Louis Theroux's interview with Savile (him doing both parts). Would be such a good matchday boozer if it was the other side of the city centre.
  8. Crowd noise sounds very fake to me. Disappointing.
  9. Lost the toss and batting. No Stokes.
  10. If you want simpler songs then you're going to end up with more Euro-style ones. Those type of chants almost always originate from abroad and lend themselves to the kind of bouncing and scarf twirling you're not keen on. If you want more English-style chants then the burden's on people to actually make the effort to learn the words. If anyone's truly arsed about adding to the atmosphere then that's what they'll do - same as we all have done for generations. If all they do is moan on the internet about how they don't know the words, or a song's too complicated for them personally, then they're not actually as bothered as they say they are.
  11. Not sure where the Northants link came from. He's a Blackpool lad and was their club pro/captain there before heading south. His record suggests he'd do a job in all formats (if fit) but I guess a T20-only gig would still be a decent signing if he doesn't want to be tied down. Just speculating there, but I'm sure there'll be room for an ex-England international in some parts of the never-ending global T20/T10 Circus.
  12. Wouldn't mind Richard Gleeson if he could stay fit. Assume he'll be grabbing whatever T20 gigs he can round the world mixed with club pro-ing in Lancashire now they've let him go though.
  13. Here's my one. Her ex-husband was from Leicester, hence why her family follow us.
  14. The ones for players who've left need removing but pretty much all the others are either sung regularly or occasionally in SK1.
  15. http://www.unionfs.co.uk/songbook.html
  16. Absolutely crazy. Said it before and I'll say it again, but we know who to blame if kids in Leicestershire are running around in Man United and Liverpool tops in a few years.
  17. No. Pound for pound, the Man United away end the day before we sealed it was the worst end I've ever been in. Arsenal likewise was dreadful for such an important game. It did become the golden era of the Ticket Office Backhander the closer we got to actually winning the thing though.
  18. Never a reliable judge but the volume on TV sounded excellent for a Sunday morning.
  19. Usually avoid owt called a Milkshake IPA, but I'm a sucker for Tiny Rebel cask stuff so just had one of theirs. Fvcking delicious.
  20. Absolute farce again. In other news, Chris Wright's Sussex move is off... https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/23820191.sussexs-paul-farbrace-reveals-chris-wright-move-off/ Obviously saw what a bunch of bad blokes they are the other week and thought better of it! Hope that means he's staying...
  21. Looks like the ground staff completely fluffed their lines though. Loads of surface water before they even got the covers on.
  22. Hard to see when he gets a keeping gig for us in any format, unless Handscomb agrees he's not going to if Cox is injured. Hope they can work something out.
  23. Rae claiming on commentary that Swindells has turned down a contract offer. Wonder who else is in for him then...
  24. Just take the plunge and jump straight to Classic. They play film and TV theme tunes and everything.
