  1. First of all I wouldn’t say Corberan failed, this year the championship was one of the hardest it’s been in a long time and he got WBA into the play offs with literally no money to spend. but I was comparing the two from a tactical set up perspective.
  2. For me it wasn’t about getting someone playing the exact same style of Maresca but at the same time it was more about sticking to an attack minded possession based philosophy, who accommodates the playing squad we already have. That’s why I wanted Corberan badly, as I truly believed he ticked all the boxes. Don’t get me wrong, there’s an article stating Cooper has hired someone to analyse his own management, we may very well see a completely different style of play now he’s had some time out of the game to reflect. But based off current evidence I don’t think Cooper’s style or formation suits our current playing squad. But I would state, it’s nothing personal to Cooper as a manager or his ability as a manager. I love the fact he approached us regarding the job and showed he wanted to be here and I hope to be proven wrong, and will be the first to admit I was wrong and that I didn’t think it would suit the current squad.
  3. You stated something along the lines of he played a different style in the championship. Other than playing more of a low block off the ball, he played close to identical on the ball in the championship and in the premier league. You also have missed the bigger picture of my point, I’m not against Cooper. Do I find it underwhelming? Yes. My main point was our recruitment targets/extension of contracts will be based around a specific style of play. A style of play that does not suit Cooper’s style. Therefore the club failing with a “contingency plan”. That ultimately sets up our current squad to potentially fail, Cooper to potentially fail by not having the right players for his system and new recruits to fail due to not being the right fit resulting in millions of pounds potentially wasted once again. In a recent article (I think it was Tanner, but not sure) they stated the board wanted someone to work closely with Glover, stating it was key to find someone who identifies with the same style of play. Think about it, all of Glover’s targets are going to be suitable for a possession based team. Therefore Cooper is going to have to adjust once again, which is fine but it’s not playing to a managers strengths. I want Cooper to succeed I really do, I’m just sick of the clubs scatter gun approach of different styles and philosophies. It weren’t too long ago they want the RB template hence Jessie Marsh being offered the job, now it’s Manchester City. There’s no clear plan for anyone to work too and ultimately shows no clear direction.
  4. Anyone else notice that our search for a manager didn’t even leave the midlands let alone scout the UK? Cooper, Potter and Corberan all based in the midlands. Rudkin masterclass, keep it local!
  5. I think the majority want the lads and Cooper to do well, I know I certainly do but I can still be unhappy with the clubs decision making. Once again we’ve been sold an idea of possession based football, an identity that we brought into, unfortunately Cooper is not that. His formations go against our strength In players and he’s not a possession based manager. You may think I’m obsessed with having a possession based manager but it’s not that, it’s the fact all of our transfer recruits have now been identified to fit a certain style of play that Cooper is not known for, likely resulting in poor recruitment once again.
  6. Again this is bit of a myth, he played counter attacking football in the championship and the premier league. The difference is premier league sides dominate with possession where as championship sides aren’t capable of that level of domination, hence why the first half of the season we was winning the way we were and the reason why Cooper’s championship possession stats look slightly better. It was quality of opposition, not style of play. I will back any manager until they give me a reason not to but this narrative that he’s a possession based manager is not true, at least evidence proves otherwise. Hence why this appointment is so confusing after the statements regarding wanting possession based management. I truly believe the club haven’t watched the footage and have based a decision from an interview as it doesn’t add up.
  7. This is what I find so confusing, it wasn’t just reports, Top himself stated he wanted someone to continue the style that was built. Cooper often talks about demanding possession but his best season (getting Forest promoted) his team averaged 50% possession whilst in the championship and was known for being a counter attacking team? Confusing to me.
  8. It’s clearly cooper it’s been stated to be confirmed in next 24/48 hours.
  9. I feel like I need to know more… who had the final say? Who wanted who? What were cooper’s terms? How did Rudkin demonstrate his power? many questions if you could answer any! Appreciate your info.
  10. What I find more confusing is why Potter thinks he’s practically guaranteed the England job! For me personally I would want Eddie Howe in the role.
  11. Be honest did you create this petition?
  12. Saved me some time, thanks mate
  13. I’m more pis*ed because I want to do an in-depth analysis of our incoming manager and every time I go to start, the name keeps changing!!!
  14. And I’ve always stated I want to be a millionaire but sadly I’m not and won’t be unless a miracle happens. Point I’m making is it’s fine wanting something but evidence has shown he’s been unable to implement this at the clubs he’s been at. If the club has just believed someone’s word without looking at the tape then we are even more of a shambles than I thought we was.
  15. Moyes does NOT want any other job right now he’s publicly stated this, please stop stating Moyes when he’s ruled himself out of ANY job.
  16. It’s crazy to me that in football people can come in and just ignore everything. The most important voice is the fan base yet we are stuck in a corner with no ability to do anything. People will fight to death to back Top, Rudkin and co despite them charging kids to meet there heroes, 30% increase on match day tickets and a £25 charge for physical season ticket holders that a lot of the older generation will have to pay due to not understanding modern day technology. All of this happening whilst we are in a cost of living crisis. I’m fortunate to be able to afford a season ticket but it’s gutting to see so many not be able to support the club they love. The club put us in a heap of sh*t and sadly it seems they see charging fans more as a way to get out of the mess whilst taking no accountability as the answer. Shameful and disgusting. Im slowly losing my love for this club but I’m dumb enough to still go every week to back the lads. (posted this in the managerial thread, where as realistically it should of been in this thread)
  17. It’s the choice they’ve decided to go with that’s the problem not that Potter’s stalling.
  18. Yes I know that. I would bank my mortgage that in terms of salary Corberan is the cheapest of the 3 managers.

  20. It’s not that I would be bothered if Potter turned us down as I think most of us expected for that to be the case, it’s the fact we’ve decided to go for Cooper instead of Corberan. People talking about the £4m if you give him a 4 year contract that’s £1m a year! Cooper gets so much buzz but ultimately he got through his time at Forest through emotion. They could only pick up points at home as their fans were truly like the 12th man and with the relationship between our fan base and club that’s not going to be recreated the way forest did. As for Potter if he has yet again turned us down (is this the 3rd time?) then I hope he’s off future shortlists, no point wasting time with him anymore. Massively underwhelming.
  21. When I see fixture releases the only thing I am interested in is the first and last 5 games of the season. First 5 is tricky, 4/5 points would be a nice return. But the last 5 games look very promising for us, could easily pick up 9 points if not more depending on if teams like Bournemouth have nothing to play for.
  22. How have you jumped to that conclusion then you are a strange fella
  23. It’s boggling my brain brother For example, Souttar we signed for £15m, 18 months ago. I’ve seen many state that we need to sell him for around £11m for the books to balance and not show as a loss on the books. yet if we got £10m for him and that full amount shows on the books for this year, but only an outcost of £3m this year due to the length of his contract, surely that would show as a £7m profit this year no? Obviously I am aware that you’ll still have to pay the reminder of the fee across other years but a year like this year where we are desperate for funds to avoid another points deduction then surely it’s worth biting the bullet?
  24. There’s levels to it though. Most companies have a manager you don’t like, think he’s bit of a d*ck. Then you have managers who you point blank try to avoid because you despise them that much and usually that becomes more of a personal/personality issue rather than simply being a manager. Rudkin is the latter.
