Who do you want for next season in the PL
leicesterlad1989 replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Apart from that. Spot on mate. Bleak Future is that's what we are aiming for. -
I've been critical of Enzo, especially in the past 6 weeks or so but full credit to him last night. I think they way we set up against them was spot on. We pretty much went man for man and pressed them high, forcing them into mistakes. We also went a little more direct too, as they pressed us high from goal kicks, which was refreshing to see. They say styles make fights and I think we have Southamptons number. They were poor, other than a 10 minute spell second half, where they didn't even create a chance. The way they play, which is similar to us, allows opportunities on the counter, if the press is right. We were spot on and our quality really showed. I'm not getting carried away though. Preston away will be tough and we will likely revert back to the slow possession based football. Mainly down to the opposition. The fact we/Enzo was willing to concede possession last night and deviate from his "philosophy" offered a glimpse of positivity for next season if and when we are promoted.

He deserves full credit for today rather than sly digs. He was fantastic and a worthy MOTM.

Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll
leicesterlad1989 replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
I certainly don't think that but I do wonder how good some players would be in a different system. I think, despite the fact Mavididi in particular has been decent, a better manager could get more out of our wide players. We have fullbacks in Ricardo and Justin who love to bomb forward. Ndidi is a holding midfielder. Him alongside wins with KDH as an attacking midfielder (number 10). Give Cannon a run consistent run out. All just a pipe dreams sadly. -
Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll

But that's not what's happened though is it? This is reminiscent of us bottling top 4 (twice). Easy to spin things whatever way you like but it's simply not been good enough in the last 10 games. How can any fan be convinced he can turn this around given what he's actually spouted in the media about not deviating from his style of football. It's been a bizarre season all round where fans have been divided. Even when 17pts clear, people still moaned about how we played. A lot of those fans now feel their concerns have been justified. Yes, in reality it seems mental when you think we've pretty much been top all season but for the 85% who want him gone, it's not been good enough given the squad we've got. -
I firmly believe the best football I've seen at Leicester was during the early reign of Rodgers and that was due to a blend of the "old" (counter attacking) and the "new" (possession based). For a period of time we hit the right balance. Once he got his claws in it all turned to shit. Back to football under Enzo - I'm a firm believer there's a place for balance possession based football. There's also a time to be a little more urgent and direct, without being route one. The best managers find a blend and aren't stubborn. Enzo will not go any further in management unless he adjusts, whether that's with us or anywhere else.

He always seems to be playing a totally different game to everyone else and I don't mean that in a positive way. What's worse is the fact he seems nailed on to play every game. Poundland David Luiz.

I've tried this season to get on board with the "Enzo Way" but I hate it. I hate everything about the way we play. I hate the stubbornness of him. The system. The lack of chances we create for our strikers. The fact we try walk the ball in the net. Play the ball side to side. It bores me to tears. If this is football then this isn't for me. I obviously want us to win each week. I want us to go up. I'm struggling to watch this, even on a "good day."
-
It's shit. Simple as that. One tempo only. Boring. No urgency.

Anyone still defending the bald fraud?

That's another debate in itself. In our current financial position it doesn't look great. 3 years ago it would have been good risk to take.

Leicester 2-1 Birmingham POST MATCH.

Our manager wants us to play this way. The risk is always going to be there. It was a mistake. Shit happens. Mads has made some crucial saves this season. He didn't need some of the jeering he got from the KOP before HT. -
The lads just turned 20 and is playing in what is in effect his first full season. He's very erratic and does blow hot and cold but there's clearly a talented player in there. The lack of competition on either wing doesn't help. All our players need to be fighting for their places to reduce complacency. I'd like to see him benched for a game or two. Give Yunus a chance and make Fatawu fight for his place.
-
Hes a young lad who still needs to develop. The real issue we have is that we don't have many options our wide and Enzo isn't willing to try others there. The lack of competition is killing things.
-
That's because there's something newsworthy to report on now. Up until a month ago there were 3 teams fighting for 2nd place. Now there's 4 teams fighting for top two place. That's on us. If our arses didn't fall out, there'd be no wankfest.

Seeing as Enzo is a man who is so driven by a system that's supposed to be disciplined, its baffling that Faes is consistently picked. Faes is literally the opposite of that. Always caught out of position and gives the ball away in silly areas.
-
The fact we used up our substitution windows, whilst still at 2 all, sums Enzo up currently for me. I find his game management odd. Having a back four with a centre back as a left back and a centre midfielder as a right back just isn't going to work. Especially against Premier League oopposition. Chelsea's biggest threat was their pace, so we picked the slowest back four possible. The insistence of playing Faes too, is infuriating.

Defensively we are a shambles. Weak as piss and slow a ****. I'm not having Doyle as a left back. Not in this system or any system. -

Enjoyable game overall. We've not rolled over. Sadly poor finishing again though. Need to be better infront of goal. -

Bloody wally. Still love him. No harm done💙

Fans tend to be so extreme with their views. Personally, I don't enjoy this style of football. That's nothing to do with Enzo, my preference is faster and more direct. Given a choice between watching Pep's Man City team or Klopps Liverpool (at their best), I'd choose Klopps Liverpool. Guess which manager has more trophies though? Ultimately it's a result business and I won't be complaining should we lift the title this season. Enzo transformed the club from what was a sinking ship into possible title winners. It's also refreshing to see the youth team also implementing the system and style of play. At least we now have an identity, even if it's not my cup of tea. I won't and don't sit there moaning about the ball not going forward because I understand what they are trying to do. I just wish at times the players would look for the forward pass a little more. So yeah, I appreciate what he's doing, even if I don't enjoy it at times.

No one else could have put that ball through?! Come off it. It was a good ball through but let's not turn it into something it wasn't. Whilst I think he "made the penalty" because of his determination to win the ball and drive with it, he literally ran past the ball instead of shooting. Somehow he ended up with a penalty. Third goal involvement was just chaotic, which sums up Daka nicely. There's always a player or two that divide opinions. Daka is one. Iheanacho was one previously. There's many others over the years too. For me, Daka isn't a very good footballer. The ball bounces off him. He can't pass. He can't hold the ball up particularly well. I do believe, despite one horrific miss and another effort that could have knocked someone out in "Row Z," he's not a bad finisher. He should play off the last man, not coming in deep. Ultimately though he provides a bit of chaos and entertainment, even if at times it's laughing in disbelief.
