No one likes the appointment but I don’t see much point getting on his back this early on and with what is an almost entirely new team. Think we have made decent progress last few games but it does need to translate to results, but you can’t judge on that in our situation until towards the end of September for me

We are so set at right back with him and Aluko. Think both could play in the championship comfortably

This is the starting midfield, ship out Choudhury and Skipp and find a back up for the next few months in a similar mold. Skipp is too stationary and Choudhury can’t kick a ball straight

Overall played well, really liked the backline and the midfield two. Someone needs to teach Bristric to gamble on second balls, and we need a back up striker and another mobile mid to back up Braybrooke and Page. Also don’t hate Thomas at centre back in this side

Unironically would be an unbelievable signing at this level

Think those two are the ones I’d have been most comfortable keeping at the start of the summer, if he doesn’t get a move Souttar will be playing for his career

We are so used to massive rip offs any perceived failure is seen instantly as a useless player. He is 20, give him a chance, if he has a crap loan I will hear it a lot more. If he does well in L2 then he gets a L1 loan/into our team second half of the year/next season, that goes decently he’s probably already worth around what we paid. We have had a lot of awful business but for now I wouldn’t class this as one, albeit the timing was absolutely awful.

Think this is a big test in my eyes tomorrow, squad is barren but we have now all seen that the midfield looks better with Braybrooke and Page and we can not start both Okoli and Souttar, can maybe get away with one. Also think Stol should start but can forgive that one, other two will tell us a lot about how much Martin is willing to change his opinion based on what he sees rather than his ideal image of what we look like

Derby fans seem to think they’re getting BBD who seems to be stokes alternate to replace Thomas. Weird turn of events that the sheep may be the reason we clear Choudhury and Mavididi

Bit disappointed that we haven’t moved for a second centre half already considering the heat around almost all of ours. Hope Aluko isn’t hurt and if he is that Okoli has recovered or it’ll be Thomas and Kangas

Should be asking to include DKD in the Souttar deal, kill two birds with one stone

First priority when the window closes is sign Braybrooke down and try to convince Nelson to sign on too. We don’t need to wait for anything, even if he spends the year in and out of the team his resale value is still there

Really think we sign a big leader type and it’ll Souttar or Hillary next to them

So a prem second team against ours? I think the point still stands. Majority of their side starts for most championship sides including the promotion sides

You can’t moan about this performance at all, we lost because we are playing a prem side with a L1 side without a cb playing the whole game. Tactically been fine and I don’t think there have been any outright bad performances

That’s just an extremely good goal, not much to complain about with that one. That’s two late year Ipswich games in a row with halfway line goals

Thought Bristric had some nice link up play and looks fairly mobile

Think Thomas does try and just doesn’t have the physical ability at rb, the others I really question the effort and desire

Really liked that from Chaplin, not a massive issue but really reamed out Howell for not following him forward. Little standard upholding things like that make players pay attention to the little things which I think we have missed last few years
