Been a big defender of Faes but the mistakes are just way too much for a team in our position. I’d go Vestegaard and Okoli to Jan and try to get someone like Webster at Brighton in Jan
-
Grand scheme of things personally not furious at that, fought well and threw a few punches of our own. A lot of gamesmanship from Chelsea, few poor decisions from the ref, but we stayed in the game until the end. Big thing for me isn’t tactical, more just that Wout Faes can’t help but do something completely ridiculous once a 90. Desperate for a centre back, remember the rumour Barca would pay 30/40m for him, I would wank with sandpaper for that offer in January

Chelsea (H) 23rd November - Pre-match Thread

Hermansen Justin Faes Vestergaard Kristiansen Winks Wilf Soumare McAteer Mavididi Edouard I guess with what we have available, maybe El Khanouss instead of Wilf/Soumare unless I’m forgetting someone,Skipp off the bench for legs if we somehow keep up -
Will definitely get shouted out of here like I was in the Soumare thread a week or so ago, but think this is the best system for Daka since he’s been here, deep line and plenty of space to run in to, think a lot of his issues have come from his complete lack of ability to carry the ball and lack of strength/physicality, hopefully that may be less of an issue with such a deep defensive line and direct balls in behind, if he ever comes good in the prem it’ll be now
-
Pretty good today no
-
Vast majority of his game time was in a side that somehow made Tielemans/Maddison look bang average fairly regularly, our system in the last year and a half in the prem was diabolical
-
Plenty of players who’ve made plenty of appearances for us written off, not saying he’s the best player in the world, but he isn’t completely useless at all, could be a very useful squad option
-
Never been given a chance in our side or by our fans as he’s an easier target than the guys who actually cost us in the prem… young player talent is there, has a languid style which puts off the ‘Enzo needs to be more direct’ ‘Coops wants it route one’ crowd. He is a decent decent player and has always been, think our current style suits him as well as any has. He could be a difference maker for us this year if we give it a go, him Skipp Winks and Ndidi are 4 distinctly different midfielders which give us really good variety when we need. Our problem is half our back 4 are semi functional on a human level and our only striker lasts 60 mins
-
These two and an experienced head that can actually run a bit(so not Coady or Vestegaard) and sell Faes for psr, allowing us to keep Mads

Don’t think it’s as unlikely as we think, think with FFP if he isn’t impressive enough to get a move to the big 6 they could be tempted with a big bid, Gibbs-White/Eliot Anderson style, as they do have a lot of options, even though they are currently far better than us. Provided we survive of course -
Defending has been just terrible today, really is night and day from Bournemouth

Right after we win and keep a clean sheet we change two of our defense and one of our central midfielders? -

Switched to a 442 today and it worked… we are not a good prem side player for player and the delusion from our fan base is bordering on insanity… not a Steve cooper fan but he got it right today and we won, and what doesn’t help us jeering with a clean sheet, 1-0 up for the last twenty minutes, creating a nervy atmosphere. Embarrassing from our fans. Cooper ain’t our best but today was fine, our fan base is grim right now.- 396 replies

Walsall and Everton were definitely concerning but today should not register at all… if this was flipped and we’d beat an upper championship side like arsenal did us today we’d be moaning, it’s never nice to lose in the last minute but today isn’t at all a bad showing, I’m more concerned on whether that fight will carry through, seem to be far better away than at home at the moment
-
Has put a lot of pressure on the game at their place later this year, don’t necessarily hate what you’re saying, I just don’t know that I have any faith in us to go and beat them later this year when they have their classic Dyche bounce
-
If we are to finish 17th are Everton not one of the three we need to be above? If so probably need to beat them at home off the back of all losses for them
-
Think that was a relegation style result, been maybe too positive to this point, that is a grim grim result

Didn’t check the score as I was out for personal reasons to full time, 2-2 away at a good side is a cracking result and that goal looks onside, we should take a lot of positives that we got to the point of 2-0 up, think today is a good result, and I’m generally very pessimistic, have to understand that we aren’t going to have the same results we did when we were a top ten side -
Can see why Italy were desperate to get him capped, on that showing give him a year or two he’s going to be a top player, loved the bite, tackle on McGinn and him shoving the Villa player 5 yards off the pitch after shielding the ball out for a goal kick were highlights, needed a centre back with that aggro who wouldn’t go too far like Soy
-
On a permanent I agree, for a loan it doesn’t necessarily matter where we finish, it’ll be about the game time he’ll get and the ability to sell himself for a move next year
-
Followed by Romano and a few other notable names so hopefully has some legs

How many signings will we make before the end of the transfer window?
LCFCCKEANO replied to Tuna's topic in Transfer Talk
If we don’t at bare minimum go back in for Fofana on loan for depth something is seriously wrong with our recruitment, seems like such an easy option for a team with one fit striker who is 38 -

Read the interview in the opposite way, that he sees Ayew as a jack of all trades rather than the out and out striker we’ve been going for, fingers crossed -

Few very decent loans seem to be happening, think Nelson and maybe Alves will be gone by this time tomorrow
