Can either blame a linesman that makes a split second decision with lots of moving parts, who likely gets 99% of decisions correct. Or he could do some self reflection and look at the terrible choices that he is making himself.

One of the reasons why Rodgers stayed for so long is that he was popular with the players. Cooper obviously isn’t so I’m hoping that is the main indicator for the board.

We have an aging population and we need to pay for it. The whole of the west is experiencing the same issues (America aside as opioids are dealing with that problem).

So after all the agro about fuel allowance, the state pension will rise at DOUBLE the rate of inflation.
-
Pre 2008 you could actually spend spend spend without little consequence except for better public services. Then poo hit the fan and nobody in the western world has yet to find a solution.

Conceding 5 goals from 10 shots on goal is pathetic, there will be goalies knocking around the national league that are a lot better.

Good point, the 1-0 at Bournemouth last season was a good insight too. -

Out of curiosity, what would a good budget look like to you?
-
I always find it crazy how reactionary people get at budget’s as surely proof will be in the pudding in several years time at the earliest? The hysterical reaction from those on the right is probably understandable because it goes against their political instincts, that’s fine. I was similar with massive cuts of public services. Our public services are absolutely wrecked, so personally I don’t think it’s a bad thing that we seem to be prioritising funding them again. Hopefully with Streeting’s NHS reforms in the long run, we can cut the inefficiencies in our health and social care services and the money can be used far more effectively. One thing I do find odious outside of political/ideological standpoints, is that despite promising the money, Sunak and Hunt hadn’t actually budgeted for the post masters/infected blood payouts. That’s disgusting imo.

I’m very excited for the culmination of the election. One horrible, bigoted, weird looking man who runs on a mandate of hatred and racism, against a useless, minority ethnic woman, who has no ideas and will be clueless on a global stage…the Tory leadership election.

They all know that the government can’t and won’t be able to comment on it for prosecution purposes, so are peddling that they’re covering it up. Only a week ago the same people were complaining that identities shouldn’t be revealed until someone is found guilty in the Kabba case. It’s almost like these people want one rule for white people and another for minorities.

Mulder finally got his first test 100! Go on lad

Slightly different point but this is one thing that annoys me about my fellow people on the left. We should be ALL over this, it’s classic exploration of vulnerable people for a rich person’s financial gain, but we don’t seem bothered and I fear it’s because they don’t want to be seen to be attack Jonny foreigner (the traffickers).
-
It’s almost like governing is really difficult. Tax the richest (like they should do imo) we get the “the billionaires will take their money elsewhere”. Raise taxes on businesses, the workers suffer, raise taxes on working people, they obviously suffer too. The same problem underpins it all, that our economy is not making enough money.
-
The civil service don’t have the resources or time to go after them. They only will once public sentiment becomes loud enough. There are evil people trafficking these people in for profit while they’re exploited under the guise of barbering or cleaning cars. It’s vile.

About ten years ago, a kid got arrested under the terrorism act because he was planning to shoot up and blow up our school. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leicestershire-27328590.amp Now he eventually got hospitalised under the mental health act indefinitely and had a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Unfortunately there is a whole new generation of disconnected, lonely young men that may have neurodiverse traits that lead them down a very dangerous path of radicalisation, whether that me extreme Islamist views or far right nazi views, they’re kind of one and the same. I will put it out there that I bet this person in Southport had never stepped foot in a mosque in his life. He will be completely withdrawn from society, and will have spent far too much time on the internet. He may be neurodiverse, show signs of severe mental illness and will have explored and fallen down a terrible rabbit hole, become hate fuelled and have a horribly warped view of the world around him. There’s also the point here that he was charged under the terrorist act because he downloaded al-qaeda material. Me or you could do that tomorrow and with intent to cause violence, you will be charged under the terrorism act whether you have even remotely looked at a qu’ran. The issue here is that we have an increasingly disconnected generation growing up in the country, and the west in general, regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs. Attacks on Islam are pointless because that’s not the issue here. It is the society we have created that is the issue.

I can’t believe he didn’t score in the famous 5-3 against Bolton

That was before the FA cup win though. I think the Forest debacle in 2022 was the right time.

Two party systems are really, really terrible for democracy. Our parliament FPTP is dreadful as it is but at least we get wider representation in parliament and across local councils. This is a choice between two terrible candidates (one obviously morally worse than the other), and two terrible political parties. Gross. The biggest delusion is democracy.

Problem is ‘I want peace’ is a much better electioneering tagline than ‘we’ll keep arming Ukraine, we’ll keep letting Israel bomb innocent Gaza’s ‘, even if it causes worse long term outcomes.
-
I do genuinely think a lot of Americans are sick to death of their own hypocritical foreign policy. Even if Trump will make things worse long terms, there are some republicans who are offering a genuinely different foreign policy which isn’t just moral grandstanding over everything.
-
Harris has been appalling on the campaign trail, she stands for nothing but “I’m not Donald Trump”. Basically what Biden did in 2020 but without the highly regard 50 year political career as back up. She’s obviously the better candidate but so would Danny Devito

Liam Delap must have the best xg to actual goal ratio. Only scores screamers
