Used to work the bar in the hospitality bit at Forest as a student, and served/met him a few times, was always very kind and generous with tips too, he could also DRINK.

Imagine being such a mess that we’re putting a man in at 3 who doesn’t have a first class hundred and everyone’s like “that’s an upgrade” 🤣 also out of 15, Hazlewood, Cummins and Lyon will have played a combination of two games between them and we’ve still already lost. If you’d have said that would be their availability before the series, we’d have been bookies favourites

The drinking culture in cricket is really messed up isn’t it? As someone who has played rugby, cricket and football, I’d say cricket has by far the worst relationship with alcohol at the grass roots level. I’ve played with lads who have got pints on the go as they wait to bat, playing with hangovers then getting absolutely wasted as soon as the game is done. Even in rugby (the one with the worst reputation), most of the stuff genuinely only goes on for a couple of hours in the clubhouse post game. I cannot see a reason why pro’s like this have to get smashed and why people need to justify it. It’s unprofessional and will have a detrimental impact on performance, even in both teams are doing it. Alcohol affects sleep, recovery etc. If they’re drinking because they’re stressed then perhaps the sport needs to start looking at the reasons why players are stressed.

It’s an American strategic interest so they wouldn’t. It would probably kill off nato though as it shows they don’t trust an ally.

If Trump genuinely did just decide to invade and annex Greenland, would Denmark fight back? Would we do anything?

Gone but not forgotten and certainly not the death list

Everyone will know Chris Rea for the Christmas song but some of his other more famous songs are absolutely incredible. Josephine is a particular favourite. -
Leonard Gates is wasted on this crowd, probably the coolest walk on of the lot.

It all comes from leadership, something that was clear then and massively absent now.

It’s not actually that tough these days, India have done it often, even the West Indies won there a couple of years back. They’ve raised their game slightly and Starc has been the main point of difference between the two teams.

I understand your frustration but this is a once in a lifetime trip for many, they’re with mates, parents, kids etc. They're not going to stand there booing the team off are they, they’re still England fans at the end of the day. LCFC on the other hand is not a once in a lifetime experience, and it’s complete negligence. Australia are good at cricket and there’s no shame in losing to them, the issue was always the hubris and arrogance that we could smash them.

Pitch is doing nothing, we’ve got this.

Id be checking any dodgy betting patterns on O’Brien conceding a penalty

The new release of Epstein files doesn’t make good reading for fans of Bill Clinton. Imagine 2 of your last 5 presidents being wronguns.

Talent is a generous word with Walliams.

Brook, brilliant player but as daft as mince.

I’ve made it clear so many times on here that morals get us nowhere in this world. Sadly the strongest win, and we’re slowly wising up to this. Thankfully Putin is an idiot who is destroying is countries future.

It basically all depends on Trump right? If he decides to heavily arm Ukraine tomorrow (he won’t), it could halt the Russians in their tracks. If the status quo continues, Russians slowly take more and more of the oblasts that they’re illegally occupying while killing more Russian and Ukrainian men, destroying both countries futures. You can see why it’s tempting from European leaders view to keep this going on. The longer it keeps going, the longer it’ll take Russia to re arm, the quicker NATO can get ahead and deter anything too wild. The idea that Ukraine will take back the Donbass or even Crimea is pie in the sky stuff short of a NATO intervention and civilisation ending nuclear warfare.

Careful, this rational and realistic view will get you cancelled on this forum.

Happy for them, both good blokes!

This event has done its time and is a relic of the darker side of the past. The further it appears off radar, the sooner it dies, thank goodness. Manchester 2002 was good fun though.

The problem for Belgium was always that they wanted shared responsibility and the other EU countries weren’t prepared to do that. I don’t blame Belgium, it’s a weakness of the EU system. The problem is now that the funds come from the taxpayer which is obviously going to turn more people against supporting Ukraine.

A lot of these issues aren’t just Leicester issues, the country is economically on its arse. The only cities I can think of that are thriving are Manchester and Liverpool and they have different transport systems and urban layouts.

They took two instead! I reckon the Aussies can just about get a lead of 400 here which will be too much with Lyon.

If we drew this series, we wouldn’t have the ashes. Winning is tough.
